thanks for posting this video 😊 I embellished it with machine embroidery and used it to earn my Maker badge in Girl Guides.❤
The pieces you cut out would make a cute pocket on the front!
Hi Laura, just reading your new book Sew Very Easy Patternless Sewing, which arrived this morning here is South Wales UK, and love it. 😍😍 Two things immediately stand out for me; 1) how many of the patterns can be used to make other things. I.e. the sewing machine cover, with very little alteration, can be a food mixer cover. Or made smaller it becomes a toaster cover. It is always a big plus in my book when one pattern can be used in many different ways. 2) It is an ideal book for teaching youngsters about sewing and quilting. Many of the patterns can be made up quickly so a child has the satisfaction, and joy, of making something and seeing the results in a short space of time. 😊😊😊😊
Noswaith dda! My husband is from Bridgend, his family is from Porthcawl, Swansea, and Cardiff 😊
@@RebelAlliance42 I live just 10 miles from Bridgend and Porthcawl is just a few miles further on. I was born in the Rhondda brought up in Cardiff now live near Pontypridd, after a number of years living in London. Love how quilting, and especially Laura’s channel, can bring people together from many different places. 😊😊😊😊
Which one please, from Belgium. Thank you
What a great idea with using pinking shears around the curves. That’s going to be my new cutting for the curves.
I did it, it's very good, especially for small curves
Laura, your videos are always so easy and you explain things very well both verbally and demonstrated. Thank you for the brevity and editing; makes them easy to watch and to find the part of instruction I’m looking for when sewing.
The bag is adorable and would also be great to give to new moms filled with diaper changing needs. Thanks for another great tutorial!
One more idea as I thought about this basket. I put a guest basket in my guest rooms with little treats & things they may have forgotten. This will be perfect for that! Thank you!
Thank you for this beautiful and quick project. I made mine with fusible fleece to add more body. I wouldn't recommend anything heavier as turning it through the handles would be difficult. It came out perfect! Also, I stitched the handle cut-outs together - then sewed the two circles RST , turn & topstitch. Voila! made myself a small mug rug. Perfect for going to our community's coffee socials. Bonus! and no waste.
I'm thinking about how to adjust the measurements to be able to use insulated batting and use to transport baking dishes. Then the handle cut outs would be perfect pot holders.
@@randibgood The InsulBrite I have doesn't seem to be any bulkier than the fusible fleece, so I don't think that would be a problem. Just need to figure the fabric dimensions. I like your potholder idea too!
Thank you for this video. I would be careful making the handle any skinnier. Getting all the fabric with interfacing back thru the hole didn't go so well for me in fact it didn't go . Make the basket bigger not the handle smaller. ♥️ Sewing 53 years still learning!!
It looked ok before I turned it right side out but no - handle was too short and the bottom was misshapen. Oh well. It was just something to try. On to something else.
I made two of these this morning for Easter for two granddaughters ages 9 & 8 1/2. They loved them. Thank you for this simple and easy tutorial.
💝✂️ I discovered a way to sew faster and easier even as a beginner, I talk more about it in my channel, I hope it helps those who need it. 🌺😍
What a great wee bag perfect for the grandchildren’s easter hunt thank you for sharing
I absolutely love this! I sat down and made two right away! Don’t go too narrow on that handle. You have to get the body and the interfacing through there and it was thought enough with the 2” gap. I have four more fat quarters picked out! Thank you so much, Laura, for sharing this with all of us!
Yes, I used fusible fleece, just because that's what I have at home right now (I couldn't wait 😆) and it was a bit of a challenge turning it through, but not impossible, and it's a short distance, luckily, but the thinner handle could be done with very light or no interfacing, I imagine... and these quick, easy projects are my favourite 😊
I jusr found out about the handle, because I trimmed my circle on the outside so cut off my stitching. I decided to restitch it but ended up with a tiny handle. I’m starting a new one now
@@warialdasue I nearly did that today! Just stopped myself in time!!
I just love this little bag. I’m going to make one and embroider my great grandson’s name on it
Love this tutorial! Thanks! Easter baskets came to my mind as well, my 4 grandkids would love it.
Thank you Laura for this wonderful tutorial. This is perfect for me to prepare some little Easter gifts stuffed with goodies for my grandbabies 😍
Yeah! I have a bunch of fat quarters, I am going to make some for my stitching friends. Thank you Laura, inspirational as always. Looking forward to more of your wonderful tutorials.
I LOVE THIS! Great for gift bags!
I love that fabric, so cheerful.
Laura, you are an amazing teacher! I love your tutorials. Very thorough. This bag is so cute. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
So cute! Thank you, Laura.
I sewed one this morning! I made mine bigger and inserted a round bamboo handle before closing the sides and bottom. I'm now sewing a matching zippered pouch to slip inside for when I want to use it as a purse, that way I feel more secure that what I'm carrying won't spill out. Thank you!
Just too cute! I think even I can make this! Thank you!
ADORABLE!! 😍 Thank you for sharing!

This is just what I need to take my crochet/knitting along to doctor offices and other places. Thanks for a lovely idea! No more yarn in plastic shopping bags!
Great idea and great video, as usual. Funny….I happen to have that exact fat quarters! We can’t find …or use…plastic bags any more. Not allowed. I have to admit I really miss them, but never thought of using them for my yarn.
My daughter's dog comes for a day of doggie day care sometimes, if she is away for quite a few hours. This little bag would be great to keep her doggie kong, ball and treats that I have on handy for her. No more searching around for things.
Great idea Laura.
Sweet little bag/basket. Thank you for the video 😊👍💕

Super cute! I need a little basket for my new Granddaughter - this is perfect!
As soon as you showed the little bag I instantly thought of a gardening bag to hold gardening hand tools, however it would probably need to be in a fablon fabric. Love it. Thanks for sharing x
I plan on using it to store my sock knitting projects - perfect size, and I am going to make one for my sister. Thank you I love this

Thank you for this cute little bag. I enjoy your calm straight forward instructions. So easy to follow.
A very cute bag!
Hi Laura. I just made one of these little bags. It's so darn cute!! I'm going to mak a few more!! Thank you for this video. Have a great day!!
Laura, OMG you have created a monster LOL. I am making lots of these little bags and am using them as Gift Bags. I wrap the presents as normal, and then handing the present over in one of these little bags, which is a gift in itself and can be used again rather than a bag being thrown away. Being kind to the environment. Thank you for a lovely video Laura.
Lovely little bag.
I was wondering what kind of easter baskets to give my great grandchildren. Now I know! Thank you for sharing.
Laura, I am having great time making 40, yes forty little Valentine themed Fat Quarter Totes for my great grandchildren's Valentine Party's at school.
I enjoyed pulling Valentine fabrics from my stash and was amazed how many different ones! Kids are so excited to share and I'm shocked my Valentine stash is still bountiful!! Thanks for great pattern. Blessings, Dawn
