Thanks for another great video from the vaults. 425 looks all business-like in black with her high mounted headlight although my preference would have been to see the road name on the tender and the engine number on the cab. When 425 picked up the Budd cars at 5:45 you could see that they were rocking quite a bit though not much at all later on. The fire cleaning scene at 18:10 was very well done. Thanks again for a great video. I will be looking forward to your next posting. JM
Being honest, I actually kind of prefer 425's look here. She looks really nice in Black, and I like the big numbers on her tender. I want her to stay in Blue as she is now, though. She's gorgeous in that color.
No different whistle, This one that's on 425 is own by Andy. The other whist that 113 has is her original one, I believe that's what Bernie Perch said.
+Juan Urena ???? There is only one 425. Originally Blue Mountain & Reading, it is now Reading & Northern. It was black from 1983 to 1992? then painted in blue. These scenes are all from the "black" days. But it is the SAME engine that R&N now runs out of Port Clinton, originally built for the Gulf, Mobile & Northern RR.
Wow! LOL! Forgot how such a dark and dreary day it was. But Santa was so happy riding his train, he didn't notice. Thanks!
That CB&Q 3 Chime on 425 sounds epic. 425 should be a star in a movie.
Yes it should be on a movie
Perhaps 425 should be a star in a movie!
Great video, will always have a soft spot for the Reading, my dad's career.
I remember as a young boy riding those RDC Bud cars to N. Wild wood Nj. Oc the PRSL.👍🤠
I remember riding those Bud cars when I was a kid on the PRSL.👍🤠
Love those golden years of steam, a part of history now.👍
Awesome Video The Love That Whistle
Fantastic coverage, and oh that beautiful sounding whistle, gave me shivers. Good filming job and Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for sharing these Rich. First time for me seeing anything ride across the wooden bridge at Minersville.
I like 425 in Black, more natural looking and closer to the real Reading look.👍🇺🇸

2:32 The Whistle
I think she looks good in both black and the blue.... But I love the Pennsy 3 chime on her! She wears it good!
Not PRR. That was on in the mid/late 80's. In this video she wears a CB&Q 3 chime.
6:39 That's a pretty crazy amount of rocking and swaying from those RDCs. No way would that be allowed on railroads today.
You're right! I've been on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad (OCSR) track here in Oregon, and it's almost like this in certain sections.
When 425 returns to service, Andy Muller should bring back her CB&Q 3 chime. It sounds really beautiful in this video.
Or her PRR 3 Chime whistle from the 80s
Absolute beauty
ngl, with the High Headlight, 425 looks like a smaller version of Strasburg 90
Same builder, similar designs.
@@fmnut This is what I like about the style on these engines. It makes them look great.
00:01 - 00:12 can I use this audio?
Mushrooms and More Mushrooms sure, no problem, feel free.
fmnut k, thanks!
Very cool video! What year was this?
The opening scenes are October 1988 and October 1990. The R&N Santa train is December 1990
Where is that PRR 3 Chime that was on #425 right now?
brian falzon No idea. Don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to steam whistles, I'm much better with air horns.
The 3 chime belongs to Andy.
Thats the CNJ whistle that is on 113 now.

Supposedly Andy's PRR whistle was "stolen" while on display @ the F&F shop......
that not the only 425, there's two of them and one of them reading and northern and the other one is that one

Ok
i know i’m late
you are genuinely wrong
oh ok
The way I wish 425 still looked just lettered R&N instead of BM&R
I like it better in black.
425 actually doesn’t look that bad in black anyone agree?
I prefer it that way.
to be honest i’m fine with the dark blue
