Again, gorgeous car control presented by Colin here. And it's all too easy to forget what a superb event the Argentina is, and that it doubtlessly deserves to be called a classic. The stages have absolutely everything to test the driver. I was struck by the low traction of that seemingly hard-packed surface.

The murram road is smooth, level as tarmac road facilitating sprint race. In Kenya rally, it's an adventure, and it's unpredictable weather adds the spoils. Memories of unexpected terrains after a recce is the hurdle facing competitors.
The wipers are activated by the co-driver as he knows when the water is coming via the notes. The foot rest in the cockpit has a button he activates with his foot to turn the wipers on and off. Therefore the driver can concentrate on the driving of the car. Our WRC cars are pretty high tech eh!
Funny how nobody didn't ask Colin to have a go on a Touring Car let alone a single seater...Clear that he was born to drive sideways in the mud and that there was no other category that fits his particular talent :)

Rally GB in the original Colin McRae Rally for the PS1 was a level I could never figure out. actually you can see that stick goes right to the column so he uses that instead of the paddle but it works the same, maybe he likes the feel of the lever but its the same. Some had a big ring around the back of the steering wheel to grab instead of paddles too
The wipers while steering would be quite the challenge, not to mention everything else he was capable of doing.. that just sort of struck me as something that'd be an unnatural feeling...
if I wanted to become a rally driver in the wrc or otherwise, as the rally of Brazil, how does it make? what it takes? I need a car or the car is the team ... ? thanks.
It shows how much skill you need as a rally driver. I mean the course is hard enough as it is and ther are even harder ones out there. But look at how much Colin has to do, he has to do every turn perfectly while fighting oversteer and understeer and because rally cars didnt have flappy paddle gearboxes then it was even harder (as he had only one hand to control the car alot of the time), as well as flick and push switches and buttons while going along for the windscreen wipers etc.
