Hopefully episode 7 comes quicker!
5 days with no new vid felt too long 😂
I’m too invested in this project already haha
😂😂😂
Dude I agree!!!
There’s gonna be some boring days so not everything is film able
@@BarbWaltersMusic I actually like the boring stuff 😌
It was also Thanksgiving weekend lol
19:24 I'm an AV guy. Put a Smurf tube in between the boxes so it's future proof. once the drywall is on the next guy will never get a new wire through there.
came here to say this.
Future Matt’s gonna be pissed when the client’s TV stops working and he can’t get another HDMI through.
100% agree. Mike and I were just talking about that.
Good recommendation 👍🏼 I’d also try to add a rear sub at the rear left corner. Wireless, if you can’t prewire for it.
Exactly my thoughts as well
Uncle Matty and Uncle Mike back for another great episode of the LZ home renovation 😂😂
Why not run the HDMI and other cables for the tv through pipe so they can replaced/added to in the future by fishing them?
i was saying the same *Triggered* as i was watching it ! i can relax now OG have seen your comment!
Yeah they are really not thinking with that one. HDMI cables are super prone to failure. They will decide to die for no reason and they installed them permanently in the wall lol.
Glad someone said this.
“The pursuit of functional excellence” that is my mentality for working out. 🏋️
Keep the the videos rolling in guys cuz they are rocking!
The UA-cam shorts are the easiest way to boost up those numbers Mike/editor.
Thanks!
All we need is a 24/7 live stream and i'll be set im too invested into this renovation!!
We need to standardize functional living rooms. TVs above fireplaces and soundbars are not it for sure
The hardest thing to bury is a bad idea. People will hang on to them with every fiber of their being.
Yes! With almost 30 years of wear and tear on my neck (and suspected fibromyalgia) from doing the kind of work these guys are doing (did 17+ years painting and looking up a ton plus many other trades) it hurts to look upward. My computer desk has two 27" screens and my eye level is at half to three quarters of the way up them and my theater is in the bedroom (Polk Audio and Sony components from the early 2000's, with a later 55" samsung 1080 TV, and a dvd recorder, tivo, all that) with the tv almost touching the ceiling so it lines right up with my vision while laying down. My garage is also laid out nicely and I try to make everything functional and then good looking. It doesn't compare to OG, but people are blown away by the thought and effort put into it. It has been a learning process and I wish I had done more sooner to make my spaces functional......I'm a bit obsessed.
I wait with so much anticipation for each episode of this series!!!! It is starting to get good!
We need a Compound lap time on the RV!!!! lmao
These guys do it. Obsessed garage always sets a bar instead of adjusting to one.
Boom!
I like it!
I’ve built many home theaters and always run A/V cable’s thru Smurf tube/conduit for future proofing and added protection. Enjoying this series and can’t wait to see the finished product.
This series is how I finally got my wife to watch OG with me. We’re hooked!
Nice!
Hopefully this series does so well. We renovate the entire compound, all shops and all homes.
I’d kill to work with Mike. The knowledge that man has is jaw dropping. Amazing work gentlemen!
THIS is the part that catches my attention the most; Home audio planning. 😊
Planning, install, setup all of it some of my favorite stuff on the channel
It really is impressive how every series OG does just gets better and better. Love this friggen project!
I would buy a couple of shirts with your tagline on functional excellence for sure, it sure describes what I'm going for professionally and personally too.
That could be so Kewl the LZ and OG collab with functional excellence on the back or something I would purchase for sure!
Pardon my ignorance but as you were putting in the HDMI cables I just kept thinking about how much of a mess it could potentially be, if you had to replace or change out one of them down the road. Once it's all finished would they be easily accessible if needed?
Exactly … I thought maybe in some solid plastic type conduit to easily swap out if needed.
I believe you could snake the wires thru? Tie one end to the other, then pull thru you know what I mean? I'm ignorant to this stuff so maybe that wouldn't work in this instance. The tolerances looked pretty tight.
Pipe/conduit would really be the best if you're trying to future proof and thinking about serviceability but it adds a lot of time and additional expense. If you're not gonna run pipe then run a couple of spares.
They will probably address that issue, most likely a temporary oversight
History lesson for the kids. 9:22 that's a CRT television on a combo mount designed for a VCR. Lol
Matt, if you want to go next level with your water. Mountain Valley will deliver 5 gallon GLASS containers water cooler jugs to your house. The only company that does this. It’s awesome.
Thanks for the tip!
Love them! The green-ish bottle Mountain Valley Spring water right? If so totally agree! I understand taste is relative but 10 out of 10 definitely recommend you Sir are scholar and a gentleman 🤝👊👌
"Don't ask for subscribers" uhhh I'm here because you guys asked me to subscribe and follow. So far I absolutely love the content. Keep it up...not the videos just keep asking for subscribers. You'll get there 😂💯🔥
This reminds me of watching the renovation shows my parents always watch. . . But better lol 28M
When you have a wall that big, you need a TV proportionate to fill it!
Yep, that little TV ain't gunna cut it
@@Thibault_95so tiny that tv looks stupid. But they are getting all excited over Apple TV and receiver AV tech from 1986 so you get what you get. How Adam agreed to have a geriatric Audio Visual setup I will never know. Man’s out here trying to install VHS 😂
@@lazww What exactly about the setup is geriatric?
@@lazww 83 inch tv isn't really tiny and whats generic about the setup?
@@LarryKay41510 I don’t think adams choosing I think Matt’s making the audio decisions
The whole house is going to be phenomenal! Mike gets it done right the first time
Can't wait to see the progression as you continue, happy holidays!
You guys have done a lot of work! Can't wait to see the next steps!
For me as a german its so funny seeing everything be dry walled, but also shows how flexible Renovations are in the US
Hey, Mike. Don't listen to the haters, Mike. There's no way you're saying "Mike" too much, Mike. Keep doing what you're doing, Mike.
💯💯💯
Been waiting patiently for this one! Keep em coming G!!!
Already waiting for the next episode. Loving the Matty and Mike reno's and everything in between.
Okay, I've got one gripe Matty, when you routed those cables through the 2x4, you always have to think about the future or the next guy. Use smurf tube or pvc. one of these days that HDMI cable will be obsolete.
Anyways, that's just my .04 cents. (Inflation)
You are right. I ran smurf tubing today. I'm so used to drywall installs.
@ObsessedGarage No worries brother, when I did my obsessed house youtube channel build, I wish I had run more smurftube and larger diameter because those cables can pile up... especially if you decide to go heavy gauge speaker wire in wall. Cheers :)
Inflation 😂😮 that’s funny I am using that, I will honor the source. “as jello says just My .04 cents”
Loving these videos guys, people will always find reasons to hate, I think the videos you all put out are very informative and entertaining.
Can’t wait to see the process this is amazing
My favorite OG series for sure!
Great episode! Lots of work fellas!
I'm obsessed with this series.
Such a huge project, but with your diligence and good planning, it's coming along nicely!!
Thanks!
You guys have made some serious progress already great work OG team
I’m really enjoying this series. Can’t wait for the launch of obsessed home.
😆🤣😂 exactly! I need OG proven quality bedding, curtains… I need levels, give me good, better, best 😆 Uncle Matty’s short list of things he is working on just gets longer and longer🤷♂️
Looking good!!! Keep it up fellas!!!! 💪🏽💪🏽
Mike had me with the TMI comment. 😂 Live not too far away. Hit home. 👍🏾
Can't wait to see the speaker install all finished want to do this in my house one day.
P.S. speaking of speakers please tell Adam to check the rms on his car Line Out Converter for his og 325i. He wonders why it cuts out but with LOC systems they have there own rating and as volume goes up the speaker input signal drops to low to deliver a steady signal to the amp and this causes the subs to cut out. So long story short LOC rms must match or exceed the amount and sub rms so when they peak no distortion or shutting off occurs
24:42 😂 boys are having fun out there
I'm not sure what covers your going to use on your boxes but most need space between each boxes so they don't overlap.
Another great episode guys 👏
Why no conduit for the hdmi cables. Going to be a pita in the future.
Byfold doors from the lounge room/entertainment area instead of sliding doors to the outdoor/pool area so you can open up that whole entry way so inside flows outside when entertaining!!
I love this series!
Keep going - fab work
From the first video, I see Matt and I know he can't retired until the last day he lives
Hey guys, if that Subzero needs parts, Southern Coastal Parts in Florida can help ya out with authentic parts.
Yes .. new fan here Matt cheers from Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺
Nice!
Are mike and Matt related? Their voices sounds so much alike it's crazy. Great video men!
I was waiting for this new episode!
Please do NOT stop saying Mike! At this point it’s a staple and would feel weird without it. To be honest, I crack up every time. Let the haters deal!
Totally agree it is hilarious!!! My name is super popular so I do similar all the time. It is a running joke
I’ve had horrible luck with ARC and switching through TV’s. When there are multiple sources, it’s just easier to have everything go to the AVR, and the TV stays on the same input all the time. With a single Harmony remote it’s all super simple. If there’s only once source I guess it’s fine. But once you add something else, even just a game system, having the TV stay on the same input makes it so much easier.
Yeah, I would guess that would be better. I only have one source on all of my displays.
Matt this is bad for me, I just built my brand new home in August and I’m already wanting to tear it apart because of you 😂
Now there is a true statement. I've said, "Damn it, Matty!" numerous times after buying a gallon of something then he "discovers" something better. Now I'm numb to it. You can run yourself into the poorhouse trying to keep up with Matt. And I have absolutely no problem with it. Especially seeing how much he has re-spent on stuff.
@@timkinley1779 😂😆😂 patience is key or just not having thee discretionary funds LOL but I am sure we will have many “ooohh that’s kewl, write that down, that makes so much sense” moments I thought I was in a good place with what I wanted and needed after the Helen house renovation but this opening my eyes to much more. Imagine when Matty actually builds a garage from nothing.
The electrical does need to be secured within 1’ of each box per code just fyi. Not the biggest deal but just throwing it out there
Here in Aus, if you need to do a join that can’t be accessed later on, we have to solder the connections making them permanent and insulate each conductor with heat shrink and or electrical tape making the insulation equal to or better than the cable insulation standard.
I want to see more of your grilling and cooking!
🔥🔥Notification squad 🔥🔥
Why not pipes/tubes in the wall for the cabling? Then you can pull whatever cables you wan't in there afterwards if needed and use connection terminals in the ends.
Looking amazing damn
Not sure if you've thought about it, but you probably want to put something outside for wifi access too otherwise connection out there will probably be bad
Hell yea a new video
Women (most I'm generalizing), especially the designer fancy types (like my wife), just don't like any speaker systems. They think the TV sound is fine.. smh. We just have to override them in the end.
A good way to eliminate an existing light box is add a plug somewhere and use it as a junction box for the light wire. Instead of having to run a new wire all the way.
The point was to eliminate the box entirely so it's not seen in the tile wall.
@MikeFigueira-OG yeah I get that but if you're putting in receptacles for the TV or other electronics you can sometimes use that as a junction. Just a tip. If it didn't work that way for what you wanted to do that's cool.
Totally off topic, but Mr.Dick was my instructor for a couple of years at Vo-Tech. Pretty cool stories came from it😁
Make sure you add the thickness of the floor and the mortar
24:41 look out the window 🤣
Let's get OG to 500k sub
lookin goood dudes
What size TV you doing? Convince Adam to get the 97' OLED LOL. Im actually very excited for the next few episodes!
It is an 83” if I am not mistaken, I think an LG C3
2:25 💯
The Crazy Carts at 24:43 🤣
You guys might want to think about running some of the hdmi through a Smurf tubing for later just incase you need to change something
Done!
@@ObsessedGarage sorry just my two cents. I’m a contractor down in Ft. Lauderdale and just teaching from my mistakes
we all like hey mike :) shenanigans ensue
"If youre from the trailer park, dasani is good" 😂😂😂
34:20 I have never related to something so much in my life HAHAHA
I was sent by Matt LZ to like, comment and subscribe😂😂
Looking good
12:00 Webber or not the followers will come my friend 🙋♂️🇦🇺
Hopefully over half a mill by the end of the week
I'm wearing my red OG shirt today also (true story).
Yall need a dry erase board to count the days... its going to keep growing!
Get a Netgear Orbi. It’s a mesh system. No need to run a Ethernet from the base to the satellite. I’ve got a decent size house and run the base with a satellite. I have great coverage and speed.
Netgear is now doing a good A/V line of networking equipment for custom installation companies and it offers more remote monitoring & troubleshooting. But the Ubiquti equipment he mentioned works very consistent in my experience.
I'd suggest running 30mm x 30mm plastic boxing from each av point, as if a hdmi cable goes down and they need a new one trying to fish it behind a £10k tile wall will be horrendous. Using the boxing u can fish wires through after the fact very easy
Lmao waterbed, solid.
I can’t remember from the design vids. What’s the plan for the ceiling?
Caulk joints, bleach mold, prime, paint. Selecting colors tomorrow.
Nice did I here you say yoy are using NAD receiver, nice stuff right there..
Yeah, NAD T778.
its going to be good💲💲💲💲
That was legitness 😬
functional perfection, no? The PURSUIT of functional perfection
why wouldn’t you use a smurf tube or a pvc conduit for hdmi? that kills future upgrades or cabel that might become faulty. Also is there a knock out bushing on your metal box?
They probably will, might just be a temporary oversight
Mike F or Matt will the amperage for the circuit and/or outlets be increased for the new higher wattage audio so it has headroom at full pull? Will the audio have or be able to have amplifiers? I ask because in my dorm room I would flip the breaker almost weekly, in my apartment it still happens not as frequently depends on what is happening (is someone cooking, drying clothes is the dishwasher going I broke it up between different outlets on different breakers and is music being played perhaps loudly to so but with neighbors approval, often attendances). I realize this house was setup up well for its time, I am just curious as to if that was considered and how so? Anyone else feel free to input as well.
20A is plenty for any basic theater set up.
@@ObsessedGarage Kewl!! Thanks for responding
Amazing series, just make sure at the end you make a 30min and 10min version off al this
Like how to renovate in 10/30 mins
People watch the shit out of those videos
On this episode of building a youtubers house... We find Matt and Mike delving into the important aspects of home remodeling such as RVs vs Prevosts and weber grill, the king of the grills! 😂 Adams house is gonna be sick!
Nice!
This whole project is Matty’s skill set don’t sell yourself short!
I like this
Y’all should just hook the coach waste line to the house clean out drain.
