According to @TPMvids, Disney's first choice for the rock band was The Rolling Stones but they were too expensive to license. Also according to that channel, Steve Tyler of Aerosmith is a big Disney fan and visited Walt Disney World for his 64th birthday on March 2016. He also loved Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, claiming that it was "The Best Ride in the Place". However, things changed on August 2016 when he expressed his disappointment publicly on Twitter, rumors speculated that he was upset because a crude hand gesture he made in the preshow (you can see it in this video) was digitally altered to an open palm after being part of the ride for 17 years and social media was possibly to blame as that gave it more attention. Steve Tyler hasn't been to Walt Disney World since then, he still sometimes goes to other Disney parks. Special thanks to @TPMvids for documenting this in one of his videos as Wikipedia doesn't state this.
After winding through a shaded outdoor queue, guests enter the offices and recording studios of record label G-Force Records, whose lobby is decorated with posters of real acts signed to labels owned by The Walt Disney Company.
Next, guests are led into a room looking into the recording studio, where the five members of Aerosmith are shown finishing a recording session. The group's manager, portrayed by Illeana Douglas, enters and informs them that they're late for a concert. Lead singer Steven Tyler expresses regret at being forced to leave the band's fans and requests backstage passes for the entire group. The band then departs by limousine to "the Forum" (a reference to a famous Los Angeles concert venue). The harried manager summons a "super stretch" limo, to carry guests to the concert and directs them outside.
The pacing of the film is such that there is brief pause between the time that the band mentions to their manager that they should do something for their fans and Steven Tyler agreeing. The interval of time is just long enough that the line "How about some backstage passes" can be shouted from the audience (often by the cast member who is acting as the tour's "host"), making it appear that the band takes the suggestion, which is also echoed by a band mate. Steven Tyler's next line is "Wait a minute, I love that idea. How about some backstage passes?"
Guests exit the recording studio and pass through an alley into a parking garage, owned by "Lock 'n' Roll Parking Systems". In here, guests waiting in line can see the ride's launch and sharp-eyed guests can spot the curtains in above 'apartment windows', sway from the 'force', caused by the launch. Guests then board a waiting 24 seat stretch limo for the trip across town to the concert.
After loading passengers, the "limo" stops at the entrance to a tunnel. Music is playing and an overhead variable message sign displays a series of several different messages until a countdown. After the countdown, the car is then shot into the tunnel at 57 miles per hour (92 km/h) and the souvenir photo is taken. The roller coaster goes through three inversions, two of which is a sea serpent element and one of which is a corkscrew on a winding track, intended to represent various Los Angeles Area Freeways, including Interstate 5, Interstate 10 and U.S. Route 101, as evident by the street signs that periodically appear on the side of the coaster. The attraction ends when the limo arrives at Aerosmith's concert backstage, letting guests off onto a red carpet.
While considered "extreme", Rock 'n' Roller Coaster has been described by roller coaster enthusiasts as being smoother, less jerky and less uncomfortable than some similar extreme roller coasters.
The scariest part is just waiting to take off. Felt like 100 years.
It's also the best part. Just that build-up of adrenaline as you prepare to peel out makes this the best roller coaster in Disney World.
omg i love that part its the thrill you get its unreal !!!!!
Abbi Martin lol so much you're funny
Abbi Martin king da ka at six flags the moment before you take off it’s the scariest part. Especially bc that one zips from 0-128mph in like 3 seconds
Yeah XD
In my opinion, the scariest part is waiting in line and watching the people go on the ride. It's makes your blood pressure go crazier and crazier cx
This was my third ever rollercoaster in my life at Disney. And I hated extreme speeds or drops as I sound like im having a hernia XD I was scared shitless.
On this ride, if you don't want to have that weird tingly feeling in your stomach, sit in the front. But IF YOU REALLY DO sit all the way in the back seat.
Yeah I got near the back seat and it was AWESOME!
Your right cuz Saturday I went there and I was seated next to the back, so this weird feeling was in my stomach but it was an epic ride
Ikr every time I go on they tell me to go in the front or the back but mostly the front
The scariest part is just watching people launch, knowing your next
This was my 2nd coaster ever (my first being slinky dog dash like 20 minutes before) and I'm a very anxious person, so my friend turns to me and goes "don't look," but was too late so I saw the ride take off and immediately just went GASP and started freaking out. I ended up loving it though lol.
Molly was my first ever and I was next in line with my family thinking shit fuck this but I had to couldn't pussy out after waiting an hour and half ended up loving it and going on the hulk etc was brilliant missing Florida like crazy especially since I'm from the uk
Oof so true
I’ve gone there and it’s so scary and fast
IKR!

He kind of sounds like napoleon dynamite

I freaked out on the launch but the music after made me just dance in my seat soooooooooioo fun

Why would you not ride this in disney..
OMG IT WAS MY FIRST TOO!!!!
Where else would you ride it?

what I keep seeing from this Disney land video's is something that allot of other parks don't understand.
You spend ALLOT of time queuing, most of your time at a park is spent queuing and most parks just make them into this boring waits, allot like waiting at a bus stop. But what Disney do is they actually make the que part of the experience, to help build up the excitement and give backstory and context to allot of the rides. Really wish more parks would embrace this idea.
+Xados - Yeah I think the only other rides that help remove boredom from the wait (and these are only the rides I've been on) are the Harry Potter rides at Universal
+Mardigrasqueen13 Harry Potter waits at Universal are awesome!!!
+Mardigrasqueen13 I went to universal studios years ago so I barely have any memories of it. But I do remember the wait for the Hairy Potter ride and how cool I thought it was.
+AlissaStylinson Pretty much the only ride I'd ever say that the wait is just as great as the actual ride :)
yah
This was my first loop of my life. who else´s was?
Federico Voltes yeah my first loop, I was only nine at the time, went on it twice today in Florida- got front row seats as well love it!!!!
Alex Harper I was 6 I think...
OMG it was my first loop too! I rode it just a few weeks ago when I was at Disney.
Federico Voltes omg same shits dope

Nothing is more anxiety inducing than seeing the car take off a bunch of times while waiting in line
Face forward... Keep your head back... And put the petal to the METAL!
One of my favorite roller coasters! I love how each Disney ride is more than just a ride, it's an experience from the waiting line to the gift shop afterwards!
Yes that is why disney world is so unique!
Universal also does that xD
Danny Erickson no need to cuss, he was just saying universal does that too.
mikayla owens thanks
Abelhawk I completely agree!
Did anyone else hear the guy singing "All By Myself" at about 6:05
YES HAHA
yes is true
Omg yes
yep xD
Lol at first I thought you meant he was singing "all by myself" by green day
I'm a huge fan of Rock 'N' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith. Because of this, it is going to be my most favorite roller coasters ever in Walt Disney World Resort.
Rode it for the first time yesterday! Man this was such a thrill! The Disney parks weren't busy, so this ride was a 15 minute wait and we rode it 5 times in a row!
Ride starts at 6:12
You're welcome 😊
Thanks

I like the bit with Aerosmith and the recording room
You da real MVP for that !!
Shannen McGuire and the other
This was my first big thrill coaster and I was terrified at first on the launch but I absolutely LOVED the ride. I ended up dragging my family on it three more times. Watching the launch used to be so scary but now it makes me want to be back there right now. Trust me, if you're considering riding this, DO IT.
Definitely go on it if you have the chance!*****
+Pit's Channel Awesome! Did you enjoy it?
+megthewanted123 This was my first thrill coaster too and i'm so happy it was, as i am also i big fan of Areosmith
This is my crush's favorite ride. She's surprisingly crazy sometimes though. Her idea of a having perfect time is skydiving into a forest with wolves that have had their bodies combined with jetpacks. Then she would become a wolf lady. So, I'm not quite convinced I want to ride this yet.
I been on the ride it was so fast when it launched
The ride was originally for The Rolling Stones, imagine if that happened.
you would know your fate.
I like it for Aerosmith
@@beverlythebird5040 Same, it wouldnt be as good for the stones and plus aerosmith had released their hit "Dont Wanna Miss A Thing" a year before this was made

Me neither but I went to Disney world yesterday and I started cry before the ride and my sister made me go on but I thanked her because IT was AMAZING
+〰potato 〰 same thing happened to me. I was so scared but it wasn't actually that bad, it was so fun 💕💕

Nah, the only thing with anything to do with Aerosmith that scared me was Armageddon. Sure, they saved the Earth from a terrible fate, albeit losing many lives in the process, but, in reality, NASA don't have the budget to do that, meaning that if an asteroid were about to hit the Earth, it would.
Noel Adams I thought it was going to be scary and I was nervous at first, but it actually wasn't bad at all I enjoyed it.
I've been on this ride on two separate occasions, and let me tell you: This joker goes from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds. Not to mention with two loops and one inversion (which I didn't know it had at the time).
Which makes this my first loop and inverted coaster! :D
what's an inversion?
Ride flips upside down rather than loop, then back upside.
thank you!
+ChaosAngelMoon
Actually it has 3 inversions; a rollover/sea serpent roll (which has two inversions) and a corkscrew.
And this isn't an inverted coaster; it's a corkscrew coaster. Inverted coasters hang below the track (eg. Nemesis at Alton Towers, InFusion at Blackpool).
Yeah this isn't an inverted coaster. Inverted coasted let your legs dangle and you're underneath the track.
Best ride in Hollywood Studios so far. We bought fastpass for it once and then proceeded to wait in line two more times for the rush again. The scariest part is when the mic screams at you in the beginning “FIVE FOUR THREE TWO ONEEEEEE”
Oh i remember being in the queue, I was hyped until there was an "upside down motion" warning. 😂
this still gives me chills, when i was on it my friend screamed so loud that she lost her voice and i spent the entire time trying to calm my panic attack ;-; soooooo much fuuuuuuun
omg when i watched it i was shaking so bad :( ppl probably think that im crazy
Does it have alot of drops and loops?
+Brandon Aguilar no drops but foes upside down 3 times
*goes
Olivia Offord okay thanks sounds fun then I just can't deal with drops in the dark like that haha
oh gawd, Queen surrounded by early 2010's Disney´s artists in the queue line.
+beanerama9 ikr, such blasphemy.
Ew the Jonas brothers why are they there
What about The Who?!?! Was I the only one that noticed?
beanerama9 That's the scariest part of the ride, even scarier than the launch at the beginning of the ride.
I closed my eyes the whole time
I was scared to death but it was fun

I’ve been told when entering the limo the ground staff are heard saying “walk this way”
When I first when on the ride I wasn't paying attention to what the ride was like on the speakers. I just thought it was an average ride like all the other kinda coasters like at magic kingdom. BUT NOOOO. ITS SO FAST I HAVE NI WORDS TO EXPLAIN
Watching this brings back the major anxiety I had before we got on, absolutely LOVED this ride though, soon as it finished I wanted to go again
Leah May so it’s not just me....THANK GOD! I literally got that same gut feeling just watching the anticipation in the video. Like this ride low key traumatized me just from the take off.
"My god his lips are huge" 😂😂
😂😂
I love this ride! may not be the largest roller coaster ever, but but it' really cool and fast especially since its indoors. This is the only roller coaster i know of that has music as its theme which is cool in itself! My favorite ride at DHS!
Rip Ride Rockit' in Universal Studios Orlando is based off of music.
DanceObsessed101 Yeah, I was gonna mention that. I swear I almost fell out of it and that was pretty terrifying, haha
Greatest coaster at Disney World featuring the greatest rock band in history
Nothing’s better then listening to the music as you ride it. The first time I ever went on it, the music is what calmed me down and now it’s my favorite ride at WDW
Starts at 6:21 for everyone who doesn't want to wait in line
Lol
Haha
Lmao
I hate when pov's use nightvision....this actually is a pretty colorful ride inside wtf
+Frozen CheezWiz the camera cant pick up the lights too well if he wasnt using nightvision
John Elerr What about just a lowlight camera? It would still be a dark ride but you would see the lights better
I agree, this ride is a very vibrant and colorful ride with all colors of the neon spectrum, and the night vision honestly ruined the experience. it was all dark and I can't see anything. would have been better with a low-light setting, as stated. I've been on this ride before, and its in my top 5 favorite roller coasters of all the ones I've experienced.
Same. Night vision makes everything weird and green. It is only useful when you are in a dark place not on a Disney roller coaster.

This ride is literally amazing..there is no stomach feeling for going upside down on here and no stomach flutter feeling it’s just the time of your life really..only thing is the countdown that builds your anxiety.my first time I was okay until we waited for the countdown and that’s when I regretted everything and that will always kind of be a trigger but past that point it’s nothing but fun
This is my favorite ride of all time ever since I was little, so much fun and nothing better than having Aerosmith blasting in your ear as you ride
Smoothest Disney coaster I've ever been on. Never got sick to my stomach once.
Same. This was the first actual roller coaster I've ever been on, and I had a blast. Didn't even really notice there were loops until my dad told me
This was my first big thrill coaster, and I was freaking out waiting for the countdown. When the countdown finally did happen, we didn't move, which didn't help my nervousness. They replayed the countdown and (thankfully) we took off.
This was my first Rollercoaster! I will never forget it! It was amazing and I❤️ Aerosmith!
Omg I got on. This. Ride. Back in 2017. I. LOV IT. SO MUCH. STEVE TYLER YOU'RE THE BEST
I hope that Disney never gets rid of this attraction anytime soon. I absolutely love as to how much it /hauls butt/ at the beginning, and how it plays one of the songs in Aero's repertoire (especially when "Back in the Saddle" is blaring in the speakers) giving you that awesome feeling of exhilaration.
4:17 That kid's rocking out 😂
I heard that and I was like 😂😂💀💀💀
This was my first upside down roller coaster. It holds a deep place in my heart. I was deathly afraid of rollercoasters before this, but now I’m constantly searching for the next best thing in rollercoasters lol
It looks so real it feels like you are riding the ride! That's why I have been binge watching these vids for the past few days.
I remember when I first rode this as a 14 year old. At the time the most intense roller coaster I had ridden was the good, but much tamer, Big Thunder Mountain. I was honestly scared to death but Dad bribed me with 10 bucks to try it (a fortune for me back then).
It blew my fucking balls off, and needless to say, Dad didn't need to bribe me to try the rollercoasters at Universal afterwards.
Luke Piper I went on big thunder mountain today! It's amazing
“It blew my fucking balls off” 😂😂
other than Aerosmith Screaming the countdown in your ear, this is by far the best thrill ride at Disneyworld. Tower of Terror is fun too, but you can only ride this in Hollywood Studios. The front of the coaster is THE BEST to sit in because it isn't bumpy like the back is and for some reason it makes the ride 1000x better!
I feel so bad for anybody that turned their head on this ride.
I almost always make that mistake xD
wait what does that do?

What an amazing ride this is. I grew up with my dad introducing me to a lot of great music, Aerosmith being included in that. The first time I went on this ride was with my dad. It was really fun to experience this for the first time together, both being equally excited about the music and the ride.
This was fricking AWESOME. I love Aerosmith and I love this ride!
"Look at Steven Tyler's *HAT!*"
for anyone in Disney- no matter the wait, GO ON THIS RIDE. I just went on it a couple months ago for my first time, and I regret not going on sooner. Lucky, because it was my birthday, we got a free fast pass :D but seriously, one of my favorites.
Once some fast pass guy gave me a free fast pass because I correctly answered his trivia
One of my favorite roller coasters, loved the start
This is in my top two favorite Disney world rides. The other being tower of terror. I love this ride and the feeling of blasting off!
Just wait, one day Disney will turn this into the fuckin Jonas brothers coaster or some shit.
I'm thinking more of the Terkin' roller coaster. Miley Cyrus playing in the background.
That'll be the day I consider suicide...
Sydney O'Bier Miley Cyrus went down the typical Disney diva path just like Britney Spears.
Or even worse, they'll have "Let It Go" playing in the background.
Or theyll just let the ride stay there I mean it's not like Disney is going to let go one of the greatest rides of all time to some fancy popular stuff thats in right now they're not like universal when he took down stage 28 just to make way for new Harry Potter ride or when they took down a back to the future just to make way for the Simpsons ride or when they took down Backdraft and the special-effects studio just to make way for Transformers ride even though the Transformers ride was awesome I can't see well for you
Normally I can't do big costers of any kind but I knew at Disney I have been able to do them all so I talked myself on this one. Knowing nothing about it really helped in this case. I did not know it went upside down until I was told after the ride was done. It was so dark & i closed my eyes a lot so I never knew. LOVE IT! It's now my fav ride. I still can not handle the take off start at all but it does not last that long so it's do-able. Now I leave my eyes open the whole time. If your worried try it right before leaving the park to go back to your hotel/resort. If you don't feel well at least it won't ruin your day, just sleep it off.
Crazy part about this ride. I was a crazy pop lover. But I’m in love with rock because of this ride. I listened to Aerosmith after riding this and instantly hooked onto rock. Everytime I pump some Mötley Crüe or GnR. I look back on this ride, and remember. It started it all.

dude the first (and only) time i went on this was in 2014, and i was 12. the most intense coaster i'd ever been on before this was Talon at dorney park, which i liked. unfortunately this ride wen't differently. i wasn't scared to ride it, somehow, even after seeing the launch, but i ended up unintentionally breathing out RIGHT before the launch and literally Could Not breathe in for like a solid 5 seconds, and after that i hyperventilated for the whole ride. i'm surprised i didn't pass out. the music blasting in my ears also sucked. like not the music itself, but because it was so loud. but yeah, long story short, i hate launch coasters now lmao
This is tame
