- In this video, I show you a quick and easy way to make roasted beef bone broth. Head over to your local grocer, butcher, or rancher and pick up some beef bones. First, roast them and take out the bone marrow for an amazingly good-tasting delicacy. Then use the bones for your broth. It's a win-win situation!

When finished strain and put in wide mouth mason jars for storage. Let cool and take fat off top to cook with later.

If you start with ice water it will extract some extra nutrients that the heat and vinegar cannot.
Right on. Thanks for sharing.
Would you need to do that if your bones were frozen? I want to keep all the bones for the weeks food and freeze them to make my bone broth each week.
@@CallipygianMoose That's a good question. I honestly don't know because I've never tried it before. There's an easy way to find out though. Find out the temperature of ice cold water. Then put frozen bones in a pot, cover with cold water, and take the temperature to see if it is the same. You could also just do a finger test.
My speculation: if using enough frozen bones with cold water to start then it probably would be cold enough. If not, you wouldn't need as much ice. You could always add just one to three cubes of ice just to be safe. Don't worry too much about it as you can always improve over time if you realize that you made a mistake.
Studies have shown that ACV doesn’t extract more nutrients that just slow cooking the bones. If you want it, you can still use it, but it isn’t necessary if you don’t like it.
Ok cool! Thank you for sharing. I'll look up that study and maybe talk about on a vid. Cheers!
I'm hoping my broth is tasty enough to sip instead of coffee. Thanks for the tips !
I hope it helps. Coffee is such a challenge to drop…at least for me. Good luck with the broth!!
If nothing else there is real collagen in it , healthier and easier for the body to assimilate , collagen supplements don't work that good sometimes.
I got beef bones from long ago and the long bones that were cut back from our Christmas prime rib we are going to cook. I also have a ton of fat that I removed at the end of that roast that was just super thick. I was thinking of maybe Tallow and beef broth at the same time?????? I'm not kidding it's a lot of fat. lots of meat and connective tissue with the bones.
I've been full carnivore for 2 weeks. No burst of energy but feel amazing. Before that I was two weeks Keto. Started Black Friday. Down 20 lbs. Christmas Eve today.
I'm looking for that bone broth and I also cook with that Tallow.
Steak & eggs every morning so far
coffee is a harsh stimulant. Best to find a way to get rid of it from your diet and all other forms of caffeine. it also leaches out all the minerals that you are trying to add to your diet with the bone broth! take a power nap during the day if you need one, you will get a life quality improvement without caffeine.
Mos definitely agree with you. Trying to eliminate the coffee has been a struggle. Sometimes I go for a month or two but then I go back. Thanks for dropping a line!
I make a latte with my bone broth,I microwave 1-2 tsp butter till soften but not hot,add one egg,Redmond real salt to taste ,mix well with frothier or hand blender then while blending I pour my hot bone broth in,so good and frothy,It could be made with just water instead bone broth
Oh wow how does it taste?
Microwave? 😮
Coffee with bone broth? Well, I didn't think that I would like coffee with Redmond's salt so I might try it someday 😉
It's definitely worth a try and great for some extra nutrition in the morning. However, I will warn you that it's not as good as plain old coffee and it takes a minute to get used to it. For me it's more about the potential nutritional benefit than the taste. Hope that helps...and of course thanks for watching!!
this will be a life saver for me, i like to eat a lot of soups but most arent carnivore, and when i try to do it from scratch it always turns out bland, i decided to slowly transition to carnivore after i stopped eating meat for a while because i wanted to save money and ended up making myself very sick and after one steak fixed my whole problem i started adding more meat to my diet, then i heard of carnivore wich at first wounded ridicules because everything i knew about healthy eating came from my mostly vegetarian family, but clearly vegetarianism doesnt work for me so i want to find out of the opposite will work better
Great video… getting ready to make a batch but worried because it’s just me and my freezer is PACKED!! (W steak)…Can barely close the drawer, lol… how long does it last and how much can you drink a day?
Just learned to make carnivore hamburger drop egg soup…so freaking good.
How? Pls 🙏🏼
Great video! I'm pretty new to carnivore and learning a lot. Thank you!
Thanks for watching Eliseo. I’m glad you dig the vid!! Keep it going and never stop learning. To your success. Cheers!
@@WildLumens thank you sir same to you!!!
I'm gearing up to start this diet this weekend, start the transition I guess. I love you adding the tidbit about WHY to add the acv. I gotta do this diet on the cheapish but most value for the money, considering grass fed is that much more expensive.
Thanks and I just subscribed.
You sourced good ingredients but then used an older crock pot. The danger with ceramic is cracks could lead to toxins seeping in the food and you have to question how that ceramic was sealed. And you covered it with something that sounded like plastic. Plastic when heated degrades and releases toxins. And that looked like a non-stick baking sheet which…well you can google it. So what was the point of perfectly sourced food if you didn’t source perfect cooking ware.
As for the fear of pollution, my guys it’s everywhere there is no escaping it. Plants in remote parts of Alaska have shown to be very polluted because it travels in the air.
My point really is we really can’t source perfect ingredients anymore. Everything is tainted in some way and I think it creates more stress on people trying find these perfectly source ingredients not to mention I’m sure some part of it is a money grab.
People just do your best. You could do everything perfect and still get cancer or die young.
I've been making bone broth for years--beef especially (so good for gravy)! I came across some great information about beef broth.
BEFORE you roast the bones, you should blanch them first which will remove all the hair, blood, dirt and any other impurities. It's actually quite disgusting what boiled to the surface of my pot. Once all that was done, I roasted the bones and continued with the process of making stock. The flavour of the broth is much better and no matter where I get my next batch of bones--I will always blanch.
Can you d3escribe the process of blanching? Thx
@@TeresaSvk I have a big pot that I put the bones in and cover with water and bring to a boil. Once all the scum stuff rises to the surface, I scrape off and continue to boil until that quits happening. Then I roast the bones to get a nice colour and then put back in my clean pot, add water and some apple cider vinegar, wait for about a half hour or so and then bring to a boil. It's made a huge difference in the taste of the broth. Hope that helps :)
@@alexbateman4301Hi, do you mean you let it simmer 30 mins and then boil, or it takes 30 minutes til it boils cause you got a large amount? Or just let the roasted bones in cold water and then bring to a boil after 30 minutes? Sorry for the confusion
@@philk8190 Initially when I blanch the bones, I bring water to a full boil and continue until all the scum quits surfacing. Then I take out bones and roast in oven to get a nice colour to them, for however long that takes. Then back in a clean pot with fresh water, no heat and some apple cider vinegar for at least a half hour. After about a half hour, I'll bring pot to a boil (just to ensure all impurities are gone) and then add my veggies and let simmer. This is usually a Saturday event and I'll let simmer overnight and can it up on Sunday. 🙂
followed your receipe, it came out identical!
Subscribed and preparing to cook the broth!
Right on!!! Super easy to make. Hope you enjoy.
i left mine on and it was burnt when i get home
You don't look carnivore for some reason
'carnivore bone' broth. There's no other type 😂😂
Thank you for your video. Is distilled water ok to use?
I actually like the bone broth cold. I love the jelly texture 👍
Hmm... never had it that way. May have to try it.
another great video mate , cheers :)
Thanks for watching again. Trying to keep things moving forward. Cheers!

Can you freeze it, it’s so much for a me
Hi Herman...I never freeze it but I have seen other people do it. Probably better to freeze then to waste it. Good luck!!
I portion and freeze mine, works out great.
Thanks for the video!! I'll be making some this weekend. I love bone broth!! What did you do with the bones afterward?
Idk what carnivore diet is...but this video was the most simple to follow. Thank you! 😊
Carnivore diet is best died for losing weight because it doesn’t allow carbohydrates of any form, only protein and fat. You only eat animal products such as meat & eggs, but not milk since it contains carbs. It’s really good and you’ll feel better if you try it.
Carnivore diet = Meat
Animal based diet = Meat, Fruit, Raw dairy
Hello! I’m curious as to what your opinion is on the fat that rises to the top ? I have read a couple articles/recipes that state the fat should be skimmed after 2-3 hrs of cooking otherwise it becomes rancid.. I made my first batch of bone broth and did not skim the fat. Thanks from Canada.
I usually skim the fat and put it in a tub in the fridge and you can use it for cooking or even as a facial moisturizer. It's basically beef tallow/beef dripping. Its great for roasting potatoes but I'm not a carnivore.
I've never heard that, nor have I ever experienced it, just mix it in while the broth is warm, put it in your jars or containers in the freezer and then when you reheat it mix in a good chunk of the top fat with each batch, it will just mix in and just drink it down! It will give you amazing health benefits, fat is so important! But yes you can also keep it separately for cooking in the fridge or freezer but it certainly won't go rancid any time soon!
Sometimes there is a foamy scum. If so skim & discard
How much bone broth should I be drinking daily?
This may sound like a silly question, but do you add it to boiling water so it melts and creates a hot drink?
Or do you add it to a cup, heat it up and it melts on its own into a hot drink?
Just put it in a pot and it melts on its own into the liquid. You can add water if you want to dilute it but that’s only if you don’t want straight up beef drink lol
Thank you
0:01 3 years old...guess the cookbook no longer recognizes the discount ....oh well ...gives me a chance to research newer editions and more info ..
New subber....love this channel.....
Also, what do you do with the bones after you finish with them?
Just roasted some beef knuckle bones ...getting ready to put in the crock pot....
Would one cup of bone broth be the 1 cup of melted down jelly broth, or is it one cup of boiling water with a certain number of tablespoons of jelly broth. Jelly broth wouldnt be considered a concentrated?
You need to calm down with that right hand flying around 😂
Do you take hydrolyzed callogen?
Nope. I just drink bone broth.
Do you do anything with the bones after?
Yes crumble them up and put in garden for bone meal
I just throw them in the compost pile ... they get recycled in there til gone. @@StrangeRealityVlog
Freeze & add with fresh bones on next batch
You roast bones a 10 minutes but at what degree
I use 400F. Check out any UA-cam video on making bone broth
nice
I did not get that. You scoop out the fat on top and the liquid you are using for cooking??? And how to make bigger amounts of fat? I want more of that ;-)
just by tallow from a butcher for fat.
Any store bought bone broth i can buy?
Thanx... I subscribed
Quick questions, are you happy with the crackpot you have listed or is there a better one you prefer ?
The connection for the wide mouth jars doesn't work.
Is a crockpot better than an Instant pot ?
Does the beef bone have a particular name ?
Thanks
Well water , ok?
Can someone weigh in about lead poisoning issues with bone broth?
Where is this coming from?
Can you make it frozen bones or do they need to be thawed?
bake the bones till fully cooked 1st better flavor.
Helpful.... Ty sir
Hell yeah my dude! nice video!
Thanks brother! Glad you dig.
Do you use pink or rock salt
is it a good or bad idea to re-use the bones?
Good. I’ve seen people use the same bones for 3 batches without adding any new ones and the broth still comes out gelatinous on the second batch, not so much on the third. I have personally never done it. Keep in mind many people do tho.
How long does the fat last?
What if I don't have apple cider vinegar. Will i get the good nutrition??
Try it. Unlike normal vitamins and mineral supplements, bone broth is one you cam see tangible results within days and weeks by taking it.
You don’t have to use the ACV
So is there no benefit to keeping the fat in there and drinking it with the broth? Thanks for the vid!
You can just make tallow and add it into your bone broth cup.
After viewing approx 20 videos on bone broth yours by far for me is the best. Thank you very much. I own a fancy expensive slow cooker. It’s bulky n imposing so it’s up in the attic. I like your simple crock pot which I’ll purchase.
Thank you for the tip on where to get it! : )
It?
what about grinding the bone into a powder, also isn't lactic acid chemically similar to barf?
What do you use to grind the bone into powder?
Con you use other organic vinager instead
