Thank you so much for this video, I'm an older woman and I live on a fixed income, your video helped me to clean my own headlights and not have to go around asking for help to clean them when I can do it myself. 😊👍💕 You are a God send .
Yes, me too, I really don't want to go around looking for help... A great video to keep older women independent. 😊❤
This guy wanted to charge 85- to do for me What?!
Also, how do you get that moisture out of the inside lens’s? 🙏🏼
Moisture?
You put a lot of work into this video- It was very helpful- Thank you.
Nice job explaining everything tks brother.
Dang.... this is one of the most useful how to videos I have ever watched. Thank you!
Thank you so much. I have a 2003 Lincoln Town Car and now I will be able to clean the headlights. I, too, am a 79 year old female who has asked many men how to do this with no help. You explained everything so well. Blessings to you.
Woulds love to help you with ANYTHING Sandra.....I'm in Virginia....God Bless you also
I just use acetone nail polish remover. Makes them crystal clear in one pass. Don't make more than one pass...additional passes cause the fog again. Don't get it on your paint.
@@Lili-xq9sn I thought nail polish remover was hard on plastic.
@@donald8354 yes, thats why is instantly removes the yellow layer.
These men these days ain't shit. Excuse my language but it's true. Most of them are trifling and lazy. I have a so called friend who if I ask for his help with something he would rather tear something up than to fix it. That's why I've got to where I stay by myself. If you don't want to see me succeed and you know can't you help me fix especially something electrical then just stay away from me!!
I’m a 71 year old female. I’m the original owner of a 2004 Honda Accord with only 61K miles. Last evening I was positive my headlights weren’t working. There were areas of my route I had to use high beams. When I got home, I discovered they were working but the lens were so cloudy very little light was getting through. I texted some male friends and said they can be cleaned for $100-300. I discovered your video! I have the Mr Clean magic erasers. I just used a couple days ago to clean the white edge of my tennis shoes. I will buy the spray protectant and clean ASAP. Thank you for your excellent tutorial. I have been able to diagnose and fix several problems myself by watching Utube videos. I will let you know how my application goes. Thank you from Dallas
Please let us know
I hope all is well and we're still awaiting your reply!
I'm 74 and a few months ago changed my 2019 CRV brake lights. Looove UA-cam DIY🎉

Crazy Car Mods:
Yes, we would LOVE to know how to clean the "moisture" out of the headlights, as well. Thank you for sharing your knowledge & skills with us. I have LIKED and subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to seeing more of your tutorials! I'm very grateful...I LEARNED so much! ;-D
Very nicely done video, I love how you broke it down to easy steps, without skipping important details. But I wanted to know how you applied the clear coat without runs or too little for fovgyness Your layout of products was well done. Two 👍
Agree both of mine have moisture in them
Hair dryer ??
I also would like to clear moisture from headlights. Thanks for your video, God Bless you!!!
Sometimes the moisture builds up inside the headlight and is impossible to remove. But very helpful tips here.
I wish SOOOO MUCH whoever got the idea for these PLASTIC HEADLAMPS had them stuck where the sun don't shine. The GLASS Seal Beams were superior and CHEAP to replace. This is just another gimmick the CONSUMER ECONOMY has to keep people BROKE. But having said that, you did a GREAT JOB!!! I have ONE question though, after applying the clear coat, when it goes BAD, it will one of these days, how do you clean it THEN??? Great Video!!! BB
Just get a turtle wax restoration kit and put a lot of clear coating on after your done. The grit paper sands off all of the oxidation and the clear coat protects it from the sun for atleast a year. After any of these in this video you can expect oxidation after 3-6 months. That's why the kit is worth 20$.
Q
@@thestranger1164 For $20 bucks you could buy to NEW seal beams that would last for YEARS.
I just use acetone nail polish remover. Makes them crystal clear in one pass. Don't make more than one pass...additional passes cause the fog again. Don't get it on the paint.
@@Lili-xq9snhow long does the nail remover last?
'96 Avalon here and they're as cloudy as Seattle, WA on a foggy and overcast day! THEY'RE SUPER BAD!!! I Can't wait to do this 2moro! I was actually pricing lights today (TOO MUCH $ for fixed income woman) and your video suddenly appeared... I just wanna be safe and with your helpful video that is now going to be a reality. THANK YOU FROM THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!
Im glad it came at the right time for you 🙏 . Wish you the best, lots of blessings. Let me know how it goes.
Excellent! Everyone can see you put a lot of thought and work into this experiment. My hat is off to you.
I had a mechanic drill a couple if holes at bottom edge of a light to drain any trapped water. Works fine.
I once had to drill a small hole in mine. It was literally a quarter full of water.
I too am a senior citizen and can’t afford to have things done by others thanks for the tips !!
Thanks for your advice. I found a bicarb (baking) soda toothpaste which worked really well. I was left with a fine haze, though.
My finishing touch was an application of "Brasso" metal polish: Rub on, leave to dry, then polish off vigorously with a soft cloth. The result is magic!
I use Brasso to clean scratches off CDs & DVDs too..!
The coca cola acid and the flouride is an prime example of what it's doing to our insides
Not quite, but it would be fine never to drink soda again. Our stomach acid pretty much wipes out bad stuff. Can you imagine if our stomach acid was poured on a,rusty nail? It would clean it lol.
Wrong, lol. You realize our stomachs are full of acid, right? And even in your mouth and throat, you have a constant supply of saliva and mucus that minimize any damage, much less the effects you see on plastic. And If you never brush your teeth with fluoride the sugar from the soda will lead to much more damage than any acid.
A couple of years ago, I paid Walmart $25 to clean my headlights. It looked great but only lasted the better part of a year. Thank you for all this info! You've been a blessing to this old woman. 😊
$25 is pretty cheap really.
@@shayronrausch3173 If I can do it myself, it's even cheaper.
It would be interesting to find out what Walmart uses to clean them... Anybody from Walmart like to share? It was problem WD40...
Yes, that was way cheaper than I paid.
Use a small foam pad on a drill instead of a toothbrush, and you will get much better results. Then put a coat of wax on it and buff it out. When you've done that, use a nano wax product of your choice on the headlights, and follow up with a clean foam pad and you will have the best looking headlights around. Good luck with your restoration project, take care, and stay safe.
Great advice!
The original video was excellent and helpful, but I've come down to the approach you describe. Power that baby out! Lickity split.
Very helpful hints thank u. I took notes and will try.
Only if you have a drill. As a woman I never had a need for a drill. I'm beginning to see a drill is actually a very helpful item for more than one type of use.
I wouldn't know what kind to get though. Are they all the same?
I miss my late husband 😒 he took care of all these kinds of things.
Everybody should at least learn how to do stuff in case you find yourself in the position to need that skill.
👍
@@BabyMonkeyDefender Definitely get a drill. And different size drill bits. You can use the drill to make holes and to turn screws. It beats a butter knife. Look through some of his tools (if you kept any) I’ll bet you find all sort a helpful items. Then learn what they can do. Have fun with it and good luck. Happy New Year!
Great video, thank you! I missed the part on the WD40 application. It sounds as if you applied it alone but, what if you apply it after your favorite cleaning method? Oh, and yes, I'd be interested and look forward to watching your video on how you remove condensation and if possible, how to fix the leak/prevent it from happening again.
The manufacturer of headlight covers should be responsible for replacing them when they become hazed over. This is a safety hazard and there should be a better Plastic product to make headlight covers out of considering the advances over the last few years. Many shatter-proof glass products would eliminate having to go through this nonsense, but your video is far more informative than others I have viewed, Thank You!
You did a great job on not only showing us what to use, but why that individual product works the way it does. Great video! Thank you.
You have taught me so much! Thank you. I can't wait till tomorrow morning to clean my dull headlights!
Thank you for confirming and proving what I already knew. Now I can prove to everyone I've been trying to tell this to, that I'm not crazy and actually know what I'm talking about! Thank you again!

Another use for the clear coat: After caulking around tub/floor and toilet stool. Blends, lasts, invisible. Been a few years and still looks like new!
I'd like to see how you get the moisture out of the headlight so if it is somewhere, I didn't see and will keep looking. I've tried a few of these in the past but will definitely try the others. Thanks for the extra ideas.

Thank you for showing an old woman how to clean the headlights on her car it was a great help loved watching the video you are very informative got to the point excellent the best video I've seen yet thank you again God bless
FAST FAST FAST Acetone(nail varnish remover) on a microfibre cloth. One pass. Then autoglym(polish) spray and quick buff. Amazing result in about a minute and very little effort.
I use acetone nail polish remover too. Makes them crystal clear in one pass. Don't make more than one pass...additional passes cause the fog again. Don't get it on the paint.
What is autoglym spray? Where do I get it, please?
@@Lili-xq9sn autoglym is a car polish, available online or car accessories shops. Brilliant low labour spray polish
Your the only person that told about long lasting clear coat
Thank you for taking time to make this video! Very helpful. I liked the mix of 3.. baking soda, hydrogen, and vinegar best. The wd 40 looks crazy good, to bad it's only temporary.
I’m curious if you use the wd40 after one of the other methods to make it look even better
@@CaesarWaesarI thought the same thing ... especially good for driving your car to a special occasion, since the "boost" is temporary.
This is exactly what I needed!! You're so pleasant, thorough and informative thank you so much
Most methods only clean the lights temporarily (weeks/months).. For long lasting results, take a single edge razor blade and gently scrape (slide) the razor edge over the entire surface several times.. Saw it in an India backstreet UA-cam VId, best results ever..
This was an awesome helpful video. Clear and simple with all the details as to how and why. Excellent 👍
Damn man, I had no idea the is so many things that can clean my headlights. Great Video 👍
Thanks 👍.
Also don't forget to clear coat your headlights so it can last.
@@CrazyCarMods what kind of clear coat?

Watch the last few minutes of the video. He explains everything you need to know! 😊
Thank you for the science lesson, very interesting. Can I use these methods on my tail lights as well? And yes please let me know how to get rid of the moisture in my lights. This was a great video. Thank you.
thank you so much, such a good video, I have spent alot of money on products trying to clear my bad headlights so really appreciate all the info- I had no idea about the clear coat.
Very good tips. Never knew about the baking soda and peroxide. I always did the wet sanding and compound. Also, never knew about the clear coat after it. I always just waxed it afterwards to give it an extra layer of protection. It usually lasted about 6 months or so, but i can see that the clear coat would give me a couple years depending on whether i park outside or in a garage. Good info and tips.
Good looking bro
Great video the charges shop charge for products is so ridiculous ur video are amazing n it cost next to nothing to clean headlights all da products u av in ur kitchen.very well executed
Excellent job on this presentation! Thank you. I would like to know how to get moisture out of headlights without removing the cover.
WD40 works great for cleaning headlights. I live in AZ with lots of sun so a little WD 40 every now and then cleans those lights good without using expensive stuff.
Thank you! This was very helpful. I do need to watch it again! 🤗
Great well thought out video guide!
The combo definitely wins out. Next is the coke treatment. Thanks for showing these hacks. You did a great job with the comparisons, as well.
You are very detailed and comprehensive in your video. Thank you for a thorough coverage

Very helpful, Thanks!
Thanks , this is great !!
Wonderful presentation.
Just wet sand the headlights with a really fine grit sand paper and then rinse clean then spray it clear coat.
Thank you for posting this video
I’ll give those ideas a try
Great Video! I am going to try this on my husband's Car since the lights have clouded over. I use the Magic Eraser on my car a lot. It gets all the black marks off of it and scratches beneath my door handles. It also...... rubs out significant scratches and scrapes. My husband scrapes up his car all the time on the front bumpers. The eraser got rid of 90 percent of the scratch last time. He couldn't believe it when I showed him.
I want to know about a 325i 2002 BMW

Great secrets to know ,thanks .And great money savers also.
This presentation is reasonable and provides much insight. I appreciate it.
Thanks!
Excellently presented video. Very professional!
I had heard that you could pay to have someone else clean the headlights. I am 65 and on a fixed income. Your video helped me with my headlights. I favor the toothpaste and soft cloth method. I have assigned parking and drive less than 3,000 miles per year. So, I like the toothpaste result as it last longer for me due to my reduced driving. In a small town you only add up so much mileage. Thanks for your helpful tutorial.😊
We sound a lot alike. I'm fixing to clean my yellow headlights on my 2001 Tacoma and can't afford a professional.
Thanks for all the info. Very informative.
I will try it out. Thanks for the info
Show me how you can get the moisture out of your head lights
Replace the assembly?
Heat gun gets the water out from the headlight or blow dryer
@@tonykeiiz7807 that's a whole lot cheaper than replacing it lol
Yea, how do I get rid of that inner headlight moisture? Charles McC
Find out where moisture is entering, repair it.
drill a small hole in an inconspicuous spot and use a hand held vacuum pump to pull a vacuum and hold it for awhile, this will do two things. It will evacuate moisture
(same as pulling a vacuum on an a/c system)
and it will confirm you have fixed your moisture entry leak.
Remove pump, seal hole immediately with your choice of quick setting sealant.
Thank you for these-much appreciated!😎
Great job, Thank you
