    I hear Viper has some new remotes coming out real soon. Im excited to see what they are, only because im curious.
    I dont think anything can top the T12 / CMX combo in my opinion! Especially with the VAISTECH SEER that ive tied into it!

      Viper / DIrected (specifically their parent company VOXX) is planning a revamp of the entire Viper line, which I believe will be including new key fobs. No idea on time frame for this though, looks to be 4th quarter of 2024 at the earliest, and will more than likely be early 2025

    I wish Compustar have us the option to activate / deactivate certain alarm sensors from the remote or phone app.
    For instance if parking at home in the garage, you can just arm a certain sensor, butnif parking at a busy/sketchy area, be able to arm more sensors.
    That would be really cool!

      Technically, this is possible using AUX outputs, *but* you (the user) would need to know which AUX output is turning on or off which sensor. This is NOT a native feature though, where there are actual indications given as to which sensor is turned on or off, it would be a custom set up done using the Compustar AUX outputs, of which there can be up to 8 aux outs available (default system availability being Aux 1 and Aux 2)

    Hi ,
    what would you pick if you had 2024 corolla key-start gas model for remote start and mobile app.?
    1) Would you go DS4 or DC3 ?
    2) what mobile app Smart start or Mycar 2?
    My plan is lately to add two way remote in to the system but not now.
    Please reply as i like you videos but this is specific question if you could help me making a decision.
    Thanks

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  14 днів тому

      I would suggest the DC3 over the DS4. There is no plug and play harness available for either though. FYI, Fortin has the THARONE-TOY17 harness, that works with the EVO-ONE, but the EVO-ONE is not as good of an alarm, as the DC3 is.
      I would suggest MyCar2 for smartphone app control (ONLY if you live in Canada though, as it does not work in the US yet)

    Changing brands makes for disgruntled installers. Better have donuts on hand :)

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  3 місяці тому

      We agree, this can cause issues if the vendor is a single brand only vendor, this is one of the reasons we carry multiple brands, so that our installers can be familiar with as many as possible.

    Hello. Very good informative video, many thanks. I bought the CS2WQ900-AS but have not received it yet, I have Mazdaspeed 3 2007 model which used to start with a key but I converted it to a start/stop push button and I do have the kit to bypass the key immobilizer, now, do I need anything else to the CS2WQ900-AS to achieve Remote Start? And finally, what options does the CS2WQ900-AS come with in the box? Cheers

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  2 місяці тому

      If you have the immobilizer bypass then you should not need anything further, however if your Mazdaspeed is manual transmission than the CS2WQ900-AS will not work, as it is for automatic vehicles only.

    • @AhmedBahgat
      @AhmedBahgat 2 місяці тому

      @@LockdownSecurity Thanks mate for your reply, is there a way to bypass the manual check, I can get a signal if the gear stick is in neutral position then I can pass that signal to the compustar as if it is automatic, and if the car is not in neutral then the signal would be negative? Cheers

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  2 місяці тому

      @@AhmedBahgat Not safe to do it that way, if the neutral sense signal ever fails, and the car is in gear, and you remote start, see ya later car, it will drive until it hits something.
      You have to use a manual transmission compatible (safe) remote start on a manual vehicle, it's the only truly safe way of doing it. You need a Compustar CMX controller, and a Compustar FT-DASII sensor.

    • @AhmedBahgat
      @AhmedBahgat 5 днів тому

      @@LockdownSecurity Hello mate, I took your advice and designed a further safety measure in case the neutral switch fails and the car is in gear while remote starting, I designed a motion sensor using a 6 axis accelerometer MPU6050 that will only activates via the GWR Compustar wire when I remote start the car, if the car started to move while cranking, the accelerometer will activates a relay to provide power for the brake wire for 1 second, I tested it and the car only moves between 30 and 45 cm before it stops by itself. Cheers

    Would either of the Viper models be considered a passive system whereby if you turn off, exit, and lock the vehicle, it automatically becomes 'armed' ?
    Also since you explained how the Viper model tends to be more of a 'bundle,' am I correct in assuming if I want the 2-way remote I have to get the model that gets the remote start installed as well? Would one of the Viper-parent-company smartphone apps support the 3105V too and what exactly can be done through the app?

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  3 місяці тому +2

      You can configure either brand (Compustar or Viper) to passively arm, and also passively arm + lock (riskier to set as you could lock yourself out), thereby creating an auto arming setup.
      As for Viper, yes, if you buy one of the analogue systems, you must buy the version that comes with the 2-way LCD, they are not upgradeable per se (like Compustar can be). Now, for DS4 from Directed/Viper, these can be "upgraded" using a 2-way key fob kit, but the analogue systems (as I show in he video) require you to buy them equipped, with the key fob of your choice (not easily upgradeable).
      Viper 3105V is NOT compatible with SmartStart (Directed's smartphone system).

    Can you compare the proximity lock and proximity unlock between vioer and compustar ?

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  14 днів тому +1

      As far as we know, Viper is not currently offering any proximity based lock/unlock functionality, only Compustar is offering this via their T13 key fob, and their EZGOII system

      We are partial to Compustar as our preferred security brand, so, I would suggest a Compustar FT-CMX-HC, the FT-ALARMIT kit, and then pair it with the key fob kit that you prefer best. You will also need a iDatalink BLADE-AL interface.

    I've got a 1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ, only stumbled on your videos after installing my remote start, I ended up going for a Compustar CM-X with Compustar Prime R3 1 way remote, had 8 wires to connect and the old girl has remote start, ended up costing me $200! If you're wondering how hard it is to install a basic remote start on an old vehicle, it took me an hour and I wish I had done it sooner!

    Got a question . I have a 96 c1500 that I Ls swap i put a 05 Tahoe 5.3 ls and transmission into my c1500 my pcm for the 05 Tahoe engine has no security locks on it it’s all been disabled and I’m wanting to install a compustar with the t12 remote on my truck what all would I have to buy to install this myself

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  28 днів тому

      You will need the RF-2WT12-SS key fob kit, and the FT-CMX-HC, along with the FT-ALARMIT-KIT. If your PCM has all of the OEM immobilizer security turned off (passlock), then you do not need an interface module. You will need relays though, for keyless entry (door lock) connections.

      The digital tilt sensors, set themselves up to whatever angle there are at when the system arms, meaning if the vehicle is on an incline or decline when parked and armed, the sensor will detect variances (tilt change) from whatever angle they were armed at. As the other commenters mentioned, while driving the sensors will not be active.

    I see a lot of Ram trucks being stolen in canada lately. You mentioned the field disturbance sensor for convertibles. Couldnt that be setup as a warn away with like a foot or two detection range just beyond the truck doors so if someone approached to use a slim jim or check your VIN it would give the warn away chirps and if they did it again it would go into full alarm?

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  28 днів тому +3

      Yes and no, proximity sensors can be set to trigger when someone walks close the vehicle, but the problem is the steel body of the vehicle, this causes interference and interference with proximity sensors means false alarms, constantly. The other thing that is an issue with setting exterior perimeter detection, weather, specifically hot and cold temps, these also cause false alarms.
      So, this is why proximity sensors are designed for, and best used in, convertibles, to protect the interior when the top is down.
