Griot's Garage Glass Sealant Review! Goodbye Wipers!

- Опубліковано 7 сер 2024
- In this video I will be reviewing Griot's Garage Glass Sealant. Glass sealant is designed to repel water to improve visibility in the rain. It works so well you will hardly ever use your wipers in the rain.
I was highly impressed by this product and recommend anyone watching this to buy a bottle. This is not a sponsored video!

I have been getting a lot of questions on how long does it last. This is my first time using the product I don’t know how long it’ll last but I will make update videos. This is also a review video not a comparison video.
i want to see what happens if you use the alcohol alone...
I would love a longevity test. Maybe do half your windshield in typical rain-x applicator and the other half of the windshield with this Griot's and see the difference a week or two later.
FAB Automotive Detailing ... Do you think it’s better then RainX? Also, where did you say we can find this product? 🤔
@@djquiksilva RainX works just as good. The only question is how long do they both stay on.
Adam Albanowicz Nothing will happen it’s just a carrier!
Huge difference! Definitely looking into this product now! Great video like always👍🏼
The 408 It’s a great product and it’s cheap! Thank you
Thanks for these types of videos. This is another product that I've been thinking about using and after watching this I will try it. 👍👍
Sean Mcmurray You are welcome and thank you for watching. It’s worth buying for sure.
Pretty impressive.ive been looking at glass treatments,6 or so.was on the fence.glad i waited.nice vid.short & to the point.i,m subbed now.well done.
Keith Knechg It really is impressive! It doesn’t have the life span of a coating but for the price and results it’s a good product. Thank you and welcome to the FAB Family!
Thanks for the review. I wanted something cheap for the winter and here it is. 👍👍
You are welcome and this is perfect for you!
Awesome video.. just got my bottle today from Amazon.. Going to get to use it on my car tomorrow.. Can't wait..
Anthony Ferenc Jr Thank you! It’s a great product
very impressive. like the video style as well, straight and down to earth. No bull 👍
Obsessive Car Detailer Thank you!
I've never seen a product like this work like it says. Great video! I'm subscried now.
Tom O Yeah I was amazed at how well it works. Thanks and welcome to the FAB Family
First!!! Man awesome video!!! That stuff works AWSOME. getting some for my cars Haha. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks! It's amazing in the rain like we have had lately. The price point is also great at only $9 per bottle.
Another quality video. Very close to 4k suscribers. I see big growth coming in your fan base numbers.... Rightfully so
Andrew Burress Thank you! The channel is growing like crazy. I really appreciate it!
Amazing product . Great job , Brian .
You have so many videos coming out , I can hardly keep up.
It is amazing! Thank you. I have tons of videos right now that need edited so you should expect to see 3 maybe 4 per week for the next few weeks.
FAB Automotive Detailing I can’t wait. You’re doing a great job and I wish you all the success, you deserve .
gkc booth Thank you!
gkc booth Thank you I will look into it!
New subscriber! Awesome videos dude! Love it!
Tracy D Thank you!
I am glad you enjoyed the results, it works so well. I have been using it since last August. I have switched from Adams to Griots based upon cost and performance. To make this go farther try using less on the applicator, you used about three times more than necessary. Second tip is only one coat on side exterior glass is suggested. Those have no wiper rubbing it away. It will still be working for 2-3 months but remember to clean the glass especially after pulling into the garage after the rain storm. This sounds weird but just like your paint the windshield collects all that road grime spray. If allow to set overnight the grime then adheres same as does on your paint. Then next day with or without wipers the water will not roll off easily once you hit 40-mph. It will shed but not the same as if you had cleaned it off. Try that test on your next rainy period, driver is clean but not the passenger side. As to bugs hitting the windshield, it works like a slip-n-slide. For the record I use Aquapel on one car windshield but it might last longer but the cost and coverage is a second to GG Glass Sealant for the price. This should not be allowed on your paint, take caution and wipe off if gets on paint. Sam and Nick did a Friday live video on this and covered application tips, wish I could find it again. Keep up the videos, enjoying every one you do.
thomkirby Yeah I really like it. I put about the same amount that Sam put on in the video and I thought to myself that it was way to much also. Thanks for the tips.
I have purchased so much Griot products because of your videos & hope they realize. I am getting ready to do this on my car. I have been using my BMW car wax on my porcelain sink for over 15 years. Now am going to try this on my sink.
Griots Garage products are always top notch! Thanks for watching
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing worked really well on the glass....so tomorrow onto the sink
Dang lol I was at the griots store yesterday, could have bought it. Oh well next time.
However I did pull the trigger yesterday and brought home a griots G9 polisher. Keep up the awesome videos Man.
404 not found Yeah you definitely need to get some Glass Sealant. The G9 is a great little machine. Thanks man
Impressive how much a difference it made, watching the water flow and bead off on the right and the difference on the left was very noticeable...Great review...
Reviewing Playing & More RPM Yeah it makes a huge difference. Thanks
Awesome video. Thanks for reviewing this product. I would like to know how well it does after 3 months if you could do an update down the line.
Thanks! I plan on doing updates as I always do.
Thank you for this video!! Gotta get this
Daniel Velez You are welcome!
You said it FAB '' ICE '' this will have to be reapplied when winter hits again. Thanks again brother!
Haha yeah you need a bottle of it. Thanks bro!
You better have washed the Mrs car, there hoof! 😁😜
@@KatrinaTrys with all the rain we've had lately I think i'm gonna have to turn the car into a watercraft. so now I'll have to use some kinda boat soap. HaHa!
Just ordered some on eBay due to this video. Was $15.35 shipped. Griotsgarage website wants $10 for shipping... So $9 bottle turns into a $19 bottle. Bought Stoners Glass cleaner at Walmart to clean the glass prior to applying this product. Can't wait to get the Griots Glass Sealant. :) Great videos FAB, keep up the good informative work! Gotta keep my 20k mile,2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4 looking like new. :) :)
Yeah shipping can suck sometimes. I usually make a big enough order to get free shipping when I buy products online. You will like this product a lot.
Awesome stuff I need to seal my new car Windows, great video mate🚗😉
It is great to have sealed glass. Makes driving in the rain much easier. Thank you
Very nice video . Just got finished doing mine. nice simulated rain slow mo
Thanks! Looking forward to your review on it. Thanks I thought slo motion would really show the hydrophobics of it.
Thanks for the great video and efforts. Quite similar to rain x but what i do not like about rain x is that it wears out very fast after a week of rain and results in patchy rain x and juddering of wiper. Any such problems with this? Durability test?
Jeff Ho You are welcome! This is my first time using the product so I’m not sure how long it will last but will make up date videos. So far no chattering from the wipers
Nice demonstration, I am super OCD with my vehicles glass, definitely gotta give this a shot.
anthony maldonado Thanks! I am OCD as well so i understand exactly what you mean. It’s worth buying!
That stuff looks slicker then a baby's rearend. That stuff is better than turtle wax on the windshield. Awesome video griots really needs to sponsor you. Hopefully we can get them to with all the flooded calls to them. That's awesome I'll definitely be getting some of this stuff.
It's slicker then snot as i like to say! Thanks for your support
Thank you for posting this video (jus' subscribed & clicked on the bell, because these videos are invaluable when it comes to detailing and what personally works best in your conditions)...This is just a polite-friendly request, but would you mind doing a review of GlassParency sometime and what your thoughts are?
outcast668 You are welcome and I am glad that you enjoy them. I will look into the Glassparency but I think you have to be a certified installer to buy it from them which I am not.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Bummer, I hope I'm not taking too much of your time; otherwise I do thank you for the positive response...
outcast668 No problem at all! I think it’s stupid they want you to go to a Detailer to have it installed. I have watched videos and it’s simple. They are just shooting themselves in the foot for not offering it to the buying public like us. Thanks for watching and commenting.
A very helpful video, will defiantly give it a try as we get our far share of damp weather in the UK.
Martin Harman It’s great stuff!
So, you don't want to use it but you will try?
Tom J Not sure what you mean?
FAB Automotive Detailing Martin Hartman said he would defiantly try it. I think he meant definitely. Was just trying to be a smart ass.
I have Meguiar's HCW on all the glass, works just fine. I'll consider using this one in the near future as it may last longer.
HCW worked good on my glass also but this is 10x better. Plus it is only $9 for this product and one bottle will last a long time.
Thanks for this. As a PCA member I've both judged and participated in full concours. Yup, have won interstate too. I do everything myself. The amount of work is phenomenal for what often amounts to a small prize. Yup, we're nutz! I've found the Griots products to be excellent but wallet eaters.
Gerald's Videos You are welcome! We are nuts but we love doing it and the end results are worth the effort. Griot’s can be expensive but worth it in my opinion.
Lovely water beads. So beautiful.
David Owen Yeah it works great!
Great review, Brian! Quick question - how would you compare the protection this offers compared to just putting Griot's Garage Ceramic 3 in 1 on the windows when you put it on the rest of the car?
Thanks! This will outlast 3in1 as this is made specifically for glass.
very good video about the product thanks!
Thank you and you are welcome!
Nice! Need to try it out 😀
Thanks! It's worth buying for sure and for $9 it's a great deal.
I am a yacht detaile(19 years now)r and this sealant is the best ive found so far and a good price and yachts are in some of the harshest conditions and it holds up amazingly. One tip I have if you have trouble removing the haze use a little quick detailer and a microfiber towel.
rx7dude2006 Dang and I thought a F350 was a big detail! Haha Thanks for the tip!
Excellent video brother
Thank you sir!
I should join a labor union because I must like watching other people working. Great review have been looking forward to it
I can start a youtube labor union and collect fees for vidoes! haha just messin with ya. Thanks this stuff is amazing.
Great video. I think a couple things that could have made this video a bit better is this:
1. Include how long it lasts
2. What are the potential risks for using this, how does it perform while actually driving?
MAX Thanks! This is my first time using it so I don’t know how long yet but hearing it’s 2-3 months. I plan on doing update videos on longevity and while driving!
Cool. Mine just arrived today. I got 3 family cars to do this weekend. 🤙
It’s a great product! Enjoy
The first thing I thought about was RainX, but I can't find it in my area anymore. I thought they had quit making it. The only thing I can find is the RainX glass cleaner that is for cleaning your glass and I assumed have the same effect as the RainX stand alone product. In my opinion it doesn't work as well as the original RainX. I'll be on the look out for this sealant. Thanks for taking the time to do the review!
Chris Biggers I think they are very close to the same. This is a great product and I plan on doing update videos. You are welcome and thank you for watching
the glass cleaner works but needs to be applied more often...much easier to apply though...i just keep a bottle in my cars and apply when i know it's gonna rain
I would like to try this I used 50/ 50 chemical guys paste wax and used collide insulate liquid wax but the 50/ 50 paste wax worked better but I noticed the the wiper leaves streaks even though I used window cleaner/ isopropyl alcohol
but in the summer I used petroleum jelly so the blades don't dried/ crack the rubber keep it moist I called it but I can't get it at AutoZone but ill get on griots web site what could I use instead rain- x have to keep rubbing that off with water does any other products works about the same great video fab
The reason they might want two coats is to use/sell more product and make more money. Might be worth testing one versus two coats.
Kelseigh Rois Even when using to heavy coats like I did you still use hardly any product. I did 3 cars and a truck with it and the bottle is still over 3/4 full. I believe they have you layer it for durability. I used to much in this video. I watched Griot’s video on this product and they added a lot to their applicator so that’s what I did. You don’t have to add that much and I didn’t when I did my vehicles.
Kelseigh Rois - If you looked at standard (used) windshield glass through a microscope, you'd discover something quite amazing (actually, the same goes with the glass of quality optic photographic lenses! www.shineprowindowcleaning.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/diamond-gelsight-768x576.jpg ), so my guess is - that by applying the coating the way showed in this video, you might just achieve the ultimate 'covering' of the myriad surface 'irregularities' - making the glass surface as 'plane' as possible with the help of the product used! . . . . . .
so if they sell moisture cream and they say apply liberally, are they saying that so you can use a LLOOTT of it rather than just enough so you have to buy more often? What the fk are you smoking? Use however much you want of the product you buy. Stupidest fking comment I've seen in a while. Use your brain i guess
Dont be cheap
@@michaeldavidmontalvo2402 Why not? It's my hard earned money that's worth less and less as time goes on.
I haven’t used the Griots yet but I have used Rain-X and Jetseal. Worked great and literally could use wiper blades either nine or very little.
Stephen Cannon I think most glass products are close to the same.
i have not used wiper blades in so long ..i used to just use rain.x but but this product last much longer .just dont use your blades that much .great demonstration
ZombieMind Freer Great to hear you have had good luck with it. Thanks
How long do these products last? First time I've seen them and the results look pretty amazing. Could it be applied to the whole car?
Zack J This is my first time using it but I will make update videos. It’s recommended for glass only.
Your comment about driving in the rain without windshield wipers on was correct. I have done this. Griots Glass Sealant is a fine product. That 8 oz. lasts a long time.
Rich Keagy Thanks! It’s a great glass sealant!
You had mentioned it protects the glass from bugs. Would it be safe to apply to paint to protect from love bugs? Or do you have another product you are familiar with that you would recommend?
Sloth It helps with bugs not sticking to the glass. This is not recommended for paint. I use Griot’s Liquid Gloss Polywax paint sealant and it helps out a lot from the bugs sticking to the paint.
I have been using this on all my windows and sunroof. It is better than rainx with sheeting off the water and lasts longer than rainx when applied. And yes when on the highway you can drive without wipers.
A3 Rocks It’s always good to hear stuff like this when you use a product you never have before. Thanks for the info!
Need to put that on in the fall right before winter. would make any ice come off a lot easier.
gsr1379 That is definitely my plan!
I am sold brother thxs... great for my rig since I do a lot of night driving
Sinn walker You are welcome! If you do a lot of driving you definitely need this.
I love Adams glass sealant, do they say how long it should last. Adams has an approximate length depending on conditions.
I am not sure if they say how long it will last but I would guess 3-6 months atleast but I could be wrong. I will be doing update videos
Can you apply to inside windows also to prevent fogging?
How long does the application you applied last? Good video by the way!
pilgrim985 This was my first time using this product So I don’t know hopefully 2 to 3 months. I plan on making update videos periodically. Thank you
Does treating the window with clay bar and the glass sealant help to prevent the windshield from fogging up?
Clay just removes contaminates. I have not had a problem with fogging up one time with this.
Great video! I applied this to my windshield outside it was about 46 degrees out i don’t know if this has anything to do with it but I followed the directions on the bottle but I had a really hard time buffing off after the second coat. It was not coming off easy for me. Any thoughts on that. Thanks
Thanks! It was probably the temperature. Rule of thumb is Detailing products shouldn’t be used below 50 degrees. A lot of times if you spray water on the glass directly it’s easier to buff off
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing thanks man appreciate that advice um yeah I actually had to use some glass cleaner to get off it wasn’t buffing off easy for me. But I usually detail in a garage I figured it was the weather thanks man great video !
I'm going to buy that, Nice one
It's definitely worth buying! Thanks
i checked the comments didn't see someone ask this but i did notice the glass looks more hazy when the product is cured on the glass . I have a tinted windshield would you say it would make visibility harder when applied
dbolt23 Once the excess is wiped off it was crystal clear. J have done 4 vehicles now 3 being mine and all the glass I have done have no hazing at all.
question, does the product leave streaks? I've tried spray waxes but the streaking on the windows drives me crazy when I'm driving the vehicle
barry bij I had no problem with streaks! It was crystal clear glass
Next test - RainX on the passenger side.
I used to use RainX and could drive without using my wipers. Not sure why I stopped using it, other than laziness, or forgot about it.
I plan on buying some and doing a comparison. Honestly though from all the comments I read I expect them to function the same.
Switch On I agree
Rain-X..... ...The faster you go on a rain slicked interstate the better it works... save your replies...it was meant to be a funny!!
I wonder how long it will last on the windshield before it does not work...does sun effect it at all??
roger bradley I’m hoping to get 2-3 months out of it. We will soon find out.
Thanks for the video - after I am done with my car - going to try on our glass shower doors...
You are welcome!
Just like Aquapel. Aquapel is a great product, works a little better then a good application of RainX. I will have to check this product out. Thanks
The automatic captions say “Welcome back to Fat Bottom Detailing”... lol
Man that’s funny! 😂
GE made one of, or THE, original product like this and dropped it when childproof caps became required, because the original caps couldn't seal the stuff in. The GE product worked great, but RainX rotted my rubber wiper blades. So I'd want to know if this attacks rubber or silicone or other wiper blades.
Lyfan Deth Good information I did not know that about GE! Knowing Griot’s products I would say your wipers and seals will be fine but since this is my first time using it I will do update videos and we will find out.
Good video! Next shoot-out video should be a side by side with that sealant on 1 side, then Adam’s glass sealant on the other side. I’d be interested to see if there any difference!
Thanks! I plan on doing a side by side comparison video. They are probably close to the same thing if i was to guess.
Rain x and Aquapel or any other sealant has the same compounds. Isopropenyl for cleaning any residue so that it can stick, silicones for keeping the sealant stuck to the windshield, and polydimethylsiloxanes for actually creating the low surface tension that repels water. The silicon compounds filling pores in the glass also helps.
Rainx carrier is predominantly isopropyl alcohol and acetone. Aquapel uses a different distillate as a carrier. Just based on carriers alone. Additionally, application of rainx best when the carrier flashes off leaving the thin coating of silicones whereas Aquapel should not be allowed to dry before removal. They are very different products.
That’s an awesome 50 50! Hahaha only you and HOOF would be lighting chemicals on fire hahaha! Great video I know I can’t stand glass anymore that doesn’t have a sealant on it because how much visibility is affected.
Yeah the 50/50 turned out great! We seem to get crazy when we are together. haha A sealant of some kind is a must for my cars also!
Give us an update on how long this last PLEASE sir! When I use the DA on my windshield, the wipers hop across the glass when used.. I bet this would do the same..
Katrina Georgia Girl I will definitely do updates. Actually the wipers on my trucked have always chattered until I applied this.
I would think that they use alcohol in the product as a solvent but it evaporates as it lays the coat of a polymer on the glass ..you are building layers...is this as good as Rain-X ?
xadam2dudex Yes the Alcohol is used as a carrier! They are very close to the same. I have a vs video coming out soon.
I would hope this works better than RainX. The problem I have with RainX is it doesn't work very good below about 40 MPH (not enough airstream to blow water away) nor does it work well in fine mist, like that from what tires throw up after a rain. It also builds up where the wipers overlap and my wipers never clear the glass in that area. To be most effective here in the S. FL sun, it needs to be applied about monthly. I need to figure out how to strip it off and reapply on a bare section.
Barry I just made a video on rain X versus this product it should be out soon. Griot’s Also doesn’t sheet very well below 40 mph you still have to use your wipers below 40
I've been using Rainx for years. All these products use an acidified alcohol as a water repellent. If you use a paper towel or just plain microfiber cloth instead of your microfiber covered sponge, you will use a lot less of the product. It typically lasts about 3 months for me and as far as ice sticking to glass, I've haven't noticed any difference.
Ian Canuckistan Thanks for the info!
I love griots sealant. Good stuff looks like your windshield needs to come out for rust work though.
Ruben Gordon Yes it is great stuff! It’s not my car.
Water spotting on my windshield drives me nuts. How do I get those off before applying this product? Thanks
You would need to polish the glass with a glass polish.
I use Pinnacle 8 Black Label Diamond Glass Coating and so far it's held up for over 3 mnths! Give it a try!
Thank you for the info!
I also use rain x windshield fluid and it puts a coating on the window. Never use a product since.
I have heard that it works good.
Same here. Since I’ve used RainX fluid, I haven’t had the need to use any type of these products. Couldn’t be happier.
Looks like same as Rain-X I think the point is how long will yours last vs Rain X
Bobby Coakachee Most glass products are very close to each other. Time will tell!
rainx has it in their washer fluid. so you never have to apply it by hand and it applies it every time you wash the windshield.
It works the same as Rain-X. I've used both products. I think that the Rain-X lasts longer.
looks exactly like aquapel, but once when i hesitated too long i couldn't get the haze off, had to polish it off because nothing worked to remove it. That's why I think one coat is enough.
I think most glass sealants are close to the same as far as formula goes. I didn’t have a hard time removing but I didn’t let it haze up for to long.
When I bought my car they applied CRYSTAL FUSION to my windows and I really love it . I have to have a new windshield put in because I have a very long crack and it keeps growing. It has been almost two years and Crystal Fusion is still working real good. Where can I get it reapplied or do dealership only ones that have access to Crystal Fusion, would really , really like it applied again. HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have never heard of that product before so unfortunately I can’t be much help to you. I am sorry
WoW!!! This is an unbelievable wonder!!!
Gábriel Priòre It works great!
I wonder if applying that stuff on the interior windshield would help keep from fogging up. 🤔
I have not tried it on the interior. I know Adam’s Polishes Brilliant Glaze is great for the inside fogging up.
If you would have used a suede applicator like these for ceramic coatings you will probably need on a few drops for the whole windshield. ..
Jörg Sennefelder Yeah I just applied about the same amount as Sam with Griot’s did in there video. I didn’t add nearly as much when I did all of our cars.
Should do a followup video using it for a period of time and what happens to it when you use the wiper, will it remove the layer ?
Darklocksly I will have an update video coming out soon.
😯 Thats Awesome 😯
Yes it is!
I would like to know if it streaks from the inside when facing the sun.
Brad Geddes No streaking at all in direct sunlight.
So often you have to reapply, and what if use the wipers. Would it wipe off?
This is my first time using it so I can’t answer how long it lasts yet. Rained here all week I have use my wipers and it’s holding up strong
That worked great! I would enjoy if ice didn't stick as much and I know Hoof would also, no need to use a spatula lol!
Daytona 5.7 It does work great! Yeah the Hoof needs more applied just before winter and flip pancakes with the spatula!
Rainx is great after an application...but then it degrades, smears, and you can't see at night in the rain.
Does this product do the same thing?
I guess i really don't understand the point of not using wipers. How this solving a problem?
Dave C. I have had no problems with smearing or streaks! The less you have to use your wipers the longer they will last.
The alcohol is to evaporate moisture in product and leave sealer behind in timely fashion . Most likely it has a silicone in it xylazine I believe. Second coat is to ensure coverage. I have started producing my own products while testing others. If have the time to make your own can save alot on product cost. Thanks for the vid
You are correct and I found that out after I made the video! I would like produce my own products but the problem for me is finding time with 3 kids, work, detailing and making videos I am tapped out of time. You are welcome
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing working on a shampoo as of now. If I can get a finished product I'd be glad to send a sample. Provided you have the time a good start is to research homemade product like liquid hand soap. I took off from there. You based in indy?
StayTunedInc Right on that would be awesome! I enjoy trying new products. I put my P.O. Box in all the descriptions. Yes I am just east of Indy.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing I'm actually down in shelbyville
StayTunedInc I’m just north of you in Greenfield!
Would this be okay for a motorcycle windshield or the helmets shield?
Jason Dahlstrom Bring plastic I am not sure. Using a regular paint sealant will work though.
Does it make stuttering sound when the wiper moves?
No it actually made my blades smoother because they use to chatter.
IDK. Reminds me of RainX right down to the description of the smell.
Exactly. That's exactly how RainX smells
That’s because RainX also uses IPA as a carrier to get the product from the bottle to the glass. Once applied the IPA flashes and leaves the sealant behind.
Aquapel lasts 6 months in florida (rains a lot). Let us know how this does for reference!
reddyuda I don’t expect 6 months out of this but time will tell!
Aquapel is the best. It lasts up to a year on average. But like you said it rains a lot in FL.
Makitta - not even joking, I apply it twice a year. Once in April and once in November
Between the 2 applications I don’t even really bother using my wipers unless I’m stopped. Over 40mph and there is usually no need for wipers and at 60mph, wipers actually are more distracting
I thought Aquapel was the bee’s knees is this much better? I’ve been out of the car detailing loop for awhile
isaac wilson I have never used Aquapel so J can’t answer that but this has been great to have on our windshields.
It worked amazing.
rt2018 always Yes it did!
The REAL test for me is does it smear and/or make the wipers chatter when you have to run the wipers on high in a downpour........
Well we have had nothing but rain over the last few weeks and this is what I can tell you so far. In light rain you have to use your wipers on the lowest setting unless you are going about 50 MPH. In a down pour and I have driven through many lately you dont even need the wipers no matter what speed you are going or even sitting still.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Sounds good, I'm going to order some.
Thanks
2packs4sure You are welcome!
So how long did it end up lasting? I've been looking at this and adams. Rainx leaves a scum on my glass after a month. I've had issues with Aquapel staining my glass. And their customer service is non existent.
Unknown Name Unknown Number So it depends on where you live and how often you use washer fluid. It lasted right at a month on my sister in laws car but she uses washer solvent all the time. On my cars I get a little over 2 months. Hope this helps
Wow! I've used Rain X for years but always looking for something that would last longer. I'll be getting this fire sure.
Rain-X does exactly the same. You have been using it wrong.
Did you watch this? He said you have to wash the glass, clay bar, polish. Then use this.
I bet you never did that with Rain-X. That is why it never worked for you.
@@myytchannel6632 That's how I prep for rainx whenever I apply it. I'd say I get 1-2 strong months of performance out of rainx, and it then it just kind of "holds on" for the next 2-4 months. Doesn't shoot water off the windshield at 40mph like initial application, but still clearly present.
My biggest issue with rainx is the smearing at night as it ends it's life span. I've not tried any other products, as I've had so many bottles of rainx it's lasted me years, but allegedly other formulations like this griots glass sealant don't have the smearing issue. I assume the products are very similar, and I'd like to grab some eventually to try out. Just to see if it does alleviate the smearing issue, because that's really my only complaint with rainx.
This product is worth buying especially at it's price point of $9.
You need to wash and clay but polish is not necessary. I just mentioned polish because we had just done it in the prior video.
This product does not smear or make wipers chatter either like Rain X does. At it's price point of $9 it's worth trying.
Will there ever be a need to remove it from the windshield, if so how do you get it off?
Sullivanserves It only lasts a few months before you need to reapply it so there would be no reason to remove it.
I used to apply RainX about every other time I washed one of our vehicles. Now, I just use their windshield washer fluid. Almost as good (almost) in my opinion, without having to polish glass. A product like this as a base along with their fluid would probably be ideal.
Icutmetal I didn’t polish the glass on my vehicles and it seems to be holding up well. I also think that would be a great combo using this and rain X washer solvent.
It looks like work but you should try to use the wiper too because sometimes when you use the wiper it makes it like oily from the inside I wish you make the second video for that thanks 👍
Dan N It worked great! We drove through a down pour Wednesday night and the wipers did not smear or anything. I had them on the lowest setting because the sealant worked so good. I will make future videos on it.
Do the wiper blades judder once it’s applied, this happened when I applied RainX.
Eddie Runcorn So far I have had no problems with wiper chatter.
