Terrific rust repair! You make it look easy but I know it takes tremendous skills.

The skill on his patch panels is extraordinary, top notch work n better than factory. That's one lucky Mx5
Thank you very much! We try to show different methods of fabrication for the panels. Thanks for the support!
@@yorkshirecarrestoration ok

thank you David and yes we fully agree :)
Ey up! Keep up the good work pal
Nice, you appeared in my YT recommendations today. Interesting to watch you working. I am sure I can use some of your procedures to help with my own sheet metal repairs on my cars.
Keep on cracking!
Thank you Michael. Glad we can help :)
just showed up in mine, 8 mo later.
Fixing the headlight bracket/surround was really impressive imo. I may take my MX5 here when I decide to do the sills etc.
Thank you! We do sills and arches daily. Get us on indaltagram if you do decide to. @Yorkshire_car_restoration
This is a great video! I started restauring an old Fiat 128SE for myself as a hobby and you showed me some great skills and ideas.
Thank you Diego we are glad our videos helped :)
I really like your videos, there is no BS or waffle, just straight forward Yorkshire how to do it. Much appreciated.

Hi Andrew :) thank you for the support, we will continue to make the videos so you can both continue to enjoy them 😁👍
Amazing skills to develop the pattern for the headlight surround...can't wait for the next installment...
Hi Richard, thank you there are already a few videos after that uploaded and ready to view :)
best Miata channel
Thank you very much Jack :)
I was removing surface rust from suspension arms and brackets and then sprayed the metal with protective paint. 3 very long days under the car. To do a car like this needs a lot of skills, determination and steel patience . I don't think i could ever do that.
It is labour of love :)
Nearly there then. What an amazing resurrection this has been, thanks to your awesome skill.
Thank you Bazer. It's definitely been a journey!
Absolutely fantastic video for me as an ex MGB Owner. I rebuilt my own engine once, then bought an Ivor Searl replacement due to piston ring failure. I may have my original engine rebuilt by Grace.😅
Good job! It was a pleasure watch you work
Hi guys, new to the channel and just watching the mx5 video. The panel work is absolutely perfect and mesmerising to watch. Fab content and looking forward to watching your library 👍👍

You are very Welcome!😉
The work going into this Myata. It makes zero economic sense, which proves this is a labour of love.
It is indeed. The owner has an attachment to the car so wanted it getting back on thr Road.
A True Master Technician! Enjoyed the video!🎉
Thank you :) 👍
Great to watch and nice to learn some new tips, thanks👍

This has been a really good series of vids. Fascinating to see the skill and workmanship that has gone into the repairs.
Thank you for your support :) , glad you are enjoying them :)
Gives me hopes for my rusty celica lol. Awsome content.
did you happen to go to a college or take courses for auto body repair? or is it all just over time and year’s experience? you make it look easy from the beginning to end, i would like to do this kind of work on older cars that need restoration, love the idea of bringing nostalgia, a time I didn’t live in back.
Super Arbeit weiter so 👍
patchwork is clean and neat . Sincere work to Custamer
I don't normally say dude and I don't normally say Superstar, but dude you are a superstar.

Awesome video thanks for sharing
I’m fixing some rust on my car and I just wanted to know what do you use for rust converter thank you
Thank you , The Rust convertor we used on this car is Mipa, Miparox
try pushing the gun and pointing it towards the new disc. your work is really great.
Greetings from a Hungarian welder
thank you :)
Very good
What are your thoughts on using a donor car and cutting out an entire section for the drivers side rocker and welding it in? Vs cutting peice by peice? Is there a structure gain or loss to either method what do you recommend and why?
So good job nice 👏
Thank you! :)
มัมเยี่ยมมากๆ
Impresionante trabajo......
thank you Pablo :)
Ps love the video. Very useful to see techniques.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good job 🇩🇿 Algerian
Thank you from the UK :D
headlight surround was most interesting bit--sub!
Thank you for your support :)
Great video thanks for sharing. What stonechip product do you use? Is it an air fed one or spray can? Cheers!
Hello, great video. What gauge of steel did you use for your patches and what welder settings?
This was made with 1.2 to 1.4mm steel and welder power was on 3of 10 and feed was 4 of 10 :)
Красавчик 👍
Couple questions. What brand of rust neutralizer is that?
And what thickness of metal did you use?
nice work^_^
Thank you! Cheers!
فنان وعمل راقي
Thank you :)
Nice - I have a paint cup with some thinners in it - I use a paintbrush to flow out the sealant over the welds - dip the brush in the thinner, use that to smooth the sealant after you gun it on - leaves it looking tres posh. Underseal over that - ends up real smooth. :-)
Thank you for the tip James :)
@@yorkshirecarrestoration nothing worse than a glove finger covered in black schmoo - hence the move to a brush. Far nicer. :-)
Bem legal essa técnica de medir e cortar as peças.
Top
Thank you :)
I'm not really experienced with rust repair myself and so I'm not sure how to properly do the steps after all the metal is in place, after there is bare metal on both the in- and outside of the car. now you used some undercoating which I think is great to protect the new metal from rusting again from the outside, but those mazdas usually rust on the inside? how do you treat those areas to stop exactly that from happening again? and how would you treat a area thats not located on the undercarrage and needs to be painted over (like the fenders for example)? would you use primer directly on the bare metal or use some sort of rust converter underneath it?
rust converter is a must then either primer and some sort of underbody protection, anywhere thats repaired and sealed , access holes need to be drilled and waxoile at the very least :)
High quality🏆🏆🏆
Thank you :)
What is the silicone type sealer you applied? Bead Sealer?
Gret job, one suscriptor more
Thank you :)
Hi what rust neutraliser do you use? Been working on my old car, used kurust on one part and the rust has come back. Many thanks.
Neutraliser is Mippa, Mipparox :)
hello dear..what kind of steel plate you are using ? code or grade
wow the light surround. I would of cried having to do those shapes.
Hi Nicolas, i always approch it as a challenge and i like doing them :)
Great work as always mx5 is coming together nicely 👌🏻
It is getting there! It's almost complete! Thanks!
You made that look easy.
Thank you kev. :)
Quality metal fabrication car now looks superb again .
Thank you Paul :)
Nice work. Would love to see some primer here the panels are overlapping
Wow, I sure wish I could have given my old Miata to this guy. I had a 2000, bought mint in 2004. Loved it for a long time. Won a bunch of autocrosses. But I was young and dumb and didn't know about Fluid Film and it was my only car, year round. Rust took it from me.
Watching this work is incredible. At my shop, we have a welder come in sometimes to do emergency rust "repairs." Guy spends an hour or two, loosely tacks some paper thin sheet metal over a gaping hole in the chassis and everyone acts like it's fixed. They look at me cross eyed the next time the vehicle comes in and I tell them I can't put it up on a normal lift because there's still no structure under the patch...
We have seen repairs like that a lot, that's why we always put enough strength back so the car can easily be jacked up on the repair sections again :)
Hadir nyimak boss ku suksesselalu buatbossku 👍👍
Thank you :)
Super. Efforts
Thank you!
nice job
thank you :)
