Had a kid message me on a lawnmower he got to play around with and fix. He asked where a spring went, likely for the governor, and I couldn't find a good clear pic. Your video gave him a perfect show of how to mess with the carb and where that spring went he sent me a photo on. Most people move camera's around so much, you can't see details. Good job!
It's nice us viewers don't have to fast forward on this one - so boring watching somebody loosen or tighten a bolt in real time. Excellent production Thanks!
You saved my arse brother, even with Stabl it wouldn't start. Carbs are so cheap these days it was easier to replace and then use my ultrasonic for the other that came off to replace next time. This video was perfect too. Right to the point, no mucking about. I added an inline fuel filter since the replacement came with one.
Looks straightforward. I'll be swapping out the Tecumseh 640017B Carburetor on my Whisperjet leaf blower this week and this was a good primer. Thank you!
The carburator choke and valve is the same and is located on the out of the carburator before the intake pipe. The engine governor controls the carburator choke via a small rod. The second rod w/spring is for set up the RPM engine. The carburator doesn't have any set up. Use only super 91-93 gasoline w/o ethanol. The ethanol produces the gomme. A valve on the gas pipe from the tank to carburator will be a good ideea.
Is it normal for one of these carburetors to have gas leaking out of that red straw into the filter and then out of it? I bought a 4000psi water pressure sprayer dor 6 bucks and I can not figure out if that is normal or not or why it would do that.
the problem on this one is the needle and seat was leaking causing the crankcase to fill with fuel. A new needle and seat is around $6 and assuming the float is good this carb could be fixed. The replacement carb was about $11. I had good luck so far with after market Tecumseh carbs and hit and miss with Briggs. I wish you the best on your repair
since a lot of these carbs look the same but are different, you will need to find your part number by looking for the engine number on the decal located on the flywheel housing. I wish you the best on your repair
@@bbbjim1fixedit very grateful for the response !!!! I replaced mine, NO leaks...but it does not start. That screw at the bottom of the carb is all the way out...and the old one is all the way in. I wonder if I needed to adjust it. I am going to change the plug as well. Thank you again, mate !!!

Excellent video! all fix videos should be set up just the way you did. No fluff, clearly showing what you're doing, and nicely marked.
Wow, thanks

Good job sir, thanks. Fixing an old mower for gift to a new couple that moved in neighborhood. I noticed he rented a mower yesterday.
Glad to help
thanks Jim. I bought a mower for $25 an the spring and rod that attaches to the governor was a-danglin', and you showed the location !
glad this helped

Parts are available to rebuild these carbs. Very cheap easy to do , nothing runs like a QEM carb.
That is my question, is it better to replace or rebuild?
Hi great job there you know the cover / case that goes over the pully area do you know what type of screw or bolt that holds that plastic casing on?
Glad you liked the video. I am unsure the Fastner size and type since they seam to change from time to time
Installing the back side nut is the hardest part😄
it can be a bit tricky
Just spent 20 mins getting that back on lol
Back side nut tape it to the box end wrench to hold in place and get started
I took the whole assembly off including carb and intake manifold. Two small bolts which made it easy to work on
@@peteosinga8845 that is what I did to replace hose clamp on carb end of fuel line0

The only time you should have fuel coming out of the bottom red tube is when using the primer. Constant leaking is not normal
I have fuel leaking into the air filter from the red tube of the primer bulb. Any idea why it's doing that?
you may wish to take a closer look at the needle valve and seat, I wish you the best on your repair
Can you tell me where the part number is located? I have the exact carb with red primer bulb on my Earthquake Rototiller.
look for a decal on the flywheel blower housing, I wish you the best on your repair
thanks

Just wondering, is it possible to clean carb. Or replace??

I have a lawn mower Craftsman shuffle pills I got a question it runs and dies out after little time what can be the problem
May wish to try loosening the fuel cap, if it starts to venting feature is likely not working properly. I wish you the best on your repair
hello, where did you order your carb?
you can get them from Amazon or eBay, I wish you the best on your repair
From where you buy the carburator ?
Amazon or eBay have them, I wish you the best on your repair
Hello and thank you for the clarity of your video. can you give me the part number of the carburetor you bought on ebay.

My carb has choke lever looks like the governor lever both on top the carb
that maybe the throttle
I need to find just the two screws that hold teh intake manifold on and whaaaa. can't find them lol
glad to hear I am not the only one things like that happen to. I wish you the best on finding them
Hi, please tell me where I can purchase this CARBUETOR and part number ,thank you
The model number will determine the part number. I used
640350 and it good for 5hp through 6.5hp engines. you can find them easy on Amazon or Ebay
😎✌👍

No adjustment on the new carb at all????
No adjustments needed, all settings are fixed and not adjustable, I wish you the best on your repair

you could teach a small engine class
I have around 50 videos on power equipment
My self propelled lever won’t stay down
you may wish to look closer at your cable for it may be broken. I wish you the best on you repair
I can’t find part number for motor model number lev115 350154e D
640262 part number should fit
Where is the choke
this engine uses a primer button, so there isn't a choke
