Wow,I made some Beef Broth the other night and tried it just now, wow,it turned out AMAZING,I added the following ingredients, a chicken carcasses, chicken back and necks, beef bones, one onion, 3 garlic gloves, chicken leg bones and a lot of chicken feet,a splash of apple cider vinegar, I believe that's everything,I just found out that you shouldn't use onion and garlic doing carnivore, not sure how big a No No that is, this is my first time making it and I can say it's 100 times better than store bought. It's more chicken than beef at this point, lol.

Amazing bone broth Larry... I have been making mine the same way, but rarely have the marrow bones, I just save all my bones of every kind as I do occasionally eat chicken and lamb as well as beef... I put all the kinds of bones together. I also do mine in a slow cooker. Usually, I pressure can the bone broths in Mason jars for storage. I also made turkey bone broth and duck bone broth when I have roasted whole birds.

I had been saving lamb chop bones since me and hubby really love lamb. He would tease me about my bag of bones in the freezer. I made lamb bone broth yesterday in my crock pot but added some pepper and onion and some other stuff I had on hand. It was my first attempt at making bone broth. He tasted it today and almost fell over in delight. He said he’d never tease me about my bag of bones in the freezer again. I’ll be making beef broth this weekend. Just delicious.

You never mentioned what you do with the fat you take off the top. Bone broth is one thing I need to add to my diet. I’ve been carnivore three years, earring only meat and organs, but surprisingly I have yet to try bone broth. What if you were to drink a cup in the beginning before separating the fat? Have you ever tried that? Seems like bone broth with the fat mixed in would taste really good. By the way good luck losing 200 pounds. If you stick to the carnivore diet I would be willing to bet money you will achieve that goal. As I said I’ve been carnivore three years and I am never going back. I am 47 and I am leaner than I have ever been. I don’t think of how many calories I am putting down. I just eat.

So, I put a few of the pork bones in and I save my rotisserie chicken carcass and skin and freeze it until I have 2-3 and I cook those together. Also, Dr. Ken Berry said that if you want your bone broth to be calcium rich, add egg shells. I've been freezing those until I get ready to make bone broth and throw those in too.

I usually make beef bone broth the way you started out with the bones in the oven and then stove top for a couple of days and it's delicious! But it takes a lot of monitoring so I thought I'd try your way. It didn't turn out! It smells strange, hard to describe. Doesn't taste good. Do you have any ideas of what went wrong?
Has anyone else had this experience with crock pots?? I'd appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

I have only ever tried to make bone broth in the slow cooker and it has never turned out. I never considered it might be the slow cooker. But I live in an old, old trailer and wouldn't feel comfortable leaving something cooking on the stove for that long. Not to mention we only have one large burner so it would make other cooking hard. I guess I should try a pressure cooker instead?
