I also have thick hair and what I do to keep my hair from falling out during runs is use thick ponytail holders which are thicker, and bigger, and are made out of stronger materials, and use 2! Also I found that if you do a tight bun, sometimes it helps with the bouncing!

Did you ever run xc ? Because I'm starting to get into it as a high school sophomore and I was curious how you would deal with hills (how to get up and down and still maintain speed). If you and Adam want to just share in a video a bunch of xc advice, that would be cool
I did run xc in hs and college! Adam always says you don’t slay a dragon by the tail, meaning don’t surge going up just maintain and then when you get to the top that’s when you can pick up the pace. i always found the hills weren’t the hardest part, it was always the part after where people would really start moving so definitely save a bit of mental & physical energy for after the hills! i’d love to do a xc video thanks for the idea :)

I have super thick hair and I use two hair bands. I do my hair half up, put a hair band on, and then gather the rest of the hair into that section and tie another band on to make one ponytail. Helps a lot!

Nice work! I have thick Asian hair and use Kitsch Spiral Hair Ties and thread my pony tail thru the back of a hat. My hair’s a mess and falling out near my ears by the end of a long run but it keeps. I also jog and don’t run so idk if this will work.
Hi Mica - do you have any specific strength exercises or tips to avoid outer hip pain after long tempo runs?
Clam shells with bands, squats, single legged exercises
yes definitely strengthening that area with band exercises a few times a week!

depends on the day! some workout mornings i meet a friend at 5:45 & other days i start around 8:30

thank you! i will do that in the future. this workout was 5k warm up, 3 x (1200, 800) w 2-3 mins rest, 3k cool down. i also have a strava linked in description to follow my training even closer!!

I love weightlifting; I could watch people do it all day. If lifting a weight causes you to grunt; put it down. Just kidding, my routine is similar.
Hi Mica! My hair is like medium thickness, not super thick, but I’ve started using a hair mask while running recently and twisting it into a tight bun and it stays better than anything else I’ve tried!!! I only use it once a week, but you can do it more often if you want (depending on your hair type) 😗🤌🏼
