    My mother was from Europe, Old Country and she made soup so tasty it was to die for. Unknowns to me, it was bone broth with a little meat or chicken.
    She put everything in one big pot with water, veggies & spices & cooked it on lowest heat for appx 4-6 hrs.
    I attribute our health to her, all natural food
    ....we never ate food from a can and, or, fast food. I'm 74 yrs young and take no meds! God is good!

    I buy 5 kgs of beef bones, roast them then soak them in water with a cup pf ACV for an hour. Bring the huge pot to a boil then turn it to its lowest setting and let it bubble away for 48 hours. Been doing that for several years. Not dead yet! Turned 70 last birthday. Had a mug of it tonight, will have another mug tomorrow and so on. Sorry Doc, I don't buy this one size fits all. Different horses for different courses. BB works for me and I love it.

      You boil it in the same water it soaks in? Also, doesn't running your stove for 48 hours drive up the electric or gas bill depending on your stove? Not being funny, I want to make some, but everyone recommends cooking more than 24 hours, and that just seems like a long time to run the stove. Was wondering if possible to make it within 8hours, or does boiling it at a higher heat longer reduce the nutrient benefits or something?

He dedicated the last 15 years of his practice to prevention of illness. He began enacting the principles of Dr. Blaylock's research into the education of his patients. He retired in 2006. I worked for a GP similar to your dear dad. My boss was awesome, practiced for 43 years. Old fashioned down to earth good common sense practices he instilled in his patients. More often than not, patients walked out with a flyer about how to heal what ailed them, instead of a script. Dr. M. often said, good health starts in the gut. Even the pharma reps knew that donuts and bagels were a no-no, and they would bring a fruit platter instead!!! His wife was a R.N. as were we, his staff. His daughter was a P.A. and we had 2 MA's as well. He was forced into retirement after falling down a flight of stairs at Del Mar race course in 2002. A tragedy we barely could comprehend. I retired as did the rest of the staff. His daughter went on to work with a pediatrician, and she carries on the good works her dad instilled in her.

      Bonebroth from grassfed organic properly raised cows, and pastured chickens are extremely GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! It is the huge companies that do not properly raise their animals that are not good for you. why? The bad stuff they feed them and inject them with! Soy, grain, antibiotics etc.... The bad things in the body get concentrated in the marrow. Also... Our bodies know exactly what to do with what is put in them! GOD designed us brilliantly! We reject waste, fight poisons, toxins etc.... If you put it in faster than your body rids it thats where the problems start. So pay attention to what you eat and get it from local farmers with proper practices that avoid grain and soy!
      Note... I only eat meat, my health has greatly improved, my astigmatism has reduced which is amazing!, and I regularly consume bone broth along with chicken skins, and eat all the fat and gristle etc in my meat. When eating properly fed soy free grain free meat, My body uses nearly everything put into it and I only have to have bowl movements 1 or 2 times a week. My knees have stopped hurting, my arthritis in hands is improving, my eyesight and astigmatism improved, and I have lost weight, have more energy, and depression improved. However, when I switched to cheaper meat from mass producers that used grain rather grassfed, I had a BM every day and twice one of the days that week. Why? More waste in grainfed meat. Collagen is high in bone broth... improves all the previous mentioned and more! Also... I look much younger than I did before going all meat. Protein does NOT age you! No one absorbs a complete protein. All protein is broken down in amino acids, and rebuilt into what the body needs. So, plentiful amino acids provide the body with all it needs. So, if you lack collagen, and there are plentiful amino acids around, then the collagen will be rebuilt. Provide the body with other things too - sulphur, copper etc, that make up collagen. You will be fine.

I would have to leave a residential job to go potty at a public restroom.
      No issues anymore. Solid, easy, no stomach aches since going carnivore. Very little gas and virtually odorless. Making blanket statements like you have in your comment are not based on science. I'm not sure about fiber but if you think about Eskimos who lived in north pole where nothing grows and they had no fiber and lived healthy happy and strong for eons with no diseases or people living in places like Saudi Arabia which is just a massive desert then it makes you think if we really need any carbs and fiber at all?? P.S.: concerning iodine sea salt:
    I’ve learned from another podcast that iodine needs to be taken with selenium (two Brazilnuts per day contain all you need of it) in order to be bio-available for the thyroid.
    Same goes for Calcium which in order to be absorbed by your bones and teeth needs to be taken in with Vitamin D, which needs to be taken with K2, which only works if taken with some oil or fat. ...It’s making you dizzy

    Thank you for explaining this so clearly. The body makes collagen and in order to do this it needs adequate amounts of vitamins such as vitamin c. My nutrition is mainly vegetarian, except for bone broth, which i mainly take to ensure certain aminoacids and vitamins help with menopause symptoms and hopefully help me avoid arthritis and osteoporosis later on.

    What you seem to FORGET Gundry is that many of the people that have gone to using Bone Broth have *LEAKY GUT* and for many people with leaky gut, they WILL in fact be able to absorb complete proteins through, into the blood stream, especially, if they are using PPIs to reduce their stomach acid. There are MANY proteins that are not completely broken down into amino acids, especially those proteins that are heavily folded and strongly bonded (like in raw, uncooked eggs).

    • @presence5426
      @presence5426 2 роки тому +4

      That's what came to my mind too, sort of. When we consume protein, a lot of it is broken down into amino acids, but not all. Sometimes there are peptides (short chains of AA's) that make it into the small intestine. And these peptides can cross the intestinal barrier into the blood. That's why collagen peptides may work.

May be a coincidence but I put it down to the collagen in the broth. Whether it works or not, I love it as a soup for lunch and don't need anything else until the evening meal. My wife is Asian and she makes it with a Pho flavour. Amazing.

    Hi Dr. Gundry, I’m vegetarian and have been since adolescence. Other than B12, iron supplements etc I take a health shot every morning of chicken bone broth from the local health store. My question is that would it be more worth it for a vegetarian/vegan to take bone broth daily for a 2 month period at a time to help fuel my body with the energy it doesn’t get from not eating any meat. I mix a concoction of bone broth, apple cider vinegar, celery, sometimes an apple, coriander, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, flaxseed oil, sesame seed oil & olive oil. I drink a shot of this every morning before eating, along with my morning supplements. Am I wasting my efforts? Is there an easier way to do what I’m trying to achieve or am I doing it right?🤷🏻‍♀️ please help, I value your knowledge and opinion

    Longevity is a complex subject. I eat tons of veggies ... and ... try to mix in at least 8 to 10 high-quality low oxalate plant-based foods with my meals. I also try to mix in quality animal protein ... organ meats ... bone marrow as well. ... the best of carnivore
    All that being said, in comparison to meat eaters ... with vegans having the lowest Methionine consumption in their diets ... One would think that a vegan's low Methionine diet would correlate to a significantly longer life span ... at least statistically ... It does not!!! ... The longevity data for vegans worldwide does not bare out the same results as that of the low Methionine study in pigs. On the whole, vegans do not live longer than health-conscious meat eaters ... that exercise... have a purpose ... good sleep ... community ... etc.
    The Methionine connection seems to be clear in pigs but not in humans. A balanced whole food ... real food diet is really the key. One-off studies don't tell the full story

    • @AdventureAwaits972
      @AdventureAwaits972 Рік тому +1

      Last thought … Don’t want to downplay the science or the dangers of the overconsumption of meat … That said … Clearly, our ancestors ate meat. One major difference is that our ancestors did not have ... things like grocery stores or mobile apps to order food to their doorsteps. They hunted ... walked ... worked for food … even in the early agricultural days, humans had to work for food. There went hungry more and fasted for longer periods
      Lastly, Methionine levels are almost none existent during a long fast. So, the amount and type of protein are important ... the feeding window/timing is also important

    Carnivore is the optimal diet actually- red meat Govea us all the nutrients and fats we need, plus salt. Just look at all the people healing “incurable diseases” by eating strict ketogenic or carnivore. The main issue I’m concerned about with bone broth is the potential for lead to be in it since animals store lead in their bones. I’m still researching this since I literally just made a big batch of bone broth before hearing about the lead.
