Ingredients for Corned Beef and Cabbage Recipe
12oz canned CORNED BEEF
1 small CABBAGE
1 large ONION
1 large CARROT
3-4 cloves GARLIC
2-3 Tbsp VINEGAR
2 Tbsp WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE
1 tsp CARAWAY SEEDS
1 Tbsp dried HERBS
SALT and PEPPER to taste
OIL for cooking
How to make Corned Beef and Cabbage
Heat oil on medium heat in a large, heavy bottomed pot.
Add in chopped onions. Sauté onions for about five minutes.
Season onions with salt, pepper, and herbs.
Add in garlic and sauté for another minute.
Add in the cabbage and carrots and continue to cook on medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add in the Worcestershire sauce and vinegar and mix well.
Reduce the heat to medium low and let cook uncovered until much of the water has cooked out of the dish. Stir occasionally.
While cabbage continues to cook, open canned corned beef and cut into slices.
Heat a skillet on medium high heat and then sear the beef until well browned on each side. Then cut beef into smaller pieces.
When cabbage has reached desired doneness, add in the seared beef and toss lightly.
Serve hot.

i watched about 10 recipes on how to make this and ive chosen yours to make today. the fact that you fry the corned beef first is what sets your recipe apart.
Chef Buck I have been meaning to try this recipe for ages, and I kept forgetting, to one thing or another. I finally had it all today and I fixed it. I just wanted to know I really enjoyed. I felt it was easy to make and had a very unique flavor. Thanks for sharing.
Made it tonight and it is sooo good! Thank you Chef Buck for this great recipe, it was easy and delicious!
I love your recipes and the way you explain them. One of my favorite things you do is when you kind of swoop down and come up at CG and add a comment. It makes me smile every time. I read someone's comment that you "make their saturdays" and I couldn't agree more!! God bless you and beautiful camera girl and may we be blessed with many more of your videos. Also, looking forward to more traveling videos. Its so awesome watching you do your magic in random spaces and making the best of what is around.
Thanks...that's a super kind comment...we really appreciate you watching. I've got a few more Mexico vids to edit together, and I still visit the Trustedhousesitters site everyday looking for places we might apply for a house sit, but we're pretty limited on the range that we're interested in traveling nowadays. We've actually got a week-long housesit coming up in a October, but it's just a short drive away from where we're currently staying...it'll make a nice change of scenery though.
I love both corned beef and white cabbage so thought I would give it a try. Wow!! Absolutely stunning, the whole family loved it, even the grandkids. Thank you for posting and greetings from the UK. 🇬🇧🇺🇲🏴🏴
Chef Buck is my spirit animal
This looks sooooo yummy! I have all the ingredients, and this looks like the perfect lunch for a cold, wintry day tomorrow!
We lived (and sailed overseas) on a small yacht in the '60's and corned beef was a staple - no engine so no fridge so tinned was it. Haven't eaten it since but this recipe is actually tempting me!!
A sure keeper. Thanks Chef Buck.
Hi & greetings from Worcestershire England! I have just sat down after preparing and eating this dish and I had to say it was delicious! Instead of using a cup of water I put a vegetable stock cube in otherwise I did mine pretty much the same as yours. My cabbage was a bit big too so I only used half.
Great meal idea thanks and scrummy comfort food!
Must try this. I love nice simple recipes.
Made this one tonight. Turned out great. Thanks.
Worcestershire Sauce is my secret weapon in the war against boring food. Thanks, CB and CG! I love cabbage, and I will definitely pick up some canned corned beef and give this recipe a try. As a single person, I'm always looking for savory concoctions I can cook in quantity, refrigerate, and stretch over several meals. BTW, Camera Girl, I also nosh on the cabbage core while prepping!
I don't get the cabbage core thing...it's CG's favorite part of a cabbage and she'll lean against the counter and eat it raw like she's at the county fair eating a treat
Just a tip from the UK - Add the Worcestershire Sauce to the corned beef and not to the cabbage mix... The corned beef absorbs the flavour more and it just 'works better', I'm not sure why, but it does? 🇬🇧
@@ChefBuckRecipes Sounds like a keeper to me!! mmmmm
That looks really good. I've never had canned corned beef before. I'll have to try this recipe out.
I'm about to my second go around with this recipe. Loved it the first time around and it will probably be a regular around here. Thanks!!
Cant wait to try it. Thank you
Very good recipe. Thank you was very filling.
I’m making this right now! Thank you!
OMG so good!!!! I just made this. I didn't have caraway seeds so I left them out. Also I had to make my own worcestshire sauce. I didn't have any and Ihad to use regular mustard. It was absolutlely amazing. Thank you for this budget friendly recipe. I have subscribed to your channel. I want to see what else you have in store.
Made the dish tonight. Taking it to my daughter and her husband for dinner tomorrow. Looking forward to tasting it. It has a wonderful aroma.
This kind of dish always tastes even better when served the next day!!😋 Same goes for soups, stews, pasta sauces, and gumbos!😉
Love that recipe! That’s what I’m going to try!
I’m drooling, corned beef and cabbage are two of my favorite foods, thanks for this.
I haven't bought cabbage for years, but this looks very tempting. The addition of caraway, Italian herbs, and vinegar will make it tasty. Thank you, have subscribed! Regards to the camera girl who does a great job.
Looks great!! I will make this, thank you!!

Awesome, can't be anything but good, can't wait to try.
Oh my goodness! This looks so good. I think this is what we will do this year. Thank you!
Tried this dish today, perfect and delicious thank you for sharing 👍😋
I learned to desalt spam and treat meat to use in cabbage or to fry for a fried ham sand. Now I’m using up my canned corn beef. I have two half heads of red and green cabbage. I am excited to watch your recipe and try it TY
I have bought the can corn beef but I never thought about adding cabbage. I think of cooking cabbage and corn beef but I think of having the corn beef to cook. This I will try this week. Thank you for the recipe
Great recipe. Thanks.
Looks delicious I like simple easy recipes that taste good. And yours is one of them thanks
I never thought about using canned corned beef. Perfect! ❤

I'm going to try this. Thanks.
This is the best quick meal on the planet.Thx you Sir for this recipe.anxious to try this,💖👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for this and other recipes using canned corned beef. I got on a frugal kick last year and started stocking my pantry with items on sale and canning produce from my garden but didn't know any recipes for my case of corned beef, made your pickle and corned beef dip today and was very happy with it. Like your vids that utilize pantry items.
Love your handle, LOL!
I've always been a fan of cooking out of the pantry, and with nowadays being the way it is, we go to grocery store a lot less, so a well stocked pantry is a better idea now than ever
@@MsLeenite 😉
Looks good ... I am going to try this .
really looks good, thanks chef!
Made it this evening and it was really good. Went relatively quick with two people chopping!
Yummy, definitely going to try that..
hope you like the recipe!
Looks delicious!
Seems like a tasty recipe, Chef Buck!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us :) Have a great Sunday!!
It's an easy way to knock out a whole cabbage, for sure. Hope you're doing alrighty and you have a great weekend as well!
@@ChefBuckRecipes I agree. One of the best ways to eat cabbage! I am doing great even though it's pretty stressful as the cases keep rising. Hopefully this will all be over once the vaccine comes soon or the virus is totally contained somehow. Take care, and stay safe, Chef Buck!! Have an awesome week ahead!
Although the printed recipe didn’t list water (I used chicken broth) the final result was so satisfying! I’ve tried CB & Cabbage before and found it lacking. Great flavor from the spice combination and the vinegar and Worcestershire really put it over the top! Thank you so very much.
I am going to try this today 😊
Thanks, you inspired me to come up with a recipe using yours as a base idea, but yours sounds really delicious 👍
Man got personality. Thank you for the recipe.
Look's good,supper done.Thanks.
Awesome thank you I'm cooking it right now :-)
Various recipes for this I'm going to give this one ago looks 👍
Thanks for this presentation, opens a whole new way to use canned meat.
Yummy. I am cooking this now
Thanks! Great recipe, i made it in an instapot, it took 25 minutes for everything. Tastes like heaven.
Looks delicious Chef Buck. TFS. ❤️
thanks!
I make this all the time. Never thought of searing the meat first. Great idea.
Same as canned corned beef hash. Superb served with eggs, but diffenetely searing is a must! Gotta have the crispy outsides!!😋😎
I watched this twice. Made it today. I added a diced jalapeño. Very good. Thanks.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🎯
This is wonderful. I have all ingreds except onion which I’ll go get one. Can’t wait.
Yummy I just added canned corned beef to my shopping list....
I always like to drizzle a few drops of vinegar on my cb&c to season it when it is on the dish and ready to eat. Erin go Bragh, laddie!
Looks so delicious
Thanks! Really great AND easy! 😎
Awesome.......Thanks
Wow this look so delicious 😋👍
Worcestershire - pronounced Wustershur ! I love this delicious comfort food. Nice with HP brown sauce drizzled on top !
Or just plain wuster sauce if you live in stoke on trent
Just made this for dinner.....Delicious!!! Made two changes - used 1C. beef broth instead of water and did not have just corned beef. Rummaged around and found a large tin of Hereford Corned Beef Hash. Really browned the hash and soaked up all the grease I could with paper towels. Made the rest like you suggested...it's a keeper receipt! Will have to get a couple cans of plain corned beef, but the hash worked great (ps, I did use 3 T apple cider vinegar...yummm) Thanks.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🤙🏾
Shalom! Deliiiiiiish! I must try your recipe! Blessings to you and yours
Nice trick putting the corn beef can in the fridge first to cut easier... brilliant!
I rarely remember to do that, but it is a lot easier to get clean slices, even if you only put the can in the fridge for 30 minutes
It's a recommendation on cans nowadays . If you don't you get slop
i love the core too but i cook it lol. this recipe looks great and i am going to try it!
Looks delicious tyvm ❤️
Just made this for my husband for lunch. I usually hate to cook. But loved this recipe. Thank you!
The proof of any 'pudding' is of course in the eating, but your presentation is irresistible. Can't wait to try it out. And any others you may have uploaded. Inspirational.
Very nice!
Great recipe, my granny would fry her cabbage in a skillet taste so good
Wow yum CB home run dish. 👍
I’ve eaten can corn beef and cabbage all my life and I’m 62. Ours was a soup though with potatoes added. No caraway or Worcestershire ….never heard of that. We did add the corn beef last. I’ll have to try the seared and dry method…lol. Also we did corn beef with fried potatoes and onions….yummy.
I'm gonna make this someday.👍
this speaks to my irish american heart. 💕☘ thanks chef buck
thanks for watching!
and to my Irish one
LOOKS VERY GOOD!!!
thanks!--and thanks for watching!
You just can't beat simple rustic dishes like this. Forget all that fancy, poncey food, this is it right here.
I almost passed this week's video by because I've already been making a similar dish that Paula Deen made when she was on the Food Channel many years ago. I'm glad I watched and learned to sear the meat first separately. Brilliant! The dish is super inexpensive and easy to make but there was always something missing. So now I'm going to try it your way. 😋
I've tried a few times to make the dish all in one pot cooking everything together, but I just like it better when I add the meat at the end after I've cooked a lot of the water out of the cabbage...the texture and flavor of the meat just stands out more. In this vid, I sear the meat and then cut it in the pan so I've got some nice chunks, but then when I toss the meat with the cabbage, it still breaks apart a bit with the cabbage. One way I like to prepare this dish, is to actually make compact "meatballs" before searing them. Rolling the meat into balls takes a little more time, and the recipe practically tastes the same, but the dish looks a lot nicer.
Had for dinner tonite. It was very good
Chef Buck is the man.
Another great yummy dish. Easy peasy.. love the way you say onyon. 😎❤
over the years, more than a few folks have commented on my pronunciation of the word onion, but none have been as kind as you, so thanks :^)
@@ChefBuckRecipes lol. .I kinda look foward to it. I say ..about.. like someone from Newfoundland.
My Childhood favorite I eat with whiterice. Great video. 👍
