So confusing. We keep hearing that oily fish including sardines are good or you, and now suddenly we are hearing that we should avoid it. We will never find out what is supposed to be healthy in our lifetime.
Your point of view is so welcomed. Real deep science, love and understanding of living humans and generosity to share these live shows and videos. This is real news. Cannot thank you enough.
Uric acid is only an issue if you are not lean and muscular. Show me a hundred research studies associating various foods with uric acid levels and associating uric acid levels with various adverse health effects, and my only question to you is going to be, "Were any of these studies performed exclusively on lean, muscular individuals?" If the answer is, "no,' then I'm going to tell you to throw them all in the garbage. BTW, these are the the only type of studies cited in Dr. Perlmutter's book. Being lean and muscular is the sine qua non of metabolic health, not uric acid levels. I could not care less if a particular food raises the uric acid level in a fat person. When it comes to a particular food, whether it is an asset or a liability depends almost entirely upon whether that food contributes to you being lean and muscular, or detracts from you being lean and muscular. That's your litmus test. Beer is a liability. Processed fructose is a liability. Dr. Perlmutter is right about these foods. But sardines are an asset. Meats are an asset. Fruits, in moderation, are also an asset. Dr. Perlmutter is wrong about these foods. Fruits are no worse than grains just because they are more likely to raise your uric acid level. Dr. Perlmutter has lost the forest for the trees. He has forgotten the sine qua non of good health. By the way, the same concept I'm describing also applies to other markers, like LDL cholesterol/ApoB. LDL cholesterol is only a problem if you are fat, under-muscled, metabolically compromised, or likely a combination of all three. If you are lean and muscular, LDL cholesterol does not matter one iota. Dave Feldman's research is already showing us this. We need to stop wasting money doing studies on fat people. There are a bazillion studies out there, costing bazillions of dollars, trying to figure out if this or that contributes to metabolic disease in a cohort of fat people. The problem isn't this or that. The problem is being fat! And we need to stop looking at stupid markers like LDL and uric acid. We just need to start looking in the mirror. (Okay, and maybe stop smoking.)
yes yes yes .. like so many others I am living proof, what he's saying for people who are lean and healthy and have got that way eating oily fish et cetera et cetera just proves him wrong in that context.
I remember when we had a very small glass of orange juice with our breakfast about twice the size of a shot glass. And this was mostly in the winter in Michigan.
Fascinating...I hadn't really thought about what Metformin was actually trying to achieve and that exercise helps activate the same Metabolic process. Love this interview.
So uric acid is a signal to tell us to put weight on for the winter? I can't say that having a gout attack has ever put me in the mood to 'hunt and gather'?
these studies dont take into account a bunch of other stuff like seed oil or smoking consumption... or even if the persons auto immune system is attacking them at the time... thyroid conditions.. whatever..

@NailKavak I know right?😅
People who follow along using the subtitles should be very alert. @17:24, the doctor says 13% and the text says 133%!
Thanks for being so alert and sharing this info. You're great!
@FoCoCo750 Not at all, You are most welcome.

Their task is to confuse people what to eat what not

Thanks, David, for this more balanced view. Appreciated.
I am not a hummingbird

Personally I dont think there is anything wrong with a little bit of orange or apple juice once or twice a day.

What’s optimal Uric acid level?

How does this relate to oxalates? The purines play a role in oxalates and gout right?
What the heck so cod liver oil is that also contributing uric acid??? Urghh
👍
As usual, this host talks far too much! Just ask the bloody questions without adding the commentary!!!!!
Lost me at ape ancestors. I think you’re looking for particular audience….not me.
I'm with you, I know the truth too, evolution is a lie. I still find the nuggets of truth. have a merry Christmas!
@@MrMrs-g2wI agree with you. Death by sardines? 😅, …
There are no apes in my family tree either. God bless.
