Yes, but you are supposed to have more Shrivamsha than your opponent has Mamelukes. So the Mameluke player is dead here anyway. I play Gurjara frequently, and Shrivamsa is OP against any ranged units. Especially if their attack rate is slow, like Mameluke, HC, Gbeto.
