Can you imagine what it takes to write and perform an epic this long so that it all sounds unified and flows together? It's a 10 minute fantasy novel basically.
Tuomas is good at that. Look at 'Ghost Love Score'. Or 'Song of Myself'. Not to mention 'Greatest Show on Earth' (which I am seriously considering to be his magnum opus at this point...) Even his shorter songs have that sort of feel to them. The man's a freaking genius.
I know! I am in awe of how many amazing pieces Tuomas can create, it took me ages just to write a 3 minute orchestral composition this week, and I feel drained at the end of it, like the act of putting out my music on paper, steals a piece of my soul. 💚

you think this is long, look at songs like "the Greatest Show on Earth" (also by Nightwish) at 25 minuets, or basically anything by Symphony X
