The WRC is the FIA World Rally Championship, a tough motorsport using rally cars on real roads around the world. Watch the best rally drivers battle on gravel and asphalt roads with mud, rain, dust, ice and heat! Watch high speed action as the rally drivers power slide and drift round narrow corners, go flat out over a big jump or through a watersplash, handbrake turn round a hairpin, survive a big moment, or have a massive crash! Rally requires maximum attack and careful tactics to become world rally champion.
Each rally has timed sections called special stages, on closed roads. Drivers complete these stages as quickly as possible. A co-driver reads pace notes that explain the hazards ahead. Rally drivers use the same rally car to travel to each stage on public roads, following normal traffic regulations. The crew which completes all the stages in the shortest time is the rally winner. Championship points are won using the same scoring system as Formula 1. The championship is administered by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), motorsport's world governing body.
Over 30 countries have hosted WRC rallies. Rally Monte Carlo, Rally Argentina, Rally Finland, Rally Portugal, Tour de Corse on Corsica, France, Rally Sardegna on Sardinia, Italy, Safari Rally in Kenya, Acropolis Rally in Greece, Rally New Zealand, Rally Australia, Rally Japan, Rally GB, Rally Catalunya, Rallye Deutschland, Rally Mexico and many more.
Some of the world's greatest drivers have won the FIA World Rally Championship for Drivers, like Colin McRae, Carlos Sainz, Walter Röhrl, Stig Blomqvist, Petter Solberg, Ott Tänak. The list of world rally champions includes many Finnish rally drivers like Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Mäkinen, Ari Vatanen, Marcus Grönholm, Hannu Mikkola. French drivers have had success with Sébastien Ogier, and 9 times world champion Sébastien Loeb. Famous drivers from other motorsports have come to try rally driving like Ken Block from Rallycross, and Robert Kubica and Kimi Räikkönen from F1.
Car companies compete for the prestigious FIA World Rally Championship for Manufacturers awarded to the most successful WRC constructor. Winners include Citroen, Hyundai, Volkswagen and Peugeot. Ford have had success with the Ford Escort, Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta when the M-Sport team won in 2017.
The 1980's featured the iconic Group B rally cars like the Lancia 037 and Delta S4, Peugeot 205 T16, MG Metro 6R4, Ford RS200 and Audi Quattro.
Japan dominated the 1990s with the Mitsubishi Lancer, Subaru Impreza, and Toyota Celica and Toyota Corolla. Toyota returned to the WRC in 2017 with the Toyota Yaris WRC, winning in 2018. I came from DiRT 2.0 to see how people actually do these stages as apposed to just bounching between rocks all the way, and now I'm speechless...
Pay attention to the pacenotes and keep your left foot over the brake and you’re golden
The E brake and blipping throttle on Hairpins is essential, This is more of a drift style stage, more swing better and faster turn ins
Sometimes I have the impression that Rally drivers in real life drive crazier than people in rally videogames.

@@athrite2118 Stage design is way better, the artistic direction on the Dirt games however captures the location a lot better. It's a shame the flubbed the delivery so much with the codemasters wrc game, we could've had the best of both worlds.

People who argue rally drivers aren't some of the best drivers in the world need to see things like this..
+NoDoubtFlatOut yep, in these they do practice some of the stages a bit, but usually they just get one shot at getting it right and it is always changing on these gravel roads where random rocks and stuff can really mess with your grip, you don't get 20 laps of the same thing to improve your lines etc.
+chadwickistaken That's actually what makes rally drivers so skilled. Even with a navigator -- a damn good navigator -- the road is still unpredictable, and no two right-3 or left 4 opens corner are the same, so you don't take each successive corner the same as the last.

Rallying is one of the most impressive feats of humanity. Insane stuff.
CONDOR - COPINA (CORDOBA PROVINCE, ARGENTINA) is one of the most crowded stages worldwide with attendants from, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia, Perú, etc It´s just a jaw droping show to watch the best of the best driving there. The road is surrounded with stone and mountain, so it´s like there are natural stands all over the place. Argentinian fans are just crazy people about rally. They go there maybe 2 days earlier. They eat asado, drink wine or "fernet" with coke and they scream like crazy. Temperatures are freezing cold, but people don't´care about that, they are leaving the place after the race, and they are already thinking about next year trip to watch one of the best show motorsports has to offer. it´s out of this world.

Watched this on the livestream.. Honestly I haven't seen anyone drive like that since Colin McRae. One of THE best drives I've ever seen in the WRC. Truly sensational!

I love this track, for some reason I do best on this track compared to the rest. I think it was Poland I always crash hard on flying around. Playing on hard I always get first in Argentina playing with a controller. Just remembered Australia, I've crashed pretty hard on that course also 😆

I actually wasnt bad at this stage on dirt rally 2.0 but I sold myy dirt rally 2.0 game for something else. Although this stage is on the modern wrc games.

Es verdad, el publico argentino es inigualable. Pero tambien es idiota, o tal vez la seguridad sea idiota, y lo digo como argentino que soy. Si miras con mucha atencion, hay un monton de gente mal ubicada, carpas, autos y demas detras de las cintas roja. La FIA le pego un tiron de orejas a la comision organizadora, y tal vez la gente no lo sabia, pero ubicandose asi, no solo ponen en riesgo su integridad y en menor medida la de los pilotos, si no que tambien pusieron en riesgo la visita del WRC en Argentina en los proximos años. Pero bueno, asi somos los argentinos, y asi nos gusta. Realmente el Rally de Argentina da impresion de ser uno de los mas duros y exigentes. Buena vida! :)

There are very few people in this world who have the fitness, stamina and SKILL to pilot one of these rally cars to its maximum. What we see here and in other wrc videos is the skill of these few top line drivers. I read some comments about Kubica etc who have tried top line rallying and I am afraid they were 2nd tier only - not in the same league as the current top line drivers both now and in the past. The road that Hayden just drove over cannot be replicated into a video game. Sure, the road looks the same - corners etc, but how can you replicate the sheer roughness and physical stamina needed. You would have to have some very expensive equipment to even start with - hydraulics, heat etc These top drivers are certainly the very best drivers in the world.

El Condor: one of the best Stage in the world, alongside with Col de Turini (MON), Fafe (POR), and Ouninpohja (FIN).
I think Whaanga Coast (NZ) is up there as well, but I'm biased since I live about 30 minutes drive away.

I wish the camera on the front road view was more realistic. There were a few corners where you're literally in the wall of dirt.
The best thing abot WRC is that you get to see the best drivers in the world (fact), in the most beautiful locations and tracks, without even paying ticket.
If a Nurburgring F-one race were a rally, the rocky hell argentina are the one most resemble to it. Whether Real life and WRC 7 game both are insane.
Playing this course on rally 2.0 is my favourite.
