I was born in 1991 and I remember the super specific feeling of discovering that I lived in a world where after thousands of years of exploration and discovery it was finally possible for any average and determined enough individual to travel to almost anywhere on the planet and this song makes me feel that feeling again every time I hear it
I've listened to this about ten times now... And I just can't get over how amazing their harmonies are. And the energy is so great. After hearing the first 30 seconds, I remember why I love this so much. ❤
Such a great track. I was in my first year of uni and was so impressed with this track. I interviewed the guys in the back bar the local nightclub in Bendigo Studio 54 for the local newspaper. That was epic. Great memory.
It brings back many memories of my adolescence in Germany and of my time playing Football in which "Get Set" had become a training song that captivated me when I heard it on the radio going to train. Then I bought "Imaginate" and I liked the entire CD from start to finish until today that I have it in perfect condition. Greetings from Calgary 🇨🇦
I've seen them a few times and just this saturday night in gisborne they are absolutely awesome. Amazing and have great songs are a totally tight band who know and read each other. And amazing nice blokes you def need to see them if you can. Kim
Its a great song that takes us back to a moment along our memory lane. Where were you when this was on the radio? What was happening in your life? Who were you with? Same as other cool radio songs around this era... ●Life Is a Rollercoaster -Ronan Keating ●Four to the Floor (Thin White Duke Mix -Starsailor
I was 18 and just starting uni. Other cool radio songs I remember were Flagpole Sitter, Weir (Killing Heidi) and Deeper Water, by Deadstar - remember them? Taxiride were huge for a while, then just disappeared and were forgotten.
Thats coool. Yes i remember those, except flagpole sitter. Killing Heidi is one of our great Aussie Rock bands, saw her play at Tweed Heads back then. Baby Animals are a similar band from here too. If you like Killing Heidi, try Baby Animals songs... Early Warning. One Word.
@@gypsysteve3576 yes, I remember the Baby Animals! They were kind of overshadowed by the arrival of grunge. One Word is a great song. Ratcat were another cool Aussie act from the early 90s. I almost saw Killing Heidi live at the Big Day Out (musta been 2000); but they were booked onto a small stage and the crowd got dangerous before they came on, so we left because a crush almost developed. Took ages to get outside.
@@doctorbohr1585 oh wow. I forgot all about Ratcat with 'Dont go now'...they were awesome. They came out around same time as PushPush with that song 'Trippin', and Transvision Vamp. Youre right, i never thought about why they dissapeared so quick, but as you mention, the Grunge era came on shortly after that. I totally understand crowd crush too. I went to MetallicA in '88 and got up near front stage early. When they came on, the weight of the crowd pushed forward. Ide never felt my life was at risk at a gig before that. The pressure was so much, our arms were trapped and couldnt move, and my chest had so much push against it, i was struggling for air. There was a short girl beside me and she toppled over, and all that went thru my head was "if i go down im dead!" cos those who fell on top of you wouldnt be able to move either. The girl was reaching for help so i grabbed her arm, and another guy who saw this helped too, and we managed to pull her up and pass her over head, and the crowd passed her to the back. So while there was still a gap i climbed up too, and the crowd passed me overhead all the way to the back ...what a relief! Sorry for the long blah blah, but that memory just came rushing back when you spoke of crowd crush. Never went front stage to a huge sized audience like that ever again.
*Ring..Ring..Ring...Ring.. Yes Hello This Is Taxiride...What's That? You want us to be the soundtrack for the next 20+ years of Aussie Sports, tennis..cars..football and so on? Yeh sure why not. The Song is already a banger in the year 1999.
Would be great to see all members of Taxiride back together doing a single tour together. Let bygones be bygones. Too good a band to be touring separately, based on past falling outs.

Sad thing is they are bickering in court. Band mates against lead singer or vice versa. From this film clip I find it a bit odd the lead singer is not at the forefront of the film.clip. I think blonde guy thinks he is the reason the Band got popular but in reality dark haired guy is the real reason as his hook chorus makes this song so memorable. Without it, it would never be a classic song.my opinion only 😅
Been in love with this track for 25 straight years ❤ I feel sorry for those who'll never discover this hidden gem 💎
Why is there not more likes and comments......this is such a tune
It's like they've re-upload it or something.
I've probably watched it more than the 246 views it has
Must be an Uber crowd. 😖
Uploaded 29th August, 2022. There's your answer
Because it came out in the late 90s if I recall correctly. But yeah it should be re released on mainstream radio
excellent joke

That's one addictive hook, as far as music production goes.
One of my most favourite songs of all time
It's so good right
Saw these legends perform live last night
I bet it was great
As soon as those harmonies kicked in, it was game over.
SOME girls embrace the, "Pay As You Go," Life Style!!
"LUCKY, Drivers work 9am - 5pm."

This music video makes Election look like a happy teen comedy movie lmao

Were you there at the time?
I remember this song being constantly played, I was only 11 or 12 and for whatever reason it really stuck with me, beautiful unique harmonics

That is so cool! Wowow!
Lol, I was first year uni too: Anno Domini 1999. What a year that was: Taxi ride, Killing Heidi, Fat Boy Slim and the American Pie movie. Fun times 😂
This is the best song of all existing songs in the world!
I love this song, MV, album, still NOW so emotional... my teenage memory.
Love from Japan❤
I've listened to this WAY too much over the years.
This song randomly popped in my head.
"I will be there...
...if you want me to"
Yes I want you to.
What a nice track and a really nice harmony i really like the chorus.
Finally found this song after hearing it on the visit Melbourne ads over year ago
