Uber Ride Along: Giving Uber Eats A Second Chance

- I've been trying out Uber Eats more often off camera and realized that it's not as bad as I originally thought it was. You don't have to deal with people, it's less stressful, and you don't have to keep your car spotless. In this video, I take you on another Ride Along to show you how much you can make with Uber Eats.

Nice video; great content, clear explanations, seemed honest, and was entertaining and engaging. 👍🏻
I like the look you gave when she didn't tip, lol!
Thanks for the tips. I do DoorDash and Favor as well. Just signed up with UberEats and was approved today. Picked up my bag at a local uber store and will do a night shift. I live in Dallas, Texas. I also have a regular ft job. Hopefully Ill make decent money part time. I am not comfortable with driving people around hahaha.I
TheJman16165 where is a local Uber store at in California?
Thanks for the video brother!
I've got a lot of respect for drivers because it seems like a humbling job.
I was curious where you usually stop at to use the bathroom. I know some places will only let you use the restroom if you buy something.
xHibachi24x I usually stop in at a fast food restourant. They are usually pretty busy, so they wont notice if you use their bathroom haha
you are lucky man .i saw your two videos, you always in the car to pass the food to the customer .i always walked down and give to the customer.
NoAH'ArK Now that's sucks because it's suppose to be a quick job on the go.
One time a customer gave me the wrong address, I already stood outside at the wrong address for about 5 minutes waiting for the person. I put the new address on my phone and somehow dumb ass google sent me down the street behind the persons house (I couldn't get to the person's house from here) so I was a bit lost and confused. anyways I got to the persons house (probably 8 minutes after already leaving the wrong address) mind you it was hot outside middle of the day, sunny as fuck, my car's a/c has a leak and isn't working, I'm sweating like crazy and the guy DIDN'T EVEN FUCKING TIP. I may egg his house one day.
Awesome Job! Love the video. I normally put in about 6 1/2 hours and get up to about $100. About 14 trips. Keep up the good work!
UberDude Hopefully Richmond will pick up. Hard to make that even with the 14 trips
I'm looking to make about 100 a day.
I made $35.15 in 6 hours with 10 trips. No-body tips and I deliver high end sushi and pizza orders worth $100 or more to houses worth $500k+.. I'm lucky to get 4 bucks on those orders which make me sit for 30-40 mins.. Where do you work??
for a second I thought he said 'cause I got laid.'
Ramon McNally lol what? when?
RideShare Tips in the start at 25 sec.
hahaha! I was trying to say, "I just got lazy"
😂😂
Lmfaoo. Me to! I posted asking the same thing but then I saw you already asked😂
I've never had to sign for an UberRush delivery......but we just started in Richmond. Money not so great. We only have $1.00 boosts. No boosts like "surges"
Awesome videos man 🤙
i drive for uber eats and another app based delivery and when i'm driving i keep both apps on and take trips from both i average 14-16 an hour payment
You are so funny 😂 And I am so nervous because just today i got accepted to work in to uber eats and omg i am nervous and just watching this video makes me get confidence.. 😊
Everyone is a little nervous their first time. Dont worry about it. You'll realise how easy it is after your first trip. Good luck!
@@RideShareTips thank you 😊
My experience with UberEATS is it can be okay but only with promos and incentives like Boost and Quest
True that. I just like not having to deal with passengers sometimes too.
I'd recommend adding DoorDash and GrubHub too. The tips can sometimes make a huge difference and they give you more info on the order before you accept or decline. So you have a better idea of what you're getting into and how much you'll earn for each trip. I usually run multiple apps while I'm delivering just waiting for those juiciest of requests
Rideshare Genius same here
Here in Oz, the food is always ready, and heaps of trips I did 7 trips in about an 4 hours and that was my first day
I cant stand living half my life in one job in the same environment for hours on end. I have no problem working but i have 2 part time jobs and i do uber eats on my days off. I find it to be less stressful i make enough money to live comfortable and im not confined to one space with the same people 40 hours a week. Uber eats deff not a full time job but if you do it right can be a game changer and well worth it.
Hey this doesn't seem too bad, I just signed up, I don't live in LA but, I do have one question.... you gotta get your own insulated bag? Or does uber send you one?
Uber sends you one. It took about a week to come in the mail though. If you don't feel like waiting that long, just buy one. They are pretty cheap.
RideShare Tips fo sho, thanks!
did you get the bag?
Great vid!
I think they do pay for pick up. Been doing uber eats for a few days in L.A and I'm getting 3.5 pick up + 1.3 per mile to drop off and 1.10 for delivery fee
Jr Silva thanks. Yeah true, but it doesnt matter how far away you are. Its 3.50 regardless if you drove 5 miles or 1 mile to pick it up
"Full on Man" Nice! great vids
Question. Had you ever have to deal with the application giving you an error saying the following "Your vehicle is not allowed to operate in Inputcity". I'm driving a KIA Soul and I obviously can't do UberX here in New York and for some reason I can't do UberEats either. And the support for Uber is horrible, they respond with automatic replies and they don't take the time to actually read and understand the issue.
happened to me, and you're going to have to go to the uber greenlight hub in your area or whatever its called and they have to 'fix' your account on their end.
Doing this myself in between IT Jobs and while working on UA-cam videos and it's not been bad so far. I can't figure out the whole suspend acceptance while im on a delivery as the videos all give instructions based on the older app version.
Great Vid, What dash cam do you use by Chance?
Hey! I know this isn't really pertaining to the video, but I am an Uber/Lyft driver myself with a 2013 Honda Civic LX and I was wondering how the leg room in your back seat is with the Prius! Is it pretty spacious? I am looking to possibly upgrade leg room and get another car but can't really tell with the back seat in the shots in the video.
The Prius is actually pretty spacious. There plenty of legroom for the people sitting in the back seat
Thanks for the reply!
what happened to the people getting the food and you meeting them? I like to hear the audio commentary between you and the customer! That was the best part of the videos!!
uberEats offers pretty cool incentitives. In my area, they got a bonus of 100+ deliveries for a week and you get a $1,000. Doing 100 deliveries in 1 week is very attainable, though you'd have to work hard for it. You get 3-4 deliveries per hour so the math is good.
3 to 4 deliveries is way to high, in Sacramento anyways
I just started doing UberEats today and I found it hard for me to find parking sometimes. A lot of restaurants in LA don't have a designated parking spot, but are you paying for metered parking or do you search for free parking and walk to the restaurant? Most people also don't tip... :/ I did 5 trips and only made $32.
J C Ive actually been doing DoorDash and GrubHub instead for the past few weeks. I like it alot more. I havent been getting any requests lately from Ubereats, and I rarely get tips either. So I dont really do it anymore. As far as parking, if the restourant doesnt have a parking lot, I'll look for a parking meter and put in a few dimes. I'll admit that there have been times where I park at a red curb and run in real quick to grab the food. Its risky/stupid, but I've been getting away with it haha. The good thing with Ubereats though is that most of the time, the customer will meet you curbside for the dropoff. I would highly recommend siging up for GrubHub. When the request comes in , it tells you the destinations and how much you will make before you accept it. Im working on a video on it right now actually
Oh awesome! Thanks for the reply! That's great that GrubHub tells you the destination & how much you'll actually make before you accept. Not knowing where I'll be delivering until I pick up the food is something I'm not really liking on UberEats. I'll definitely look into DoorDash & GrubHub. I've also heard people talking about Postmates so I may look into that as well. Looking forward to your video on GrubHub!! :)
Yeah me to on that I'm looking forward to it soon.
Love the Music.
Are tips factored in at the beginning ? Or do you have to wait a couple mins/days for them to tip you? Pls answer me
With UberEats, the customer has the option to Tip after they get their food. Sometimes they do it right away, sometimes not. And most times, people dont tip at all. I blame Uber for that. They didnt add the tipping option until recently. They made passengers/customers feel like there is no need to tip the driver. Its a shame
I am new, but where do you go to apply for a delivery driver. Great video btw and very informative.
Benedict Joyce You can do it on the UberEATS app when you go to your personal icon on the bottom right of the app. A "Deliver with Uber" option will be right above the settings with a grocery bag icon next to it. It will tell you everything you need to do once you go to that icon.
Hi. what are you using to film this?
I'm a boost and quest delivery driver only (hopefully uber doesn't mind!). I live in the heart of a large city and I barely drive my own car to work so it's a plus for me when I do a couple deliveries here and there during lunch or dinner hours. I literally made 6 bucks driving 1/2 of a mile. and it took me 15 minutes for the total ONLY because the customer was too lazy to come outside. great exercise I guess. I also had a job where it took me roughly 40 minutes for a double delivery and I made $18.
Up here in Sactown, people around here saying they barely getting around $10hr with UberEats. Confirmed with friends doing DoorDash, he's averaging $20hr. Soooo, not sure what's up with all that.
I do doordash and i sign up for an hour end up doing it for a little more than the hour and I do 3 to 4 trips and make no more $40 vs. Doing it for 3 hours to 4 and making the 4 to 6 trips and making no more than $55 . I stick to 1 hours drliveries.
If I had a car, and a drivers license, I would sign up for either UberEats, Door Dash, Grubhub, etc. Now unfortunately, none of those services are available in my town, and the closest area where they're accepted, is probably Kansas City. So,if I were to sign up for any of those services, I would have to travel there all the time! But, My "work schedule" would be: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for one week, and then the next week would be Tuesday, and Thursday. Oh and the hours would be, 8 a.m., to 4. p.m.
Did you calculate any cash tips in your daily total? Also, how does the $45 bonus work?
I didn't get any cash tips that day :( For that week, If I did 15 trips between Monday-Thursday, I would get a $45 bonus
Great vid. Bonus should be added for total earnings for the day. 69.14 + 45 bonus = $114.14 total.
That means that your average was $9.88 per trip and you maybe put 100 miles on your car. You actually profited. Doing Uber X or even worse Uber POOL you would have driven more and made much less.
Anyone suggest this for a college student? Flexible hours and all? I dont have a very consistent schedule so I think this would be good for me for extra cash or something. Any thoughts?
what happens with the food if for ever reason customer rejects the order. After informing Uber what is the policy,do you take food back to the restaurant?.
Tony B Ive never had that happen to me. A customer will always take food that they paid for. Unless the order is wrong, but I check at the restourant that its the correct order. One time, when I was doing Grubhub, a customer didnt answer the door or their phone. After 5 minutes of waiting, I called Grubhub, and they told me I can eat the food myself. 20 minutes later, the customer called me back. I didnt answer :)
i feel like uber is better for those who have a side job as well, he made more money than i do in two days of work so uber here i come
Roterra Jones that right but it better with people when doing Uber than just UberEats!
Lol. Can you still get a bonus if you just started a couple months ago 😊😉😉
I do skip the dishes. I get 250 dollars a week working 25 hours but spend 125 dollars on gas alone. Add increased insurance from the miles (an extra 40 bucks a month) and wear and tear on the vehicle and its not really worth it.
How does the paying for the food work? Is it already paid for by the customer via card or what?
Yeah, the food is already paid for by the time you pick it up
Do you only make money off deliveries or do you also get paid on the hour?
Black Goku just from deliveries unfortunately
This kind of jobs for me are meant only as a second income...
Like that you wont put so much wear and tear
On your car
bluestar beats True on that to.
Yes do it as a second job.
$69.14 in 6 hours is only $11.52 per hour, that isn't very good. I make $18 per hour doing UberX, but I do only drive Friday and Saturday evenings/nights so I am hitting the busiest times.
Square Peg Your opinion. Some people cant drive at night or dont want to..
If you factor in gas and depreciation,..you made about 38 bucks ,...
haha yea, he just made all that money, whats overhead? oh right the major expense that uber laughs at you, and you pay yourself
Do you get the money right away or you have to wait until the end of the week?
Loud Thunder You can do an instant payout at the end of the day if you want. I never do though. I get a direct deposit once a week
Yo this is random af. But did you used to live in Philly? And go to Washington has?
High school**
Haha yea, I did! Graduated in 2010. Who's this?
RideShare Tips my name is Bryan Carpenter. I was cool with Tom o Keefe (only person I can think of you mightve known) I was a grade higher than you I would've graduated in 09.
Oh yeah, I know that name haha! Thats crazy. You probably knew my sister, Olga
RideShare Tips yeah. I can always recognize a familiar face. But yeah I know her. Small world man.
UberEats just arrived here in Jacksonville FL. How did you get that UberEats bag?
Uber sends you one when you sign up
Well I just brought one and hasn't send me one at all but I'm waiting in the mail for one to come soon.
Do they have the bonuses every week or are they kind of rare?
They have them often, but Uber is always changing them up. Right now in LA, if you do 15 rides/deliveries, you get like a $25 bonus
Whats the $45 bonus for?
what state are you in? cause I don't get paid that much at all
Lisa Ackwood he's obviously in LA
$11.52 hr gross. Sad compensation. Fun and entertaining video well done. I hope you make some money on the click on the ads. ☺️
what do you do with food when customer cant be seen and waited the 5 minutes do we toss it?
what a waste of food
Its only happened to me once before with GrubHub. I called the guy several times and waited 10+ minutes before I called GrubHub Support. They told me I can just click "Delivered" and eat it myself haha
Ubereats will continue to be my side bitch till they implement tips
I fuck with these keep making the eats
I don't understand how you're making that much. Maybe it's different in LA, but up here in the Bay Area I only have to pay 5 dollars for each trip. I'm not a driver - I'm an "eater" and order food through UberEATS all the time but regardless of the price or distance, it's always a 4.99 Uber charge. I got a burger today delivered from a place maybe 3 miles away or so that was about 5 bucks and the total I paid was around 10 ( including tax and 5 bucks for the UberEATS delivery charge). Is Uber just losing money on trips like that? I thought they just gave 4 bucks to the driver for delivery and kept a dollar for themselves or something like that.
Uber has a special deal with restaurants so they actually get a discount on the food and charge the customer normal restaurant price.
Can you just drive for UberEATS ? I am part time Uber driver and sign up for UberEATS I get request for UberEATS while I'm driving for Uber. How can I just choose UberEATS?
Bob Mack stop by your nearest Uber office or inspection station and have them update your profile. I am able to log out of Regular Uber and just do UberEats if I want and vice versa.
Thanks!
Only made that much with a fluke $20 awesome tip
How can i change to bycicle to partner to deliver
Do they have to come to your car when you drop it off?
Most of the time, yes they do. It's basically curbside delivery
I got fired from Uber eats for alot of missing deliverys...u think Uber eats would get me back..??
Give them a call or send them an email. Maybe they will reactivate your ubereats account
You dont have to get out of the car to deliver it?
that is the part i feel funny about too..i always get out of the car.
After gas that's lower then minimum wage brahh
Why not do postmates and door dash? You can get tips.
Joe Budd I havent gotten around to signing up for them yet
True on that to.
how do you turn on ubereats
You have to sign up for it online
7 trips in 6 hrs lmao wow bruh I do 3 hrs for break fast and then break then another 3 for lunch and another 3 for dinner and if it's weekends I do late nights till 3 am and 24 trips a dayv
Dude you're driving in a richie part of the LA area, that really sucks.. After your expenses and gas, guys working at Mcdonalds are literally making double of your hourly wage and they're likely getting free food to boot.. I think you ywould fair a lot better working directly for a Pizza joint that offers delivery.. Like papa johns.. You'll make $15 hour wage, plus they pay you for every deliverly and you'll likely get a 3 to 5 dollar tip from the customer on average.
It's not that bad as a filler. I make typically $5-6 for 10-15 mins of work per order.
Can we see your beach bod? Haha
Next year..
I couldn’t do this job , if I don’t make $200 a day then it’s not worth my time
Not bad
Uber eats sucks. Now everyone wants you to deliver to the door, this can take an extra 15 minutes in apartment complex not getting paid.
Right?! Especially in LA where it takes forever to find a parking spot. I ALWAYS meet my drivers outside when I order food
Ive had people order 4 drinks and a shit ton of food and when i pull up just sit on the porch and wait for me to make 2 trips to my car to bring it all to them. Things have changed.
does he get cash without tax?
I get a direct deposit every week. Uber send you a 1099 tax form at the end of the year and you have to pay taxes
Guys the phone they give you charges 10/mounth
Make more than being a EMT
I work full time at 10.60 a hour
Dude you could put on some big circle glasses and pretend to be Mac Lethal
Just had to google who that is. I guess I sort of see it haha
You remind me of Evan Peters.
Kane means man in hawaiian
Anyone that thinks anybody does this as a full time job with no other work is out of their heads. This is an on the side job for those of you commenting with your ignorant comments..
Not a bad day? That pay sucks!
Jeri Okamura He's probably living with his parents. That's may be why.
Does anyone ever tip you cash
Those numbers come out to less than Uber x big time
👍
good vids, but I'm in the country and I make more money. $11 is not worth it
maybe this will be better on a motorcycle
You're not in the right market, I get paid $4.80 to pick that shit up and $1.30 a mile to get it there. Minus their cut of course. I would get rid of that Toyota shit. I have a new one and it took a shit after 2 months of having it. You will make more money doing Eats because unfortunately in this society food is worth more than lives.
Preparing food is work. Being alive is not.
Lol summer bod and KFC don't go well champ
Maybe next year :(
Why so long 6 hours 7 trips you should be making three or four trips an hour dude
Homo sapiens
No,..maybe 31
Wow... Uber eats is a total waste of time.... he made like $10/hr.....
Transition driving timelapses don't match the story. Nerds are irritated.
Stories From the Dash hahaha
👍
