I don't even have super weak legs (certainly not as big as I'd like, but I don't have super heavy weights to use), but I 100% know I'm going to feel this in the morning. 😭😭 Thank you, Ryan Humiston

Thanks so much for this. I've been using dumbbells exclusively for a long time and it's been hard to find good leg workouts that really work my legs enough with the lighter weights. This is awesome. Your whole channel is awesome.

I just want to thank Ryan for his videos over the last few months which being isolated at home due to coronovirus you have kept my mind on track and kept me motivated,

Ok Ryan, you are definitely out of a quarantine lockdown because you are blowing up again! I've definitely gotten bigger and I've gotten more compliments following your routines...thanks bro!

I really like that you said at one point (paraphrasing) at the end of the day working out is about trying enough weird shit until you find something that works for you
I know you’ve done a lot for best dumbbells exercises for each muscle group but a video covering the best dumbbell workout for a push + pull day would be excellent as well!
Thank you! F-N phenomenal! I've been needing other angles to tear up my legs besides primarily relying squats and leg press.. I worked in your previous video with high/low step ups, low walking lunges ect and instantly felt the difference and my nervous system is greatful to trade in sets of squats for these other exercises. Now i only do 3set of squats with increasing weight 6reps max for strength but go these other moves for hypertrophy. You're right there's no right way, the right way is wherever one individual finds the best contraction..wasnt feeling much on biceps till i tried rolling my shoulders up n foward at the top end of a biceps curls for that extra squeeze and heavy cheat curls for super slow negatives as a finisher. Thank again for the solid content
Hey Ryan, love your quick, concise, and pertinent instruction. The humor reminds me of my own. Clearly you have have a rapier like wit. I believe you commented on previous videos that you're looking into building your own facility. Maybe you could update us on your progress. I hope Covid hasn't blown up your timeline. I live down the street from the Ice Den. Hope all is well.
I just started going back to the gym and I catch myself wanting to ditch the machines and go to dumbbells doing all exercises Ryan taught us during quarantine. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us!
Ideas for future videos: -strengthening the mind muscle connection (20+ year lifter and STILL having trouble enforcing that mind-muscle connection in biceps - overcoming gluteal amnesia/dead butt syndrome/hank hill butt (I have arthritis, bone spurs (both lumbar) and sciatica holding me back so your unique variations just may be the key) -evening out hypertrophy imbalances. (,was a server for 10 years and my left arm was the arm I carried food trays (sometimes overhead at full extension) so my left arm, chest back and shoulders are all stronger more defined and have a better mind-muscle connection)
I think that I might be able to help with the first and third issue (though I'm by no means an expert). 1. (Mind muscle connection) drop to a lower weight and instead focus on performing the movement in a slower and controlled fashion, really focusing on feeling the contraction / squeeze and stretch (concentric and eccentric phases) of the muscle that you're trying to work. Doing a (or a few) very light weight warm up sets prior to working the targeted muscle can help as well. 3. (Hypertrophy imbalances) no one is ever going to be perfectly balanced but a good way to tell if there's a significant imbalance in terms of strength is to try a single-limb exercise, doing a set with your weaker limb to failure, and then your stronger limb and seeing if there's a difference in the amount of reps you can do in a set with each limb. If you find that one limb is significantly weaker than it's opposing limb then you can work on balancing that by throwing some single limb sets into you program, always working the weaker side before the stronger side and only doing enough reps with the stronger side to match the weaker side (for example if you're able to do 10 reps with one side, but 12 with the other, do 10 reps with both sides).
Well I did it. And Im so stoked about it. Felt great. Just starting this workout I could only manage 2 sets of some of them. And this was after 6 sets of squats so I was really hating it. But loving it at the same time. Thanks for the tips.
I am just here for some gains motivation. I must say the tips and trick you have are on another level. I will most certainly give some of your workouts a shot when I finish my program :).
Perhaps the biggest thing I've taken from all of your videos is the idea of modifying exercises to make them work. This is something I'd always done to a degree anyway, but since I never felt like a pro or expert, I still generally stuck to a specific mold. While obviously form is important...well, and that is sort of the point. Sometimes sticking to a mold or formula lacks benefits, or can even be detrimental in some instances. Anyway, always love the videos. Fantastic. Thanks again!
I used to only do dumbbell complex’s for my leg workouts with very high volume (after I had torn my quad and couldn’t manage a barbell). My legs grew by several inches and now I’m back to doing heavy squats again! This stuff works people.

Side tip: Balance is a huge part of these exercises. After a couple of weeks you’ll think you’re getting stronger. You’re not. Your body will find its balance.
