Tuomas cried during the last performance of this song with Tarja...I think the reason why I prefer tarja is because it was written FOR her. Whether want to believe tuomas had feelings for tarja is one thing, but he definitely thought she was the muse of the band and to have his “inspiration” essentially leave would be devastating.

My first time hearing this song, just decided to let the playlist go on. This song felt amazing. That moment where you stop what you're doing and sit there getting those chills. Man, this song is awesome! The vocals are incredible and everything is well timed and wow. I'm amazed.

I think Toumas is able to create beauty and lovely songs, poems and music, but it´s probably that in relationships he isn´t greatness as in their lyrics. In my opinion that why Tarja prefer another person rather than Toumas. Insteads of that this songs always make me chill out.
@Red Rose There are dozens songs that he wrote about her. In one interview Tuomas said there are different types of love. Maybe he wasnt in love in Tarja as person, rather he was in love in singing goddess she is. I think many hints in different lyrics imply that. Also in much recent interview when asked about what songs from Nightwish she picks for gigs, Tarja said, she doesnt pick songs about her.
I don´t understand how any person could dislike this song. it´s so dramatic and felt, Everytime that I heard this song I just want to back time to see her in stage perfomed this song. Floor has been doing a nice work with old nightwish songs I´m very gracefull with her work, but the sensitive of this song (and many others) had lost after tarja departure. (is just my opinion)
It s depending on what songs we speak about. In Love ghost score Floor is very good but in Nemo and Ever dream i prefer clearly Tarja. These two songs have some notes o r tones difficult to catch for Floor, not necessarily the hightest, and she forces too much her voice. In my feeling. By and large i like Floor a lot, she is versatile, smart, powerful, and she brings interesting innovations like, for example, perhaps, influences of germain expressonism. She copes very well with the old songs and for me she does not lack of emotion.
this really makes me think of one of my friends whom i am also in love with. unfortunately she has a boyfriend already. she has a really hard time and i am the only one caring about her. this song is really just the correct collection of words that describes all the feelings i have for her and for this reason has become my favorite Nightwish song.

This song resonates so deep in me it makes me punch the air every time it finishes. That ending gets faster and faster that I keep crying and moshing. So epic it deserves the best AMV it can get.

Michael Stark thanks man....but there’s more to it....I made a few bad decisions as well.... we’re still in high school.....and we talked for almost a good year but I never asked out on a date....we did try to get together but it never worked out....but we have gotten to know and I’ve given her rides home from school.....not to mention she helped my through a very dark time in my life....but maybe I asked her to the dance like 2 weeks ago (winter ball is what we call it) but she made plans with to go with her friends months in advance....and I did kinda blame myself even though she said it wasn’t....but I made the worst decision I made with her and asked her what she was doing for senior prom....which isn’t until the spring....and she said she’s thinking of going with other lad.....and I got heartbroken and tried to ask her to that....but in reality I was acting like a fool and tried to convince her to go with me....we haven’t talked in almost a week...but I figured....it’s just time to move on....but i hope she knows i didn’t mean to do all the things I have done

I don't mind Anette, honestly, but dang, how much I miss Tarja in Nightwish. Listening to her beautiful voice that is so dynamic giving the best atmosphere you'd ever capture. What also is amazing is the powerful guitar solo by Emppu. Emppu is an amazing soloist but Tuomas doesn't give him chances to solo on the new songs which somewhat saddens me a bit. Anyway, they're still are good.

Tuomas Holopainen cried too. Watch End of an Era live version. He made this song specifically for Tarja's voice and he cried when the song started, knowing that it would be the last time ever that Tarja performed that with him, as the band decided to release Tarja after that tour ;__; This song is super beautiful, but that live version hits me in the feels every time. I almost never cry in general but it's always close when I'm watching that. I'll always love the Tarja-era Nightwish the most.
Imagine the albums they would have produced with this line-up. That new girl is kind and pretty but doesn't compare to the great Tarja. The old albums are such a treasure now. I'm so happy I noticed Nightwish before they got separated
I disagree. I actually found Tarja slightly prettier than Floor. But much prefer Floor's vocal diversity and stage presence. I think Floor is who Tuomas has been searching for all these years. Just my opinion as I have recently discovered Nightwish so I might view things from a different perspective.
Okay guys. I got into Nightwish when Anette was in during Imaginarium. Now I come back and listen to Tarja. I think both have wonderful voices and I love both equally. Floor is meh for me at the moment.
I got into Nightwish because my friend showed me Last Ride of the Day and Storytime. Anette is really good but live-- not so much. Her pronounciation is clearer and is capable of putting more emotion into the lyrics. She gives of the feeling of a woman telling tales of adventures she witnessed by a campfire. Tarja is another story. Her voice is very powerful and slower. Her accent is one of her charms to me (not many others agree with me). She gives off the feeling of a powerful mother or creature that watches the world (listen to Planet Hell). I enjoy both of these singers and the experiences they give me.. But can we agree Marco is best. :B I haven't listened to Floor much. I can't properly judge her. Nightwish is an ever evolving band. To want one singer over the other is like not wanting them to progress. We've received The Poet and The Pendulum and Song of Myself from change. I just want to see where Nightwish will go, even if I am a bit skeptical.

I think it's because they're not native english speakers and as they write their lyrics on their own (or Tuomas himself), they just misinterpreted it. Still it's my favourite song, no matter it does not make much sense :)

Whenever someone says something "sucks", it shouldn't matter because it's their opinion and not yours. It's not going to kill anyone to think differently, we're all different.

@Red Rose There are dozens songs that he wrote about her. In one interview Tuomas said there are different types of love. Maybe he wasnt in love in Tarja as person, rather he was in love in singing goddess she is. I think many hints in different lyrics imply that. Also in much recent interview when asked about what songs from Nightwish she picks for gigs, Tarja said, she doesnt pick songs about her.

I don´t understand how any person could dislike this song. it´s so dramatic and felt, Everytime that I heard this song I just want to back time to see her in stage perfomed this song. Floor has been doing a nice work with old nightwish songs I´m very gracefull with her work, but the sensitive of this song (and many others) had lost after tarja departure. (is just my opinion)
It s depending on what songs we speak about. In Love ghost score Floor is very good but in Nemo and Ever dream i prefer clearly Tarja. These two songs have some notes o
r tones difficult to catch for Floor, not necessarily the hightest, and she forces too much her voice.

By and large i like Floor a lot, she is versatile, smart, powerful, and she brings interesting innovations like, for example, perhaps, influences of germain expressonism.
She copes very well with the old songs and for me she does not lack of emotion.

Michael Stark thanks man....but there’s more to it....I made a few bad decisions as well.... we’re still in high school.....and we talked for almost a good year but I never asked out on a date....we did try to get together but it never worked out....but we have gotten to know and I’ve given her rides home from school.....not to mention she helped my through a very dark time in my life....but maybe I asked her to the dance like 2 weeks ago (winter ball is what we call it) but she made plans with to go with her friends months in advance....and I did kinda blame myself even though she said it wasn’t....but I made the worst decision I made with her and asked her what she was doing for senior prom....which isn’t until the spring....and she said she’s thinking of going with other lad.....and I got heartbroken and tried to ask her to that....but in reality I was acting like a fool and tried to convince her to go with me....we haven’t talked in almost a week...but I figured....it’s just time to move on....but i hope she knows i didn’t mean to do all the things I have done

Listening to her beautiful voice that is so dynamic giving the best atmosphere you'd ever capture. What also is amazing is the powerful guitar solo by Emppu.
Emppu is an amazing soloist but Tuomas doesn't give him chances to solo on the new songs which somewhat saddens me a bit.

I disagree. I actually found Tarja slightly prettier than Floor. But much prefer Floor's vocal diversity and stage presence. I think Floor is who Tuomas has been searching for all these years. Just my opinion as I have recently discovered Nightwish so I might view things from a different perspective.

Okay guys. I got into Nightwish when Anette was in during Imaginarium.
Now I come back and listen to Tarja. I think both have wonderful voices and I love both equally. Floor is meh for me at the moment.
I got into Nightwish because my friend showed me Last Ride of the Day and Storytime. Anette is really good but live-- not so much. Her pronounciation is clearer and is capable of putting more emotion into the lyrics. She gives of the feeling of a woman telling tales of adventures she witnessed by a campfire. Tarja is another story. Her voice is very powerful and slower. Her accent is one of her charms to me (not many others agree with me). She gives off the feeling of a powerful mother or creature that watches the world (listen to Planet Hell). I enjoy both of these singers and the experiences they give me.. But can we agree Marco is best. :B
I haven't listened to Floor much. I can't properly judge her. Nightwish is an ever evolving band. To want one singer over the other is like not wanting them to progress. We've received The Poet and The Pendulum and Song of Myself from change. I just want to see where Nightwish will go, even if I am a bit skeptical.
I've listen to more Floor. She did work for Ayreon and Star One and she's got a decent voice. Anette is my favourite in Nightwish though
