This is the best CAB M demo out there!! Incredible presentation, my friend ❤️
Haha, thanks dude! You know how to make yours sound amazing too. We should swap some presets!!
Seriously, between the Pedal Zone and JleonardJ I am completely sold on this to notes cab m... I’ve always been an “all tube amp” snob my whole life but this has really opened up my realm of possibilities... The affordability and back problems from lugging around 80 pound combo amps is a no brainer on this pedal!!!
Stefan and Jay you're the TOP 2 out there! ❤️
Wow... I was expecting the CAB M to be mind blowing but you sir play such good riffs and licks that I got carried away by them. You just earned a subscriber.
That opening jam was amazing 🤩
I’ve been thinking about getting a Benson preamp for its drive capabilities, and a Cab M for all sorts of versatility, and was thinking “if the two together can make a workable super portable sound, that would push me over the edge.” Was watching this video to hear more of the Cab M, then bam, you did exactly what I was wondering about! You may have just sold two things 😂
Ain’t nobody....
Love me better...
Make me feel good....
Knit me a sweater.... wait, that can’t be right.
Excellent post, thnx.
It may not be right, but it will be what I thinking when I hear this song from now on, haha
Right up there with Pete Thorn's song demos. Killer!
would love to see your take on the update to this box that adds preamp and other features....
Really great demo!!! That Benson into the cab m was insanely great 👍🏼
Jay Leonard's production values just scream PBS. Well done!
Someone needs to find a way to harness Jay’s energy to
solve the energy crisis. Well done sir
This is really, really helpful. The demo has a lot of clean tone representation. Thank-you!
I'm barely a minute into the video but I have to comment - great playing, and great production - you do an awesome job on these videos! Now, on to learning what the heck this thing is...
Jay, Excellent Video. You seem like a receptive guy..so..you asked what I think. Well, as a guy who plays professionally I love the sounds this makes, and features..but Ive already got it handled by other devices. I had to: I needed to do these tasks starting 8 years ago. But newer players..can just buy this and be done with it! Great demo.
I often use any one of several overdrive pedals I have lying around into Two Notes Wall of Sound in my studio. I've gotten some killer amp tones that way. Even the biggest toob snobs among my buddies have been fooled into thinking it's an amp. And I can load any cabinet which fits the sound I'm looking for. So much fun...
Killer intro, "Ain't nobody" like it 👌
One of my favs!
Absolutely made me rethink the way I could record. Close mic'ing is easy enough but to get good room sounds at home is more challenging. I love the speaker through option, makes it very versatile. Def gonna pick one up.
I cured my depression by watching JLeonardJ videos. Doctors hate me
Haha, thanks!
For real! There is something just so contagious about his smile and incredibly pleasant uplifting demeanor. It really shows he loves what he does.
@@Axiom_Link Just listened again, now I'm feeling great!
I already knew I needed this thing but you sure convinced me. Superb video as ThePedalZone guy said. His video was also great.
Yeah, I LOVE the PedalZone videos!
That box is a winner! Love it! It replaced my ADA GS-2 ! Way more features with the Cab M! I've had mine for a couple weeks and still discovering and experimenting. Found out it has Bluetooth, so no hassles with a cable.
Any latency issues with that?
@@cookie1138 None at all.
Wow! That is a seriously killer unit. Stick it on the end of the pedal board and away we go! No more miking battles! I'm off to the shop for one of these! As always, another great review from you. Thanks so much Jay for bringing this to my attention! Your channel doesn't get the attention that it deserves and I'm sure there are many of us who already follow you that feel the same way. Please let us know if there's any way that we can help get the word out.
You’re having so much fun. Love it.
I didn’t t understand anything you said but man are you an awesome guitarist!
Ain't nobody... Does it better... Than Jay! Great video as always. My very animated bass player had a bad habit of taking out my amp mic. I bought the Torpedo Captor and use the cab sim direct to house. It's been a great solution. And my sound is the same every night. I am eyeing this piece for the tweakability, however. Wish it came with your chops.
Haha, your bass player sounds a lot like me :) Glad you are digging the Captor!
Great playing
I love your genuine enthusiasm! You're super talented at presenting. Great content. :)
Damn that is so good. Great demo Jay. I've recently have been looking at this type of setup and I had been heavily looking at the Iconoclast. This thing comes out and it just does so damn much. There are obvious trade offs between the two and I wish I could get the opportunity to mess with both units with my setup to see which one would work best for me. I definitely think that digital processing has gotten amazingly good in the past few years. It also cuts down on my carry load which is always good! I love my "real" amps, but with digital leaders like two notes, neunaber, line 6, meris and many more, it has become abundantly clear that digital can sound just as good as an analog setup and opens up new possibilities for us as musicians. Nice demo and props again to two notes for delivering a fantastic product.
This sold me on the CAB M. Thanks man!
Very good presentation I hope UA-cam or somebody is paying you good money for spending the time to make nice videos!! Good luck in your music career, you're good !!
Thank you for the demo! I like your guitar playing too ! 🎸❤️
"Basement of a hospital " 🤔, we didn't even have punk shows in hospital basements 😂. I've only seen a few videos of Jay Leonard and i like how happy he is all the time he also did the best demo of the Hughes and Kettner Black Spirit 👍
Nice Jay , that box wow! it's so much more than two notes . Such an understatement LoL
Awesome guitar skills and entertaining reviews! 🎶 🎸 Thank you!
I was looking to buy one. This video deserve the CabM. I’ll never play/sound like this !!!!
Ok mine is now in command. My banq is happy 😤🙃
nice playing style
Excellent Jay!
Keep up the good work.
Thanks.
Chaka Khan intro! Nice!
Fantastic demo, thanks!
Is it possible to go from your amp into the Cab M and out into your speaker cab and then hear the cab M at work through your actual cab? Thanks
Excellent! Thanks for all the info!
Thanks for this review. Really cleared up a lot for me
I need one! Thanks!
Great video! Nicely done!
A stereo version would be cool. The Torpedo Captor X has stereo feature but no inputs for adding delays.
Sounds Great! Thank You!
Very Informative 👍👍🎶🎶🎸Keep Them Videos Coming.
Pretty cool idea using it for stereo delay. Wish I didn’t have to buy a leclean to pull it off though.
Your vids are just fantastic
How have I not found your channel sooner?!?!? (nevermind... the shitty youtube algorithm...) The best review I've seen yet!
What about the HiFi monitors that you are using. Saying that your sound is consistent just because you are using cab M is a bit of an overshot, because one of the variables is going to be the the HI FI speakers that are playing the cab M sound.
Someone said the same about video....Didnt understand a thing.....didnt matter...LOL
I have the Mooer RADAR. Nice and has a headphone out too!!!! Review soon on my channel.
GreaT DEMO JAY!!! WOW!!
Awesome review!!
That Deluxe sounded so good, I need to quit my job and rethink my life.
haha, Keep the job so you can put some cash away for a vintage Deluxe too :) Thanks for writing!
Jay nice job on explaining the C.A.B. CAB, I think there is another model out can you do the demo on that one comparing the two?
Jay keeps spending my money.
:)
nice intro
Top notch demo Jay!
As a guitarist and audio engineer, I'd love to see something like this as a stereo stomp box though, maybe even with an A/B/Y feature. Something to the likes of the Digitech Cab DryVR, but much more fully featured with all these options going out (to) two different cab IRs. Stereo sound-scaping without the likes of a physical amp, even as small as a Princeton, would be tremendous. I'm chomping at the bit to make a rig happen with proper stereo IRs for a DI setup, and this is SOOOOOOOO close!!!
that robben ford look-alike tele tho O.O
Would you have to use a preamp type pedal with the Cab m..it already has a preamp on board?
6StringStanger No built in preamp but you can use distortion/od/boost pedals with EQ before it as the preamp
HI Jay - great demo. One question. When you use the CAB M as a DI in conjunction with a mic in front of the speaker, are the two signals out of phase? Does the CAB M allow you shift it's signals back into phase with the other? I currently use a Radial JDX for a DI as well as a mic in front of the amp going through a Radial Phaser (to get that big sound through the PA). This allows me to sync the sounds up (or intentionally get that out of phase sound which is sometimes pretty cool). I'm really interested in this CAB M - looks like a must have for so many reasons. Awesome playing as usual too... thanks Jay. Cheers, Pete
did you find out more about this?
@@d.a.t.4699 Sorry man, I didn't. Still using my JDX and Phaser - which is actually quite amazing for larger venues.
Thanks for sharing this nice video! I have some questions about the CAB M... When you use the CAB M in gigs you don't use the CAB M pre-amp, PowerAmp and cab sim functions right? Then why is it useful for in those situations? And I guess the tone is different from when you play at home or studio since you are using the real amp preamp, power-amp and cab, isn't it? Furthermore, the response of the amp to external pedals should be different too.... I don't get the point how to use this device to get always the same tone (gigs, studio and home).
...just asking for a friend, how many hospital basements have you played in? BTW - fab demo :)
What was your signal chain when using the blackspirit 200. Thanks in advance.. Dig your energy and skill
so what kind of speakers are the most efficient to play with a Cab M? active PA? active near field monitors?
That intro tho! Great Khan tune. Great job as always!
7:58 oh daaaang son...that tone... Makes my day
this one can direct box?
You mentioned using Cannabis Rex speakers. What are your thoughts and personal opinions on them? I play my Two Rock Studio Pro 35 through a 212 cab with Cannabis Rex speakers in it. I enjoy them but I’m not good enough at describing why. They just sound great clean & dirty.
Will it work for Bass???
Hi great video. Can you go straight to a speaker from the Cab M.? Thanks
Yes you can 👍
25 dislikes? Who in.his or her right mind?......hold on..25 frustrated competitors!
@JayLeonardJ Hi Jay, If you had the choice between the Cab M and the Neunaber Iconoclast for your direct to "front of house" solution, what would you choose? Thanks for the great videos.
The Iconoclast is great for that "ideal" cab sound. No fizz or harsh frequencies and everything is just smooth and lovely. The CAB M. is a very true representation of the response of a real cab with real mics. That being said, I do find I reach for the CAB M more often when I need to go the cab sim route.
Love your videos, and your playing. Do you have any insight as to how this sounds as an amp-less/direct to the snake scenario. I play at church where the stage is very small. I am trying to eliminate the amp for space and to save my hearing. I would be using my Strymon Riverside as the preamp. Thanks again for the very helpful and inspiring vids.
JLJ is "super neat"!
J, I have the Cab M and the Le clean. Do you happen to have the preset you use for the Cab M that you share? I would love to see your settings and how you use it. I really enjoy your style of playing
Is that the Black Lodge you're staying in?
Hey man great demo. I have a question for you brother, what do you think when you compared this pedal to iconoclast? Thank you
Couldn’t you run your amps preamp/efx loop out to the Cab M and use the Cab M’s power amp feature to record to DAW?
HELP! Can you explain exactly how you connect your amp with the torpedo in 4:20??
So, when using this live with an amp and cabinet it does not affect the sound coming from the cab; the line through signal is not affected by the CAB M? These only affect sound going to FOH, recording or headphones?
Your physical speaker tone is not affected by the CAB M :) Enjoy
What Tele pickups are you using? I heard you mention them but now I can't find the reference. thnx
Hi I just have a question, im running through my pedalboard straight to the mixer (im running ampless) and here is my effects chain:
Guitar > CP-1X compressor > volume pedal > wah > Micro Pog octave > Ibanez TS9 (OD)> Walrus audio Mayflower (OD) > Klon KTR (OD) > Fulldrive mosfet 2 (OD) > JHS Double Barrel V4 (OD) > Juliar Chorus > Strymon Timeline > Strymon Bigsky > Ditto Looper > Bonafide Buffer
I recently purchased a sansamp GT2 pre amp pedal, where would I place the two note CAB m? would it be after the sansamp gt2 pre amp pedal > mixer or cab m > sansamp gt2 > mixer?
thanks in advance! and great video!
i have a similar pedalboard as far as using the GT2, as my preamp pedal. (along with dirt and compression delay reverb)... As i been doing some research, i would place the CAB M after the GT2 and before your delays/reverbs then MIXER.. hope that helps
Even 1 ms latency is not good enough. It's not the actual time difference that's the problem, it's how "connected" the sound feels to the instrument. This is why analog is vastly superior, not because of sound quality which the CAB M has in spades.
What are your thoughts on the ADA analog cab simulators?
hey! Can you use this as an "preamp" thing, to go stait to PA? Or do you need to go through an amp?
Not with the current version, but there is a software update coming out REALLY soon that will make that possible.
Hi, were you able to connect your Bluetooth earphones to the CABM?
Unfortunately not. There would probably be too much latency to have it make sense.
Is that song from one of the Rocky movies or something? I recognize it but can't place it.
Aaaauuugh! It's going to drive me crazy!
"Ain't Nobody" - Chaka Khan :)
非常感谢
Why were you in the basement of a hospital?! Was it Canadian Filipino gang related?
You weren't clear as to whether or not you are sponsored by the makers of this product.
Most of my vids are sponsored. It is what keeps the page afloat :)
What you really need is to learn how to play that intro riff correctly.......
Brilliant Jay! Awesome use of this piece of technology! Im always at awe of your playing though bud - energetic, soulful, and rawkness! Keep it up man! Hopefully your channel keeps growing bud!! And also, I think that things are going in an interesting direction in terms of traditional instruments and music right now... We're not really at the forefront of the light anymore and that gives us a chance to grow in different directions and expand... Hopefully with technology and a twist of different thinking - pedals and instruments will take music to a whole nother level! Only time will tell
Impressive bit of kit, but I love the playing. Great feel and taste.
This guy must have a full diary.
Love that you played chakkkaa ka ka ka aka kaan. ❤️
I have the Mooer Radar pedal on my board and its does a great job of shaping tone to being perfect. I do find it a bit limited with IR's about loading new ones. I have never been able to get the pedal to load new IR's I wanted. SO I am looking for something I can and this might be what I am looking for. People always think that delays, and reverb are the only things you need just is not so. Those are a must, but what else is a must is being able to use different cabinets like this, EQ pedal, and a Preamp pedal I have always used. I use the Mooer Gold 012 Preamp pedal right now and it truly helps color your tone running in the effect loop. I'm able to dial in nearly any sound to sound almost like any band. But it seems the fun never ends with new gear. Glad I can across your video. I'm now going to have buy one. Know my wife is going to hate you for this, haha! 😉😉
I love the Mooer Micro Preamps. I have two 002 UK Golds, a 017 CAE Plexi, and a 006 Fender Deluxe.
Two of those into my Stereo Cabzeus from GFI absolutely rules!
I don’t know about the cab m. I don’t have la queens and all that stuff. But that was a killer rendition of Ain’t nobody , rufus always seemed underrated back in the day.
One question is .....Can the cab M handles the load from the Deluxe Reverb amp
as you explained on minute 4:25 ??
To my surprise, i thought cab M is not a loader but just a preamp passive signal that can then be put on your DAW ???
a biy confused because then there is no use for the Captor using your method !! erhhh ???
Can you explain what signal has that (copper/silver) cable that you connected from the Amp ( is it from the output of the Deluxe amp or the preamp section? )
Please can you or someone explain this ??
He uses the cab m in between the amp and it’s speaker. So no need for load box
I always see the Le Clean together with the Cab M. Just how good is this duo?
Hmm the rise of near soundless stages at gigs... it’s sure nice to still have your amp on stage and get great amp tones!!
Better than a GFI Cabzeus Stereo?
