Man literally helpful ! Saw almost 50 videos but still was not getting! Saw this video and got my mistake immediately and got my lights working . I appreciate it ! Really really helpful
Wow, what a great explanation! Everyone else shows wiring that is much more complicated consisting of hubs and series-parallel arrangements. This is all you need for simple stuff.
Is there no polarity in any brand low voltage lights? So it doesn’t matter which wire u put together and what goes into COM and the 12V in the transformer, correct? Thanks!
Did you ever state what gauge your main wire is? I didn't hear it. 12g ?? And what if my main line runs short--can I spice another 20' line that is 14g to the 12g?
Electrical tape is rated for outdoor use. The King DryConn DBR 600 is a good connector. It's $3 (pair) per light, adds another minute to the job. But it's worth to to you and the next owner never to face an electrician contact problem. The grease can be a mess of it gets on bare hands or tools.
If I understand you correctly, yes it is okay and there are plenty of videos showing professionals doing it this way. It almost certainly provides better continuity than those little clamps that shove a metal point into each side of the wire.
This is coming from someone that has worked in TV production for 40 years. If you are going to take the time to make a video, please use a mic that you can attach to your shirt. What you are using is a camera mic that is almost useless. You also went into great detail to describe how to do a few things but everything was shot wide. Nobody can see what you are talking about. You need tight shots that show your hands doing what you are talking about. Just those two things will make a huge difference in your product.
@J S Video was not great. The volume was low however as you said he is not a pro. He achieved his objective, which was to teach us about lighting. Oliver was just trying to give his suggestions which I think were valid as well.

I agree. Very helpful information. I appreciate the tutorial and thoroughness/specifics.
It is very helpful for me as I do not have much experience in wiring outdoor lightings. Thank you!
Thank you for a great instructional video. :)

This is best video for wiring landscaping lights.
Would it be good practice to wrap the wire connectors with electrical tape, too? Thanks

@@tonymanero5544 Do you mean electrical tape is *not* rated for outdoor use?
Is it ok to cut the main wire from transform at each conections? The brightness on the last part of side don't get affected? Lose of luminous?

It'll be great if you wore a lighter color shirt. :D
Doesn’t matter which wire goes into the common connector?
It does not matter.

The guy is doing this solo; he's not trying to sell a training video.
I saw everything fine.
