lol yeah, it took me TWO years (on and off) of learning this solo and having to go back and learn and practise the techniques painstakingly with a metronome, but still that bit at 0:54 I fudge something that sounds vaguely similar, or just cut it there and go back to rhythm. Very good - especially considering this guy look about 20 years younger than me :(
He did the thing! The little part at 0:53 is the part everybody plays incorrectly or skips. Even Marty at live shows! There are only two recordings of this solo done correctly that I’m aware of: the studio version on the album and this video! Divine

@treelonmusk7906 No, not really. Its only 1 note and changes the arpeggio from an e minor to an e minor 7 arpeggio for one singular note. I guarantee people wont notice. Its how i played it until I got a 24 fret guitar
@@oldmatevb Yeah, but Dimebag's tone is notorious for being swamped with gain and scooped out, makes harmonics easier (which is how he could make them scream like that, plus he'd divebomb with the whammy bar to add even more to it). This is such a clean tone in comparison, yet that harmonic is like fucking crystal. Reminds me of the opening harmonic in the Comfortably Numb solo.

this gives me hope. I saw bunch of other solos with people with huge hands where they didn't have to stretch the fingers like you did here. This convinced me this song is physically possible to play. I just have to practice it

Coming back to revisit this one....I think this is the best version of this solo ever recorded. It's not just better than the original like my first comment said...it's the vest version that will ever exist of this. Every note in its perfect place, excellent tone, and a unique flair on those quick little runs at the tail end. Someone else already mentioned the part around 0:54 too...truly amazing work.

No showing off, just impeccable rendition of a perfect solo. In every other cover there is some obvious shortcut, simplification, a workaround to survive Marty’s godlike challenge. This here, this cover, has no shortcuts. It’s damn near perfect. Kudos for that.
This effort has what most of the others seem to lack. The feel. The best efforts to duplicate Marty's brilliance put the fingers in the right spots but they rarely capture the groove of the solo. You did. Well done young fella. Look forward to watching your career take off.

Toco há 21 anos mas sempre fui base de metal, o famoso riffeiro, solo nunca foi muito a minha praia, sempre quis mas meus dedos não respondem, tô gravando um cover dessa música e já gravei a base toda, aí fui pra tirr o solo e tá FODA, tô quase lá! O macete é tocar devagar, pegar aqueles backing track -50% velocidade e vai devagar, com muita dificuldade mas tô evoluindo, já consigo tocar boa parte nos 176bpm nessa pegada do jovem aí do vídeo, mas ainda dou umas atropeladas de vez em quando.. Mas vai sair!! A teimosia fala mais alto!
