Installing the Acuity Shift Linkage Bushing Upgrade on my | FK8 2021 Honda Civic Type R | MUST HAVE!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 жов 2023
- Hey Guy's in todays video we will be installing the acuity shifter cable bushings for my 2021 Honda Civic Type R! You will need to remove the battery tray, battery brackets and your intake for this installation so it shouldn't be too hard. I did notice a more engaging shifter after installing these. Every throw into the gears seem to be more "locked in" and actually feels alot better! For about $80 It's not a bad small mod especially since you're shifting everyday! If anything this will last alot longer than the oem bushings so if yours is worn out and you're looking to replace it, these will last much longer anyways!

You're 100% right when it comes to taking out the battery, battery tray and tubro pipe.
I tried the short cut and bent my shifter cables. Had to replace them with hybrid racing shifter cables. Of course shifter feel is better, but it wasn't worth my time or money.
Thanks for sharing!!!
Yeah, I’ve learned over the years is when trying to install things, whatever is in the way to just take out bc you’ll need all the room possible at least for these engine bays lol, sorry about your mishap though, that must’ve sucked, how are the hybrid racing shifter cables? I’m kind of curious about those
Honestly That slop isn't much to be worried about. My WRX has a lot more slop and I need to replace the bushing on it too.
I like the crispiness of it going into the gears though 😂, yeah that’s true, idk what’s up with those subie shifters, I drove a STI for the first time and was thrown off how wobbly that shifter and throws felt LOL
Yeah I had a 2019 wrx and upgraded to a billetworkz and it made a night n day difference
@@Blake_Drago definitely need to replace my stock ones soon
bro you should've bought the detent spring and installed it while you're at it very cheap and it makes the biggest difference! more than the bushing
I never even knew those existed lol! Thanks for letting me know, I might have to get these next and try them out! How much of a difference did you feel when you installed them?
@@timothysarin Big! I'm not even exaggerating its the lateral movement when you shift is when you feel it the most, it complements the acuity shifter really nice and I think it prevents miss shifts because it adds more effort to the lateral movement before you switch through gears.
@fkhothatchi now I gotta buy it and test it out to see haha! Thanks for the suggestion! This is what I want other people to do! Comment any suggestions lol we’re all here to help! $20 isn’t a bad price at all either
@@timothysarin yessir! Make sure to make a video about it to loll
Haha that’s the game plan!
Do you have the acuity short shifter too ? Or stock still
Yeah I have the fully adjustable short shifter from acuity
Where can i find that shifter boot delete thing lol looks sick
You can find them on Instagram the company is called ChasingJs 🙌🏽, I got a couple things from them already like the titanium door sills and the titanium lug nuts!
@@timothysarin just found them. Thanks bro!
@alexfk8_ nice! Glad you found them! Enjoy the eye candy lol!
The side to side method is not the bushing.
What’s usually the side to side method?
Is it worth with the job? Seens not much improved?
I’d say it’s worth it for the price, for the job on the other hand, it depends on what your goals are for the car, if you don’t care about shifting through your gears then money could be spent on something else. From personal experience I notice the gears goes into the gates much better, it’s more of a feel with this mod. Your can feel it more when you get a shift knob that’s weighted or the whole adjustable short shifter. Install id say is about 5/10, it’s not too difficult, just more so having to take things off to get things out of the way to make room but other than that install should be smooth, it wasn’t smooth for us bc we tried not to take things out that we ended up having too anyways
can we left those retainers away in the video at 5:15? What’s difference if we don’t use the retainers?
@@shenray337 you would want those retainers in as it actually helps hold the bushing in place, I wouldn't want it to come out one day while you're driving
Finger game strong!💪 hahaha🤣
Ayyyyyoooo!!! 😂😂😂
@@timothysarin I have been watching and enjoying your vlogs. Keep it up my friend!
@phothrottle ahhh man thank you for that! I honestly really appreciate it! 🙏🏽 I’m glad you enjoy them!
What inake is that
It is the gruppe m intake
Can I install this on my HRV? hahaha jk but Acuity is so real for this 🫶🏻
If the HRV came in manuals I’d say they’d probably make one that’ll fit 😂, someone let ACUITY know ya boy is always willing to represent them 👀
