Thank you! I really appreciate you putting in the time and effort to put this up, thanks to others who worked with you, and to VH for being so cool about letting folks film the show.
I agree, and I'm glad you noticed that Panama moment. It took me awhile to find out what Ed and Wolf were laughing about while I was editing the concert, and then i spotted that kid in one of the cameras and figured out why they were so happy and giddy :-)
Well said. A lot of these haters & naysayers never understood why the magic with Dave & Eddie is VAN HALEN. Its the same with Page & Plant, on some nights Page was awful likewise with Plant, yet on other nights they were on song & in a zone thats untouchable!! The beauty about these great bands like Van Halen & Led Zeppelin is the moment they stop your life & take you to the promised land of ROCK. Rock (like Punk) isn't supposed to be perfect; has to have roughness...its called having longevity!
These days everyone holds their cellphone cams aloft through the entire show - not so back in '84 when I saw them at Maple Leaf Gardens. Every fist was in the air the entire night...and the energy was electrifying. Times have changed. Fans seem more docile these days - less octane.
Three artists and a young and upcoming artist on one stage, they jell, try that with three artists and a young and upcoming painter in a studio with paint buckets... The concert in Pittsburgh kicked ass and EthnHayabusa doesn't know what the term four octives means. I'd like to hear Wolf on guitar vs Dad, saw a father and son moment when Ed pointed out the fist pumping child during Panama. Thank You Van Halen for the night.
being a a Van Halen fan seen the Diver Down tour yah he is never been a great singer but he can put on a show he is entertainment and for some reason besides all the fighting pissing match between him and Ed in the past these two are the Jagger and Richards, it just works and when it works great what comes out is what we hear, with DLR he understands Van Halen he knows its mechanics,
I'll check out those two shows. I'd like to do another VH show Have you seen the Detroit show yet? It's on this channel. I thought Dave sounded pretty good...but it was one of the "headset" shows.
The crowd was subdued in my area, and most of the arena, but when given a chance, we were loud. One criticism of VH is that DLR doesn't do much to pump up the audience, or lead them. Not every audience is the same and sometimes the band needs to coax it out of them, and they don't, so you see a sausage audience, standing there. Not enough interaction, and running from song to song, virtually no break, not giving the audience a chance to clap, shout, let off energy,or "let me hear you say.."etc
No I have'nt but am gonna check it out now. When I say I saw the Tampa show I meant I was there btw.I would'nt be suprised if they use clips from new orleans for a dvd.I do true vocal covers and/or workouts (not singalongs to the record) where ALL vocals are mine except in the soundcheck of "light up the sky" where Wolfgang does backups.I do "on fire" "i'm the one" "secrets" and "light up the sky" which sounds the worst but has gotten the most views ironically.Read desription 2 if u watch them.
I used a Sony PCM M10 unit with external binaural microphones. They were "stealth" mics concealed in some headphones which had watch size batteries in it to power the mics. So I wore the headphones during the concert which I think allowed for a better recording, but felt strange LOL. I stood the entire concert and tried not to turn my head. Also, If you listen with headphones, it's like being there. Glad you enjoyed. I don't remember the brand of mics, but if you really want to know, I can track it down for you. Thanks for the comment, and glad you enjoyed!
The Tampa show was better and Dave's voice was in better shape that night.Judging by all the clips I've seen on youtube so far the last show of the tour in New Orleans was Dave's best singing.Their concerts would be so much better if they sampled some of Dave's vocals,he used a teleprompter and would stop doing all those things that a pro singer knows not to do if they wanna keep their voice. If Dave paid as much attention to taking care of voice as he does keeping a nice body he'd be incredible
If VH do the unthinkable & get Spammy back then its lights out for me with VH. I have it with Spammy, never liked him solo or with VH. I just don't dig his fake vibe!! He's just a screamer who writes some of the worse ever lyrics in music!! So glad VH & Dave are back together & the new album ADKOT proves why they belong, its EPIC!!!
Freakin Awesome....If you dont think so, go see it live.....Worth Every Penny.....

I am amazed that Eddie Switched from Unfinished Maple Fretboards to Roseword or whatever he is using now.

Hands down best sounding bootleg I've heard of this tour! What did you use to record it? Thank you :)

Well the crowd sure suck (barely a fist in the air) n i cant understand why theres not more people at the front of the stage :-/

The band sounds great. David Lee Roth is the worst singer I've ever heard, but the Van Halens are killer.
