Sat Nam, thank you so much for your videos i love them. I wanted to ask you if you have the PDF for this kriya, I am desiring to teach it but cant find it in the library. Thank you so much!
Beautiful kriya. Thank you. Me and my 10 yr old have started this. Would you be able to provide explanation of the benefits from each exercise. Thank you. Satnam
Sat Nam Nandini, thank you! That’s wonderful!! Thank you for reaching out. The first posture helps to open the “life nerve” that runs up the backs of the legs. Opening this nerve assists in relaxing the body, releasing tensions and creating a calming flow of energy. There are many more benefits too, but those are a couple key ones. The second posture opens the front of the torso and thighs, gently squeezes the kidneys and can stimulate the thyroid. It also creates focus and stability while inviting the central channel up the spine to gently open. This brings us into a greater state of balance on all level. Energetically, chemically, physically - they all go together. 3rd is a tension releaser. It squeezes old, built up tension from the day/week/year/life, and on the exhale it has an opportunity to be let go. Very calming and purifying for body and mind. 4th (shoulder stand) is for the thyroid. It regulates your energy and reverses the flow of blood (as you are upside down). The whole kriya put together resets the nervous system, brings the body into a deeper chemical balance, releases tension and creates a sense of calm. There are many benefits to each pose, and the kriya itself, but these are a few :) Hope this helps!!
Aw, I'm sorry about the ads. There is no way for me to control them. You can get ad blocker though. If you use google chrome and download "Add Blocker" on chrome it will block ads on youtube (as long as you are watching through chrome). Hope that helps!
Hi Melissa! Yes of course! I was taught that we rub the hands and feet together at the end of practice to keep the energy we’ve created within the body for as long as possible. The palms of the hands and bottoms of the feet have nerve endings (and are Prana exit/entrances) so when we rub them together it stimulates the nervous system in a positive way, and seals off the entrance/exit for prana, keeping the energy you built in practice inside your body.
Hi Ben, there are so many! Some that come to mind: “Om” “Om Mani Padme Hum” “Loka Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu” “Sat Nam” (Spelling can vary- see how they feel and then look up meanings if you like :) ) A favorite of mine is the Gayatri mantra. It’s long but beautiful and worth learning if you feel so inspired!
haha, I so agree! There is no way for me to personally control the ads. You can get ad blocker though. If you use google chrome and download "Ad Block" on chrome it will block ads on youtube (as long as you are watching through chrome). Hope that helps!
Oh no! If you know of a way to control ads on videos you post please let me know! I wish I could control the youtube ads in some way. You can download adblock on google chrome and watch from there with no ads
Haha thanks Von The mantras are: Ong namo gurudev namo (I honor the divine wisdom everywhere and in my inner teacher within) Sat nam (truth, I am) I’ll add them to the description too :)
I am sorry but th Kriya nd yoga following asana nd th dreadful mantra is incomplete please don’t play with kundalini it damn risky understand it correct nd thn learn it correctly thn teach.
Thank you for your comments! These kriyas are ancient yoga sets that have been passed down from generation to generation. Each posture (and mantra) calls for a specific amount of time. Example: One posture might be held for 3 minutes, and the next posture might be held for 9 minutes. The postures always stay in the same order. You can cut the times of postures as long as you know how to cut them correctly and keep the kriya the same. Here is how to cut times without effecting the kriya: You cut the timing of each posture equally. Like a baking recipe, you can cut the recipe half or by 1/3, etc. You can think of kundalini yoga as being similar to a math equation, or baking a cake. You can make the cake come out perfect even if you cut the recipe in half. So, if the first posture calls for 3 minutes and the second posture calls for 9 minutes. You’d cut in half by doing the first posture for 1.5 mins, and the second for 4.5 mins. Let me know if you have questions as this is an important part of practicing :) 🙏🏽
This was absolutely beautiful. Thank You. 🙏
