There's really no question, Donner's version should be considered the definitive Superman II. It was his film to begin with and he got the shaft. Reducing all the silliness works wonders. But the 3 things that make this film fly are putting Marlon Brando back in it, the whole new sequences with him losing his power and then getting it back, so cool......and putting John Williams' score in there works serious wonders too.
