When "Coconut Milk" started playing, it gave me goosebumps, was fun hearing it on your channel. 🎵 Even though my review was much more upbeat about the crossover as a whole, I thought it was cool we had many of the same observations (like about Fry, Bender/Homer, Seymour in NYC). I can actually answer how "The Family Simp" predicted the beer metaphor and chicken fight scenes - I distinctly remember there being a select few scenes being teased at Comic Con earlier that year, and those two were among what was shown. Anyway you and everyone else involved banged as always. 🔥
Well, the Chicken Fight scene was pretty much a given to the point of it being expected. Crossover characters usually wind up fighting, and there's NO WAY they could have passed up on a signature running gag like that. I'd've been disappointed if it wasn't in there.
Never stop making content you're passionate about brother, especially considering not only the *_QUALITY_* but the absolute f*ckin' *_VIBES_* you bring to every single upload is beyond comprehension. I had no Idea that Commentary Content could be so *engaging*, so *entertaining* , and so *informative* all whilst bringing something new to the table! Thank you bro, honestly.
I adore the 24 episode, it was paced so well it absolutely absorbed my attention as a kid. I think a lot of the jokes feel a lot more conscious of timing because of the format. None of it feels like filler.
Yeah! I think it’s good context for tariq that each SEASON of 24 was 24 hours, 24 episodes, each episode one hour long. Conceptually it’s a fascinating show though yeah i also never really got into it, i dont like cop shows
Its a very ambitious ep and it worked really really well. They hype for it was definitely worth it. The Simpsons always does ambitious concepts (Gone Maggie Gone for example) or genre-bending well, since parodies don't require a lot of heart... and heart is something they mostly forgot about for a decade or so.
No one really talking how the homie, despite not really feeling these anymore, is _still_ killing it regardless. Hope you take your time and find your groove again. Also, that Life in Hell joke was a banger.
There is a weird ass L.A. Law episode where Dan guest stars as a theme park worker who dresses as Homer and sues the park over wrongful termination. I don't know if you would count it as a crossover, but its a pretty weird watch. Dan is also in costume and doing the Homer voice most of the episode.
@@ToonrificTariq IIRC, also Homer made an appearance as a ghost at the end of a "Duckman" episode. It makes sense considering the duckman animators used to do the simpsons as well.
My friend and I always reference the family simp literally all the time especially "it alright" and "same... show." I'm glad someone else pointed out how accurate it weirdly is
I've always kind of been under the impression that family guy is this soulless shell of what the first couple seasons were because that's what everyone else told me it was, but MAN you've been putting this show in a new light for me with all the recent family guy analysis. Your positivity is so infectious, goddamn. Making me want to go and actually see the crossover, cause I've only ever seen Family Simp. Also as someone who has binged every one of the people featured (had a whole Jims MARATHON for the last couple days) I love just how much this felt like it's own crossover to me. Plus you were right, Jim's voice with your editing style is CRAZY. I was trying to wrap my brain around it the entire time he was talking.
Family Guy, especially in recent years, is just jokes. That's it. Some of them are really funny. If you're looking for deep character studies or intricately plotted stories, look elsewhere. But if you just want to laugh at some weird and funny shit, you can do a lot worse than Family Guy.
"A Star is Burns" and "24 Minutes" are definitely my faves. Something interesting about A Star is Burns though is that they actually give Jay quite a few wins instead of him constantly being down on his luck like he usually is in his own show. I guess that was to make it easier for Homer to get jealous of him, but even when Springfield sees him as this cool and intellectual celeb, they still aren't afraid to throw a bit of pain Jay's way (Patty and Selma hanging him off a telephone pole and the football thing) which helps him feel like an actual character within the ep and not just an untouchable celebrity that's only there to look better than Homer.
I get that, definitely. Only reason Simpsons Guy is longer is because they went to Fox like “oops, we made this a few minutes too long” and Fox said “no fam, make it LONGER.” I’d imagine that, if they went long on Simpsorama, something similar might’ve happened.
Had no idea about that. I would be really interested to hear that audio commentary, I'm sure it's got a lot of interesting stuff like that. ...I'm just not $44 interested.
Absolutely love how you go into what it took to make Simpsons Guy before getting into what it's about. Also I agree the Family Guy commentaries need to be easier to access, because there's so much valuable information in them, especially some of the ones after Seth stops showing up and leading them. they even get animators in on it sometimes.
30:47 I keep coming back to this insane rabbit hole, and this is the first time I realised that not only is it crazy that he was married to a Simpson, SHE WAS MARRIED TO AN APPEL. *APPLE* . IS THAT NOT INSANE?!?!

I had the same experience of thinking The Critic was just a Simpsons character until I saw video essays years later enlightened me. Very well done vid as always and loved all the cameos!
It might interest you to know that this is the episode where the infamous "Simpsons THX" gag came from
This couldn’t have been uploaded at a better time bro, the work I’m doing for my AP classes has me so stressed out😕
I love the guests you brought in for this! My SO only recently started watching the Simpsons and combining that with youtubers that can give real criticism makes me feel so much more intellectual on rewatch... even if thats all through a nostalgic lens. It helps me watch with more context than I had on initial viewing
Mostly posting just so that algorithm helps get you more views ❤ keep it up, I'm loving it. Make me think about things more
You’re awesome for shouting out UA-cam animators
don't know that i've commented on your vids yet but your stuff is seriously some of my favorite on the site!!!
