Thanks Dawg - this video was a great help for me installing an Avital 4115L remote starter on my 1999 GMC Sierra. Especially the tip on getting the tach from the gauge cluster. Nice job!
No problem. I searched for a long time of a video explaining how to do the install. All I ever found was videos of people remote starting the truck after installation. I figured I would document my installation for anyone who needed help.
I need to make a correction. At 10:55 concerning the heavy gauge relay 6-pin connector i said Pin1 and Pin3 are spliced together. Pin 1 should go to red 12v constant and Pin3 should go to the thick Red/White 12v constant. Also, at 19:26 concerning the SPDT Relay pins 86&87 are spliced together and should connect to a 30 amp in line fuse and then be connected to the thick Red/White 12v constant wire.
I have a question on the part of the video 17:00 what are you talking about the door lock harness 451 . Did you wire the 451M with the pig tail to the alarm then to BCM? Or did you wire the 451M straight to the BCM .
The pigtail plugs directly into the Avital as both the Avital and the 451m are Directed products. (Should be 3 wires. Green,Blue,Red) Then you have to wire the the Green/Black lock wire from the 451m to the light blue wire (pin A4) in the brown plug of the bcm. Then the Blue/Black unlock wire of the 451m goes to the white wire (pin A3) in the brown plug of the bcm.
Thanks for making this video! Did you have to program the unit to Tachometer or did you use the default setting of Virtual Tach? I just installed mine, when I attempt to remote start the truck, it cranks, but won't start. Im not sure what I have going on.
Mine actually started right up without programming the tach. I went back and programmed it just to be safe. The instructions say to start the vehicle with the key, then within 5 seconds press and hold the valet button. Hold it down for 3 seconds and then the tach is learned. What type of bypass module are you using. It sounds like the passlock 2 anti theft system is not letting the truck start.
Hey what’s up great video I was able to install my remote keyless entry viper 4706 but I’m having an issues with it throwing a transmission code I did as u said. I would like to now if u can help me out my remote start connector has 8 wires instead of 6 like urs not sure if my problem is there. Thanks again!!
Im looking at the wiring diagram and I see you have 2 Ignition 2 wires (Pink/White and Red/White) which one did you hook up to the white ignition #2 wire coming off the truck
It looks like the Pink/White wire on the 8-pin connector connects to the trucks White Ignition 2 wire and the Red/White wire on the 8-pin connector needs a 12V source. Y
I am sorry i still not understand so can send me a link paper how to took it up for this one?? I am deaf from ohio my suv is 1999 chevy suburban so about alarm hook up line so sorry bro i try looking a right thing as match sorry bro thank 👍
Good video, thanks for all the information. I now have the confidence to install it on my truck.

It's wired to the avital then to the bcm.

If you're getting a transmission code it most likely has something to do with the ignition 2 wire.
