IndyyGold ,what about taxes. Do you end up owing a lot of money
I work a 9-5 but do doordash on the side. I try and do 3-4 deliveries a day which is an extra $150-$300 a week which helps as a 21 year old Savin up for an apartment lol

Wym
I do doordash fulltime, pushing like 60 plus hours per week on doordash. I usually make $800-$1000 every week! Rent is 1200 a month, so I'm stacking up those savings!!
How do you manage at tax time? I'm trying to figure out how to save for taxes. Thanks
@@godschild8701 juxt stash 10 percent off every deposit
What car you use?
I’m doing doing doordash too, I make about 100$ within 5-6 hours it’s great, you can start and stop whenever you want and it makes me so happy, plus I don’t have to talk to people really other than to pick up or drop off and you just get to listen to music and drive around
Does doordash pay their workers an additional amount on top of each tip the customer gives her order?
@@Bizzare77777 yes they do
@@Daniellespah Sweet! How much on average is the additional amount they give you on top of the tip? others keep saying you only get the tip. Thanks.
@@Bizzare77777 there’s a base pay or extra pay during peak hours or when they really need more dashers out so it could be from like 3-7$ extra, base pay you’ll usually get at least 3 dollars even if somebody doesn’t tip and I simply do not take those orders (clearly they don’t appreciate the service so why would I) but yeah you get a base pay of at least 3$ before tip and then the peak hours add ons. although the only time I’ve ever seen them hit 7$+ was during a really bad snow storm
Sound like a dream job to me
Not a lot of entrepreneurial minded people in the comments. Gas is merely a business expense and those can be written off and deducted from taxes. Just keep your receipts and document.
Girl! I was thinking the same thing. I was like, "It amazes to see two opposite mindsets just by reading the comments." Excuses don't make money.
i would also either take pictures of my gas receipts or photo copy them because some of the heat activated paper fades over time and you won't be able to claim the deduction if the amount can't be clearly read. if you are pro at this get a gas card and get a monthly statement in the mail for record keeping.
It isn't the gas/car expense she should worry about it's the self-employment tax she should be concerned over. That $90ish she earned is more like $70 after self-employment tax.
@@wildroses4944 that's the thing, you have to keep track of everything the gas/car expense can be used to offset the self employment tax if you file quarterly and keeps your operating budget higher than it normally would be if you file yearly.

For real
I’m a Doordash driver. The main problem I have with Doordash is their unrealistic expectations for doing orders on-time.
True
Truth…. Yassss 🙌🏾👏🏾
I've gotten where they have you to be at the restaurant 5 minutes before I even gotten it and to be delivered in a minute and then I got a mark against me. I'm so mad
My least favorite thing about it, is that they consistently keep offering bad deliveries over and over again, no matter how many times I decline such a delivery. And by bad delivery, I mean like, where the number of miles I'd have to drive is literally double the pay amount. If I get an offer for a delivery that pays $4 and I have to drive 8 miles for it, I decline it. It then asks me why I declined it, and I either select "distance is too far" or "order is too small". Okay, so you'd think because it has that feature, it would eventually learn your preferences, right? But NOPE! It'll keep offering me order after order of that type, no matter how many times I decline such orders and giving that reason for it. And so then, my acceptance rate goes down, because of how many orders I've declined, when the whole reason I declined so many orders is because THEY keep offering me orders that have crappy pay/mileage ratios! What's the point in them asking you the reason you're declining an order, if they're not going to adjust future offers accordingly? You'd think that with how advanced algorithms are these days, they could have one in dasher where it eventually gets the idea of what types of orders you generally accept and don't.
I think Door Dash is a good opportunity. You don't have to worry about dressing up for interviews, because DD doesn't require interviews. You can do your own business as a living, and nobody telling you what to do. No drama, and no conflict.

700 a week is definitely possible if you know the good spots. I’ve been doing it in the southern subs of Detroit and making 100-200 every night
Do you make your own schedule ? I just started yesterday, and barely made any damn thing, I’m guessing If I make my own schedule , I’m guaranteed to get orders .
@@keeshjones637 it depends on the days and times you work and your area of course. In my area seems like Thursdays and the weekends are busier. Maybe instacart would be a better fit for you. I would just like to say something to any and everyone who is doing food delivery or even ride shares. Do your research about any company you are considering. After you decide know that you are a contractor which qualifies you as a small business! There are some great tax incentives and deductions you qualify for. Example: Your cell phone service, a portion of your rent, your internet service, your mileage and fuel, uniforms and the care of said uniforms! There may be even more, contact a CPA to get the full details. It pays to establish and register a business name in your state and get a tax I.D. number. Even if it's your side hustle, you may as well get the maximum benefit!
Excellent advice Mr. Noble. Thank you sir.
Melvin Noble thank you for the info!
Melvin Noble, great advice!
Portion of your rent?! Which company
Doesn't matter which company. The deduction is from your taxable income.

Love to hear that!!! Be safe :)
Good tips! Another good habit I have is if I see a restaurant that has beverage holders, I'll grab a few and keep them in my trunk. Occasionally you'll bump into a scenario where an order has multiple beverages and the restaurant is out of holders. When that happens, I take the order to my car like usual and grab a holder from my trunk that I can use. It makes taking it to the customer a lot easier.
At first I thought it was bull then I worked 17 hours and made $397 dollars which was pretty much 35-40 hours worth of work at my old job

Do we keep track of these things for tax purposes?
@@Kayla-fu2sb To be honest, Im a fairly new dasher my self and haven't had to file for taxes yet, but to my understanding you should keep track of milage and gas for deductions
Strong Man hey man , what do you mean by that ? Like writing down mileage ? Every time we use door dash ?
@@chrisledesma3663 not a doordasher, but you want to write down every mile you get while doing your job, you can write it off on taxes and save some money, because you'll be filing a 10-99, also save your gas receipts as well and you should save receipts for any food you buy for your rides and lunches or food on your breaks, I believe you can write off some repairs for your car as well
@Nasir Sharieff not sure if you can make up a number, might want to talk to who ever does your taxes, but each mile you use while driven can be written off in taxes, that's just means you can get a tax break (aka money back even though you it cost wear and tear and gas) I would keep a log and write down you're car milage everytime you leave for work and return home, I'm not sure how much you can get back in your state but for it's usually not close to a dollar, but it add up over time, you should also save gas and food recipes while driving as you can claim them on your taxes as well.
You could maybe do a estimate of how many mile you drove and give that as a write off, but I'm not a tax attorney so don't take my word for it
It's funny how people always point out that your $700 a week pay is before taxes. These same people will tell you how much their yearly salary is like that's not a before tax figure.. People are hilarious..
El Alim true true! Good way to think about it.
or buying health insurance or adding wear and tear on the car after all these expenses pretty much working for minimum wage.
$700 before tax a week is still decent. Imo
Boris it comes to less than 2k a month... and to make that much so frequently you end up working over 10 hour days. So in the long haul even short haul, youre working a significantly larger amount of time than hourly/salary jobs, which averages to be significantly less than the average of working those jobs. Not only that but you also are paying for gas expenses, without reimbursement which does add up. ALSO , shes getting absolutely no benefits from this employment so she is going to end up paying higher rates for healthcare, dental, etc. this of course assuming she has no other full time employment doing this for her .
Boris oh ANDDD of course she then legally has to pay a higher premium for car insurance since its being used for business.

You could tell this beautiful girl is not stuck up, she seems nice and down to earth, unlike the other ones that reviewing on UA-cam who seem to be more about themselves that the product or company they're reviewing. Great video and I am looking forward for more.
You are good! I love the details and the tips you share.
No cap my average for the week is around $700 to $800 depending on what my week is looking like I may get a little less or a little more one week I damn near made $1000 only bad thing is gas and mileage I don’t be cheap putting gas in and my car done ran it up in mileage but I love this job decent bread for my time I do it in the richer communities too just to maximize my earnings too👍🏽
Ârthûr Hūñçhø spot on! I’m around $750 a week easily that’s with one day off.
Trump TheTerrorist Trump2020 🇺🇸
Trump TheTerrorist stfu bitch
@Trump TheTerrorist what kind of car are you driving!! I only spend 12 a day. Gas prices are relatively cheap right now though.
Trump TheTerrorist $250 a week for gas??? Fam do you drive a Dodge Viper at WOT in the city 😂😂
Normally on my days off I take my 1981 Corvette out and just drive it around for 2-5 hours. So...decided to sign up for Door Dash and did my FIRST 3 dashes today in my classic Corvette and made $35 dollars for something I would have done anyway for free! WOOT!
that’s dope, bouta do the same w my camera

Great video. I just started doing uber eats today. This video encouraged me to continue!
Cool video. We and other co workers will start up to work for DoorDash and you provided us a great explanation! 😀
Dang i have to work at least 8 hours a day constantly standing on my feet just to make $50. maybe i could consider this as a second job.
Jessica Lee what do you do??
Do it girl. I do Uber eats and I make at least $300 a week. Uber eats is just like this, but they have bonuses. Every 9 deliveries you get an extra $12 and $15 or $18 on holidays. Do 17, extra $30, more on holidays. Do 25, extra $50, and 32 rides is extra $85. & During certain times of the day, you get 1.1x-3.0x your usual pay because of peak times
Eric Mckoy is there pay reliable for Uber eats for full time? Like at least 20k at year
Eric Mckoy I literally started driving for ubereats any advice?
BallisticKnifeOverlord 6 Probably retail. That's how much you get paid at a restaurant or the mall.
Just a tip. I noticed you were accelerating heavily at lights, just take off easy and it will save you a lot of money.
mario condello true from the pizza guy lol, 90% of the time you don’t end up saving time anyway

mario condello thank you so much mario😘
Chrissy Smith have you made money from this? I’m interested.
I really enjoyed to watch your video. I’ve learned a lot thank you 🙏
Thanks for your help.... I just started this week and your tips are appreciated. ..
Note: dont expect to make this money everywhere. It depends on your area. I have worked 4-6 hour shifts and only made 15-30$ just because of a lack of orders. I've also worked nights and made over 100$.
Kenzie Richardson time of day matters too
That's what I was thinking. My city dont have it but 30 min away the next city does. I'm gonna try it. I just got my kit
Consider changing your default starting location
These people are telling lies. Factor gas, mileage, taxes, wear and tear on your car, needing a cell phone(I have a land line phone, so I had to purchase a cell phone in order o do door dash) lots of hours and most of the time you are not making min wage. Your wait could be long in some places. Some food drop off require long miles.
Linda Rollins but who uses land lines instead of cellphone?? Lol
People saying it's a lot of wear and tear on your car, but no it's not. Well on my car it doesn't. As long as you keep your car up like your suppose to, then your car will be just fine. Also I do doordash part-time faithfully, plus I'm a nail technician. I love it, I was doing it full time here in Nashville TN. I made $800 a week and it paied my bills, food, and etc. Now I'm just part-time, due to my nail business, and I make about $400 to $450 now. I will say it's not for everybody though, but them $5 and $6 adds up real quick. I decided to do it cause I just can't stand working for any body. I like the freedom of being my own boss, going and coming as I please. It's perfect for me especially being a nail tech whose building a clientele up for myself, and being able to fo this part-time until my book gets 100% full. Like I stated before it's not for everybody, but it's for me😊
I'm in Nashville also I want to try this for extra cash on the side what about taxes at the end of the year that everyone keeps complaining about!?
Same with me! I am a hairstylist tying to build up my clientele as well and I had gotten another job working for a local company in my area and it's just not for me! Hate working for somebody else! I was skeptical about signing up but your feedback has got me really wanting to go for it!
I agree that it’s not for everybody and I like that people use it for extra money, but Driving will put wear and tear on every car... no matter what you’re using it for, so might as well use things like door dash and Uber eats.
I did my second day at DoorDash yesterday
I don’t get a lot of people who order doordash around where I live so it’s sucks
I’m doing DoorDash too just started, thanks for the video beautiful 👌
People talking about the gas she used...you realize she gets to deduct her gas off her taxes?! Can you do that as an employee at your job?! Nope. Move along.
Preach 😂👏
You actually can...
My job does. I just don’t ask for it since I make good money.
Lil Ging what's your job ?
if you start a business that loses money, you get tons of tax deductions! But you still lost money...
Tip CASH directly to the driver if you tip on the app they won't receive the tip....it's kept by the company
RECHEETO S i always do that omg!!! I never use the tip option on the app
It depends on the company. I worked at Pizza Hut & if you tip on the app we get it directly no matter what at the end of our shift. I could of had way more tips working there but people would think the tips wouldn’t go to me & it’d go to the company so they wouldn’t tip😓
Reguardless it it ALWAYS better to tip cash directly to the driver.
Lol they don't steal ur tips. That is illegal and they wouldnt be around as a business if they did.
Yep Actually THEY DO steal your tips, lets say you are guaranteed $8.00 for a delivery beforehand if a customer tips $3.00 then the company only puts in $5.00 and the tip of $3.00 is used to pay you the guaranteed 8 so instead of getting 11 you still only get the 8.
I'm about to start Doordashing as a side hustle. This video gives great tips. It looks like a fun job.
I just started door dash on Sunday made 100 in a day. Then made another 250 between Monday and Tuesday. This is going to be my new side hustle lol
How many hours are you dashing a day?
@@GoodEntertainmentTv1 i usually dash in the evening for 4 or 5 hours. You make the most money when its peak time. In my area during peak time I can get 5.00 extra per order and that's not including tips
And miles?
I’m not even remotely interested in doing this, but I watched your video to the end. You’re very entertaining and this video provided a lot of information for potential Door Dashers. I might start using Door Dash 😜 that’s just what you did to me 😘
Haha thank you!!!
U definitely lesbian

this shit is pathetic..$700 a week? Thats what I make in an hour!... I have too much education and honestly too much ego to do it but yes she is very engaging..she should really look into into doing more profitable work.

If you live in NYC don't even bother. Trust me I know from experience.
I used to do postmates in NYC with a bicycle and my experience with post mates was terrible. First off, the postmates company has a rule where they tell their couriers that they must order and deliver the food to customers in less than 1 hour, which is almost impossible here in NYC and here's why. 1) NYC is a densely populated city with over 8 million people living here in NYC which means that the streets is very crowded with people. 2) the traffic here in NYC is extremely congested with lots of taxi cabs, regular non commercial cars, bicycles, motorcycles, fire trucks, delivery trucks, Ambulance, police cars and city buses which makes it very difficult and very time consuming to get from point A to point B by the time you get from your current location to your customer designated restaurant roughly 20 minutes would have already lapsed. 3) when you get to your customer's designated restaurant, you'll have to wait a super long line until it's your turn to order the food on behalf of the customer by the time it's your turn to order, 15 minutes had already lapsed. (And yes postmates courier has to order the food for the customer and then pay with postmates debit card). THIS IS STUPID BECAUSE NOW I HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER 10 or 15 MINUTES FOR THE RESTAURANT TO FINISH COOKING MY CUSTOMER'S FOOD. 4) After I pick up the customer's order, I'll have to transit from the restaurant location to my customer's address on a super heavy congested Manhattan street and by the time I get to my customer's address at least I would have killed 1 hour and 40 minutes. 5) when the ungrateful customer's sees that they got their delivery "so called" late, the ungrateful customer rates me a 1 star. THIS HAPPENS WITH ALMOST EVERY POSTMATES COURIER WORKING IN NYC. No one last last long working with postmates in NYC.
Lovely Genise Good job

Great video. Super clear and easy to understand. Thank you 😊👍
Your video was super helpful and encouraged me to go through with door dashing! I was a little unsure about it at first but after I watched your video I took my first door dash order the next day. I’ve been doing it for almost two weeks now on my free time and absolutely LOVE IT! It’s something that’s so easy to do for some extra spending cash!
BeautyAndaVegan So glad to hear it!!!! thank you!! 💜
I just recently signed up for door dash, my orientation is next week. This video was very helpful thankx! Can’t wait to get started 😎
this was one of the videos i watched that got me started. now, im at almost 18,000 deliveries . thanks miss indya.
So glad to hear!!
Good video? Best one I’ve seen. You’re a hard worker.
One tip you left out that i would highly recommend is for the drivers to ALWAYS bring your bag into the store. At the restaraunt I work at we cannot give the food to the dasher if they do not have their bag. We've gotten too many complaints about cold food in the past before we made the dashers have their bags in the store. Otherwise we have to turn them away and it ends up wasting their time, and ours because now we have to call DD support and get a new driver to pick up the food. It also doesnt help that most of the dashers in my area are HORRIBLE. Having a driver like you in our area is very rare so its nice to see that some DD drivers give a damn.
What if they have their bag in the car, which is the bulk of the delivery time. I just feel like a douchebag carrying insulated bags inside, i just want to pick up the order and not draw much attention to myself, just look like a customer picking up their order basically. Then once in my car i can transfer into the bags.
Door dash doesn’t even give you the bag until after you’ve already started dashing
I second this! It helps draw attention to yourself, which is helpful if you're going to a bunch of new or busy places. Often times an employee will spot you as DD and ask what order you need, or direct you to the proper pickup area.
Plus, you're kind of passively advertising for DD (and thus yourself) just standing there. I've had many people comment "Oh, I can get this restaurant's food delivered? I'll have to do that next time." Plenty of people who could be using DD simply don't know it exists. ;)
@@walterbabst2218 I feel bad _not_ taking the DD bag in. It saves me weird/angry looks from other customers when I cut straight to the end of the line or start grabbing napkins/utensils before even getting my food. ;)
@@roamtheglobe I got my bag and they haven't even started in my area yet
This was so informative. My lil sis is off for months at a time working for the refinery here in HOUSTON TX. This will help her in between layoffs!👍💯❤
Honestly don’t give like to videos but this video shows exactly what I was looking for thank you sm !!!! God bless you
My average total in my area is $6-$7. But I’ve definitely had those good orders where I received $30+
