I've done Uber eats only, for almost a year
Pros
1.) Don't have to deal with passengers in your car, treating it like dirt, throwing up etc.
2.) More pay per km, so you don't rack as many km on your car
3.) Busiest during dinner, after rush hour traffic, so you don't usually get stuck in traffic
4.)You do get tips maybe 10% of the time but as a percentage it's pretty big, many people tip 5$ for a 10 dollar delivery
5.)You can play your own music
6.)In Toronto where I live, Uber eats is not subject to the same regulations as Uber x like getting 2 mil liability insurance, and annual checkups, so I pay less in insurance and no annual check up to pay.
7.) Many times I've had people cancel orders or give wrong addresses and couldn't contact them, so I've ended up eating a lot of restaurant food and got paid for the delivery as well :3
8.) Average around 18-25/hr, before gas, and other expenses
9.) Taxi drivers don't hate you (if you care lol)
10.) Just my theory, self driving Uber delivery will take much longer than self driving uber Xs to implement because the car cannot go into the restaurant, or up a damn condo, so in terms of longevity I feel uber delivery/rush will last longer, just imo :D
Cons
1.) Have to keep getting out of your car and in inclement weather it's annoying, but bad weather is usually when Uber eats is good as people want to stay in!
2.)Not busy all the time, mostly during lunch and 6PM-12AM and during weekends, so yes maybe not the best as a full time gig.
Things not to do,
if the restaurant takes over 5 min I cancel the order, it's not worth spending too much time. Most times the food is ready as I go into the store. Stay in areas where people don't live in condos but houses as you don't get paid trying to get into a condo and having to talk to security and all the time wasted going up and down elevators. It's inevitable you'll have to go into one but attempt to stay around suburban areas. Now they've introduced Uber rush which is a delivery service for businesses as well I was chosen for it so hopefully that goes well!
Sukun Unosawa yeah bro i just started and i hear u theres way more pros then cons.
Cheers!
Eugene Byun cool😎
Uber and lyft are discussing pimps abusing their drivers
Bruh, better not be the guy canceling my 15 minute ramen orders...
Funny vid as always 😂 Noticed that at least your customers were waiting outside for you. Curbside, like we thought it was gonna be. Most markets though (including Nashville) customers expect delivery to door. Not fun when having to find apartment 1102 on building M in the middle of the night and it's raining. Yup. Good luck on next run!
im glad you did this video showing how it really is. im a uber driver and was thinking about doing it but it seems like it's not even worth it. uber don't want to give its drivers good pay to make it worth it. thanks for helping me with my desicion
love your narrative style dude. very clean
The best part was when he said to the lady I took 2 slices hope you don't mind !!! Lol that was funny !
Video: "$24.11 in two hours."
Me: "Ohh, sounds great!"
Video: "It's not the best..."
Me: "WTF?!?!?!"
Omg I freakin love your videos. Funny!!
Thanks for watching :)
WEST SIDE forever! Loved this vid fam.
Dude, you’re hilarious!! Love the video. I’ll stick to just driving passengers.
10 hours for $70 = $7/hr. Less than Fed minimum wage and WAY less than California minimum. That's a sucker's game even more than regular UBER.
YuSooKey.....and you have to supply the car, and all the associated costs that go with operating it.
it really depends they give you promotions after you work once or twice... my friend makes 735 in 3 days
All uber eats drivers complain about how much they get its rng based depending on what fatass is using uber eats but they make a shit ton doing a full day run all week so shut the fuck up lol of course it doesnt compare to a real job but its alot of money just to pay for gas and snacks smh
@@laladeity2196 I did a 2 hour 'test' run my 1st day to see if I wanted to mess with UE. Ended up making $98 in 2 hours of deliveries, so in my area at least it's worth it. There are people making good money doing app gigs, but if people think it's a low wage scam = less competition. 💸💰💸
_The coastal suburbs along the fringes of the city pay the most for me, the inner city ends up costing me tips & parking is a hassle._
thanks for the review...im in ATL and i just signed up. gonna give it a go.
Great video and inside look! I've hesitated to do UberEATS cuz I've heard wait times can be long. I guess if there is boost that can bring your pay up. It's a great concept. But for now I'll just stick to Lyft!
Rich Richie Use my promocode to get $100 bonus after your first 20 orders! Type in taylors23859ue or use my link! get.uber.com/p/eats-courier/?invite_code=taylors23859ue
I personally see it as a $10 an hour job (minimum wage is 11.40 here in ontario). but, it's not to bad. I tend to do it after I go to the gym or drop off my girlfriend. If you're lucky the delivery/deliveries bring you closer to home. At least it's a job you can do whenever you want.
REPLY
This guy kept it real, thanks.
The one thing I do like about Uber Eats is that the customer comes to you to get the food, you don't have to get out of your car, and deliver it. You basically just handed them the food, and you were done. Unless I missed something, please tell me, but I like that part!
Question. Are you given a PEX card to pay for the deliveries or do you have to pay with your own money?
Great video, I like the ride along. But I don't see how you hit 13 something. How many miles was the trip?
Must be getting lots of generous tips. Good.
I got a 10dollar cash tip once I was happy... I drive in rich areas only
You gotta take advantage of Eats when it's boosting. We get 2.5 x Boost here in Jersey City, NJ.
Do we need a pizza bag for ubereats considering most pizza places have delivery services? I have one uber insulated bag, is this enough?
question because to me the bags don't look that big have you had many interactions that caused you not to be able to fit all the food in the bag
Those hooks were amazing!
Ayyye! Thanks
RideShare Tips do you know the titles?
I dont remember, sorry. Deleted the edit after I uploaded this
Not now not ever. NO Eats. Its like waiting tables for crumbs!
2:02 “that’s it. LETS GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE” 😂😂
Do they paint the nearest car to the restaurant or the nearest car to the delivery point. What happens if you cancel an order if the restaurant is taking too long? Do you get punished for canceling an order?
lets get the fuck outta here 😂😂😂
I have questions:
I've been driving for 3 days now and I'm noticing something I didn't see on the first 2 days called "Min Fare Supplement". Its only on a few orders though. How is this determined? It can't be mileage because there's one order that was 1.06 miles away with it, and another order that was 1.06 mi without it, so how is this factored in and why don't I get it on every delivery? Also, I've seen comments mentioning something called 'Boost'. What is that, and is that in all areas because I've never seen it?
Things I wish I could change: The pay. The End.
..Seriously though, I wish you could rate a customer after the order is completed. Right now I only have the option to thumbs up or down while the order is still out for delivery..
I'm about to get a real job, but I want to start thumbing down everyone that doesn't tip and put that for the reason in the comment section in hopes that people (and uber) might get the 'hint'.. (but I cant do that because I dont know ive been tipped or not until long after the order has been completed)..
When I delivered pizzas almost everyone tipped, plus I got paid minimum wage + commission. So why are uber customers such cheapskates? You'd think they'd tip better because you can get sushi and other high end food from exotic places that normally wouldn't deliver..
Out of 20+ orders, Im lucky to get 2 or 3 tips and it's not worth destroying your car for $5/hr. Its not like Im late either. I almost always get to the restaurant before the food is ready and I race it to the location and keep it in a hot bag etc. My profile says "High Ratings". Does your rating eventually get you more pay or what? Someone using their own vehicle should be making $15-20/hr just to break even with minimum wage, But my best night I averaged $9.79/hr on Sat and it was non stop driving for almost 10 hrs. That's not good considering mcdonalds starts at $12.50 where I live.
Thanks for the upload i always wondered about uber eats they suck.Out here in Connecticut there no more surges on uber eats. I don't know about this uber eats
Because you have to do it in the right area. Right time and day Friday nights are where I make the most money..
Quick question...is it easy or hard to find parking at the restaurants where you pick up the food?
In LA, its a bit tough. For both pick ups and drop offs
A delivery boy that doesn't get tipped and working for nickels. Sweet deal.
Did you watch the video? I said its not good
I saw that. Was generally speaking, but i think pretty much everything uber/rideshare related is a complete waste of time. No tips, 1970's taxi rates, etc., and all while you destroy your car, incur all the expenses, and give uber their 25% or more cut. It's a gimmick industry that feeds on the desperate.
what do u do if you showed up at the drop off location and the recipient is not there and you can't get a hold of anyone?
So what do you do when you get to the restaurant? Do you pay for their food? I’m confused
AquA Skyline You go inside and tell them youre with UberEats and give them the order number. Then they give you the food. Its already paid for by the customer
ahhhh okay thanks, i was confused too about if you pay in the place you go.
Dope video bro. I'm going to be trying ubereats soon but I don't look forward to it after watching the video lol
Thanks! I would definitely recommend signing up for DoorDash and GrubHub as well. A lot of times, UberEats is slow, so it's best to have multiple delivery apps installed just incase you're not getting any orders from the one. Good Luck!
I'm going to be serving in the National Guard for 6 years. I want to do Uber Eats as a side job, can I get any opinions on this?
Just wanted to say at the 1:13 mark, the Isaac Hayes tune is the SHIT! Good editing. But also maybe the tips would pour in if it wasn't curbside delivery. Here in Wisconsin, if the drivers don't come to the door, UberEats gets contacted.
My car (2010 year) wont be good for Uber X from March 31, 2018. So only 3 months left. I have a half decent 40 hour job but I still need extra $150 a week to live comfortably. My question is, if I do eats 10 hours on weekends, can I clear 150 after gas and taxes? I live in Toronto.
Baba Zehri I thought they changed so u can drive a 2005 and up
Hey bro. Thanks for putting out this video. In my 30 something years I have never heard of a food delivery guy that gets no tips. I just can't even grasp this concept. Uber is totally wrong for this. That lady puts in 10 hours a day to make peanuts. DEPLORABLE to it's FINEST! DEPLORABLE to it's FINEST! Shame!
Joe Budd I did a 10 hrs shift the other day and I make $167 I usually only do 5 to 6 hrs per days making around 110 to $120
Can you do ubereats at the same time as regular uber driving? As in during slow times you make a delivery or 2 ?
dddddoggy Yep. Just go your local Hub and ask them to create a profile just for delivery and another just driving. You can even have another one with both mixed together (not recommended because of food smells-- pax may ding your stars). 😉
Uber should add a way to tip in UberEats! I always tip my UberEats delivery person with cash. Now I see why they are so grateful for $1.
Yeah, don't leave it up to uber to dictate whether you give a tip...have a few bucks in cash around! I always tip, and especially after watching videos like this one!
Keep saving your money, everyone!
Do you have to carry insulated bag with you into the restaurant ?
boross41 you dont have to. I keep mine in the car at all times
Thank you brother!
2 drop offs, $13.30 which is WAY more than Uber POOL and X right?
Cool, I'm trying it now in San Diego, trying to figure out if it's better than Door Dash...
They don't' do any checks on your car if only applying for UberEats. My friend got signed up with a trashy car, he just cant' do passenger pickups. All drivers in my area are saying the income from it really isn't very good compared to passenger side of things. BUT, it's far less drama and if they cancel you get free goodies sometimes :P
I've been told DoorDash doesn't contact driver till food is ready to go where as many places are basically wasting your time when doing it as Uber.
Dude, you got good music taste. What’s the background songs?
Do you drive with you foot on the dash
What camera do you use? It’s nice
Tasha Mac This one was just with my old Samsung Galaxy S6
Keep it up :)
I like your music
What's up with u not getting of the car for the delivery? Where do you live?
Los Angeles. It's basically curbside delivery here. Most of the customers are waiting outside as I am pulling up
I'll only ever use UberEats to supplement DoorDash or GrubHub and only if they've got a boost running at 1.8x or higher.
how much did you spend in gas?
I am just starting. Do I get a debit card or how does that work
my first day with UberEats was yesterday, did 3 hours, 1.5 hours of driving, made $38, 4 deliveries from 4 different restaurants, $32 from Uber, one $6 tip, 3 deliveries to nice places, one to an apartment building, guess where i got the tip? the apartment! (nice places: high end hotel, bank office, nice home)
Is it possible to pay with cash?
I was considering doing Uber Eats but after watching your Video, I'm Good. I just Recently quit Lyft cause its a Waste of Time and Money. I'm surprised those Annoying as Chicks did Not tip you.
They did. They have tips now.
John Smith hey man, from my experience with delivering with a bike I make an average of 23$/hr. It probably sucks because he's moving around with a car and that's takes time to get to destination due to traffic. However with a bike you maneuver easily and with the proper bike attachments(phone mount) you'll be doing well. I just said this cause I'm making decent money so I'd say you try it out for yourself first and see if you like it instead of deciding based on another person's experience.
Jay Crew lol
When you pick up do you have to get off??
Glen Garcia yes, you have to go insode the resturant to pick up the food
@1:33 exactly why im doing it 😂 thank goodness im not the only one. And also i dont want ppl to leave dirt in my car
2:46 salt and pepper were rap artist 🤣😂and heavy D also
hahahaha, I know! Thank you for being the first one to finally notice lol
I've just signed up for uber, but I want uber eats, not driving people. How can I get in touch with them to tell them that I want "eats" not "passenger?"
padussia you should have signed up on the UberEATS website, not the main website.
Thank you. I'll do that and see if they take me even if my care is more than fifteen years old. Do you think they will take my car being that old?
padussia The UberEATS website says your car must be a 1996 model or newer.
padussia Simply read the website thoroughly.
Oh, thank you so much for this information. I really needed it, because my car is a 1999, and really need the extra income.
Time is money! Money is time! But we all know some is better then done! 😁
oh" wow you made a nice video
Why is your leg up on the dashboard??
In singapore ubereat got take over by grabfood. I'm a grabfood cyclist, i just make a video showing how grabfood work and what it's like working as a cyclist for grabfood and of cos how i'm paid.
I love working 4 Uber Eats plus the fries are delicious....
Lol!
great video now I'm truly convinced not to try ubereats NO TIP$ sticking with grub hub
R u still with ubereats?
They screwed me up big time. Customer made mistake with address, I was so nice that I actually deliver the food to the new address which is about 7km, called the support and paid me 0.95km saying distance was correct, I kept telling them it was wrong. So if you're a driver if customer made mistake with address just take the food and dont bother delivering it. Uber eats doesnt fix it
Your 4 trips is like my 5 trips on a lazy day when I dont want to go out to Chicago...I call it the Suburbanites Lament. better get back out there.
It’s funny how new driver expect to make $100 or more between 3 to 4 hrs after a week driving finding out you gotta put a least 6 to 8 to make $100 they quit and talk shit about the company then they go back to their 9 to 5 regular job making $70 a day lol 😂 You wanna make good money you gotta work hard you can’t expect to make good money without moving a muscle.
I make decent money on stocks. The only thing I have to worry about is early onset of carpal tunnel.
J Montana companies like Ubereats devalue independent contractors who are using their own car and risking everything to deliver whatever it is. After customer receives their order, they ask if they want to tip the driver one two or three dollars or other. Fuck them. I did this a few days and I noticed hardly anyone tipped and it wasn't because of me. I made plenty of tips as a waitress while in college. Ubereats is an asshole like doordash which I'll explain why another day.
Doordash needs to be sued. They tell you you will receive a guaranteed amount for x de livery before you accept it and instead and also pretend that you will receive that guaranteed amount plus the tips but instead when you get paid you only receive the guaranteed amount funded by the tips received... meaning you don't get both - you only get the tips and not the amount they said you would get to do the delivery (shows up before you swipe to accept the delivery) so if they were honest you would be getting the guaranteed amount and the tip but instead they're using the customers tips to pay for the delivery and you. These companies are disgusting. It's 100% fraud. I'm trying to find time to get to a law office asap cause I definitely have a case. Their wording on the rate pay on the website also pretends you'll get the guaranteed amount and the tip. It's a class action lawsuit waiting.
no. fucking. way. we both deserve better
Uber is an excellent way to learn the value of a dollar.
I do Uber eats on weekends when they have promotions and I make $150 from 8:30am-1:00 pm on a Friday and another $135 on a Saturday and $85 on a Sunday.
And I put around 80 miles Everytime I do it.
Bam Bam Zuniga so profit is?
i deliveried got $3.75 and Uber fee $1.31 and $ 2.44 left for me and no fucking tip all order
Anyone that's worked real labor bullshit jobs would know that this is a pretty decent job. Not hauling ass outside in the cold or hot for hours maybe 10min break and that's it. But with this you can still make ends meet just gotta put them hours in.
How u drive Uber both ur feet on the dashboard? Piazza boy! I’m kidding bro!
Lmfaoooooo ....let's get the fuck out of here! Had me rolling!!!
I would do ubereats and uber at the same time 😂😂
I can not agree with this video more. I don't like Ubereats and I don't know how to turn it off. However, I learn to swipe "the recipient did not answer?" and I will be like waiting for the 5 minutes to go by and have his food. I did not know that trick when I started working for Ubereats, and one time I spent almost 1 hour to find the recipient, and the recipient did not answer the phone. Another time, I spent half an hour looking for a food trailer hidden in the very back corner of a parking lot. It is really not worth it compared to UberX
Do postmates or doordash. I only worked 4 hours today and I know I made more than $60
did u get any tips?
no tips, just like Uber
$142 in three days doing it part time i work a 9-6:30 job so i usually put for hours after that, i got alot of deliverys from a deli ao i ve been posted near that and it works and yeah tips suck
1:59 Like!
Come down this should be treated as a side gig for extra pocket change, something you do on your day off when your board it should never be treated as a main source of income big mistake.
Not worth it 👎🏼
A line of people to pick up food?!
Wow that sucks I put in 8 hours and I make 140+ and that’s mostly McDonald’s orders. On a really good day I make 50+in 3 hours. Sucks for the lady. Plus I live in Oregon. Minimum wage is now 12
if i deliver your McDonald's,im dipping into your fries....
Ex Rodriguez foreal lol and most deliveries as for me have been at $3.25
Funny :-) My experience in UBEREATS for 1 weekend including 5 McD's orders in is....{drumroll} [If it comes up as McD, leave it BE!]
Ronald has obviously figured out that his customer is NOT the Uber driver, so they don't make food upon order like small-business restaurants do. Small-business restaurants treat drivers well, because it's a chance to make new money along with you. McD's start it when I ask for it, BEST CASE. We wait for food on our own time (other than those fries ) [no wait time pay], then find out it's a short trip because part of their business model is to have a restaurant within 3 miles of everyone in America. Once they close the lobby, you have to wait in the drive-thru line with no compensation for wait time. Please mark me as ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ "NOT LOVING IT".♪ ♪ ♪ If you're willing to drive for ($5-7/hour - gas) rather than $20-25 carrying people, McD's is a great gig.
If passenger-UBER is slow and it's dinner time, find an area dense in high-end restaurants and housing in a wealthy area and figure out through experience which restaurants have food ready for you consistently. Never take UBEREATS orders over people unless you're feeling like trying new shit, rather than the same old shit.
Disgusting
Ex Rodriguez asswipe
🤣😂😂
My Uber Eats driver admitted he had covid-19 was still working for them uber eats said it was not their problem since he was self-employed. They ban them in my community.
How is this even legal plus you have to pay for your gas
I don't know about uber but the Lyft platform rigs your ratings my last ride I gave was a 5 star rating and it brought my ratings from an 4.6 to a 4.7 then in seconds my rating dropped back down to a 4.6 and I didn't pick no one else so I got mad and I turned off my Lyft app and went home
ratings can be rigged
What's the song at 1:14??
Sorry, I couldn't find the exact song, but I get all my beats from this guy: ua-cam.com/users/CHUKImusicfeatured
RideShare Tips thank you
I don’t drive for Uber , but maybe get out of the car to deliver the food. I know I wouldn’t want to tip someone that just delivers a pizza like a drug deal.
They never gave me a bag to carry the food in just a sticker!
No way!
I'll be taking Uber today after 5pm. would be interesting if u pick me up :-)
Breitling Steel take a Lyft instead and don't forget to leave a tip! 😌
Riding with your leg up like that is not cool. It is dangerous to you and anyone else on the road with you. It destroys your reaction time in an emergency. As a professional you should know this. In fact, it's probably illegal to drive that way in most states. I am surprised Uber has not censured you and asked you to take out that part.
Wrong addresses should be fined $1
