Great tutorial... but unfortunately aAmbient Occlusion trick is not working in any version of cinema 4D with corona :(.. will you help ? of share file so i can try ?
Thanks a lot! Yeah I noticed a while back and asked the Corona Forum what the best alternative solution is... But no real luck as of yet. For the intersection you can make use of a Boole object and then apply a Luminance material to that section. However that's just faking the laser that hits the surface. For making an actual laser I haven't found a solution at the moment. Will ask around and get back to you! - Leo
@@BlauwFilms I was trying to do it with the "Render as Hair" option, but they kinda of look like just long sticks in the sky if that makes sense. Will do more research though.
I believe so. There is the Emission setting in a material and you should be able to plug an Ambient Occlusion into the Opacity tab of an Octane Material :)
Woahhh 🔥🔥🔥 its finally out.... Thank you blauw films ❤
Oh yeah! Thank you for watching!
nice!
Thank you!
muchas gracias por el tutorial , he aprendido mucho , no habia visto nunca poner un material en AO en opacity y self illumination
De nada Toni! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Leo

I gotta figure out how to do this in Octane.
Would love to hear how you achieved it! Am thinking of trying out Octane for some things as well

I did a tutorial on how to do this years ago for octane :) ua-cam.com/video/MTD4ICAUcw4/v-deo.html
by chance, do you know what nodes I would use in Arnold? thanks
I haven't used Arnold before but any AO type node would work fine. Cheers, Leo
@@BlauwFilms ok, i'll try that. thank you so much for the tip and for the tutorial.
@@artkiko4460 Absolutely! I’m glad I could help!
Would this be possible in octane aswell?

@@BlauwFilms Ty for the tip. I have the material set up but im not getting that clean line you are in corona. i.imgur.com/vtuJlU0.jpg
@@BlauwFilms Hey i ended up getting it working. What i needed to do was add a gradient with a dirt node into the opacity. i.imgur.com/r5TMmdq.png
@@SwitchMaxFX Ah that makes sense! Thanks for letting me know. Great result as well! Cheers, Leo
