Just wanted to let you know that, I, for one, appreciate that no matter the "backstory" of the victims or the job they were doing, they are always treated with respect. So many are quick to judge those women that are exotic dancers or sex workers. Thank you for being aware and kind.

The fact that the same hypocritical disdain is not held for their johns is despicable. If Johns started dying or the body of a man was identified as a John and the police don't immediately give up then why do it when a woman or women are identified as prostitutes. The failure of police departments from New Jersey to San Francisco is astounding in so many cases and in so many ways.
I am the last to advocate the "defund the police" idiotic movement, but I've long supported better policing and hiring more intelligent people from all walks of life.
Isn't it interesting that in cyber-crimes they leverage the knowledge of past criminals, why not do that in all areas of crime. I'm not saying we hire pimps, but you want to understand then stop prostitution = hire ex-prostitutes as advocates and consultants.

America was built on prostitution especially during the early 1900s. Brothels usually were major contributors to society, building schools, doctors offices, sheriffs offices. I never understood why we demonize sex workers. It’s just sad.

This is unbelievably sad. All these women suffered and dealt with their fair share of trials and tribulations. Life showed them how dark it could be at times. Wish they got to enjoy the good days but some low life post robbed them off of it. I hope their killer is found and their family and friends receive the closure that they deserve. Thank you so much for covering this case with sensitivity and respect towards the victim. It's sad really. Until about 1960 A.C. was a favorite place for honeymoons. Men went there for the burlesque theater and the A.C. race track. But families came for The Steel Pier, diving bell, diving horses and pony rides on the beach. Beloved entertainers like Frank Sinatra were once regulars. Then there was still the convention Hall, Miss America Pageants and a few upscale clubs. I remember going for dinner in an evening gown. The old hotels were luxurious. But by 1960 the town died and casinos were prescribed as the cure around 1978. I watched as sections of dilapidated neighborhoods burned (arson?) to provide space for casinos. The economy was great for awhile because A.C. had the only casinos on the east coast that I was aware of. When PA opened, then NY and DE, it all ended as quickly as it started. I don't think any of the investors expected that.

Dennis Gaskill was the east bound strangler. Just a week or so before the bodies where found he gave me a ride from Tuckerton to Seaside heights. I had been hitch hiking he asked me if I was a hooker.i told him "no just a mom who misers the bus and was trying to get home before my son got home from school"
When i got out of his truck he said "be careful you could end up barefoot face down in a ditch facing east"
He killed himself in a Texas Jail cell before he could be brought back for trial.

This is an excellently prepared presentation. Props to you, Heavy Casefiles. Thank you for providing the victims life stories. Most other youtubers just add the victims in passing in one or two sentences then move along with the subject of their story. It's nice to get a chance to see the victims as real people with real lives that were taken away from them. I think it's easy to glamorize the murderer if the presenter is not careful. People should walk away from a video like this wishing for a chance to wrap their hands around the Mutt's neck. See how he likes getting choked out. My two cents.

There is a great documentary series on these cases (esp the Gilgo Beach victims) called The Killing Season, that also explores connections to the Atlantic City victims among others. It originally aired on A&E but you can also find it on prime and yt. Very good and very very thorough, and also has a really great soundtrack imo. An interesting case, thanks for taking the time to make the video. I would think it unlikely such a serial killer would suddenly stop killing. Either he died or has been taken out of action e.g. prison, or perhaps he has moved elsewhere and continues killing. The stories of the four women are extremely sad. It seems all had good childhoods, but, for one reason or another, lost their way and fell into drugs and sex work. We are judgemental about such people, but we know nothing of their background and personal circumstances.

I've had some commenters answer that critique with "all she/he does is read news articles about crimes". My reply is if you ain't interested, don't watch it! Do people not realize that creators spend a great deal of time and energy gathering all this info to be sure they don't give misleading or false information about these cases, which could lead to legal troubles of their own?!? Not to mention the heartache false info about their loved ones' cases would give the families! She is always super efficient when it comes to providing detailed and accurate information regarding a case. I completely admire how she delves into the deep and pumps out information which wasn't known previously. Also, she never fails to show her sympathy and respect towards the victim and their families unlike many youtubers who hardly provide victims' backstories. I have seen this case covered in many shows on TV. This is the first I have seen that featured the victims and told their story in so much detail. Well done and I hope this is solved. This case is so similar to the Suffolk Strangler in England. Check out that case and see the similarities. Both occurred in 2006 also.

Although I now live in Maine for the last several years, I grew up in central Jersey and was an adult living there when this happened and I have never heard of this case. That is so sad and crazy to me. I almost thought this was about the LISK case at first, and believe me, that got quite a bit of coverage in the tri state area when those bodies were discovered. I NEVER heard a thing about this. Thank you for sharing these women's stories and giving them a voice after it was so brutally stolen from them. Their lives mattered and they deserve justice just as much as anyone else does.

That was an excellent account of what happened to the 4 young women murdered. I am born and raised in AC. Very, very tough town before casinos and with casinos. From what I heard at the time of the discovery of the bodies, other girls walking Pacific Ave- knew exactly who did these murders. They may not have known the guy’s exact name but the knew him when they saw him. They were terrified of him. And after the murders were discovered the street girls fled AC. At the end of the day, a real maniac rolled thru AC for a period of time, partied with the ladies, was known to them, and then he killed 4 of them. Then he moved on. Probably not a local and very likely a drifter with a big history of violence against street women. Solvable.

    Beautiful and sensitively handled video.
People tend to forget these girls had a history. They had a childhood, dreams and aspirations. There is a story behind *EVERY* addict, and you shared the lives of each of these girls` perfectly.
My wife and I were addicted to heroin, here in England, for 20 odd years. Neither of us, and none of these girls, gave the response, _"Ooooooh, I wanna be a druggie!"_ , when our first school teacher asked the class what they wanted to be when they grew up.
God love, rest and bless each of these girls souls, and give peace to their loved one who are left behind. The devil have the eternal soul of the creature responsible for stealing away these beautiful ladies from the world. May his torment match his victim's perfect peace.

It’s unimaginable that someone out there is taking advantage of women that are at the lowest points of their lives which gives a monster an opportunity to take advantage of them. He knows that law enforcement doesn’t care, but these women are someone’s sister, someone’s daughter, someone’s mother and someone’s world. Until LE makes an effort to treat the women as someone’s family member, the easier it will be for monsters like this one to continue to harm and kill them. May they catch this monster as soon as possible and give the family closure and justice that they deserve!

I remember this case, as I am from New Jersey. If any of these women had been from affluent, professional backgrounds instead of drug addicted prostitutes, I am positive that law enforcement would have solved a few, if not all, of these cases. It's really sad that this is the reality of the situation.
