Watching you play always reminds me of how much FUN playing guitar is! That's really what it's all about, right? You've helped me discover how much fun pedals and stuff can be. Having recently discovered a few real nice reverb pedals it's even more fun than ever! This from a guy that gigged for years using only my guitars and a Twin Reverb. I sound a lot better now!
I've been using the CAB M+ live now for almost a year.. and when I am learning new tunes I spend a couple hours going down this rabbit hole finding new tones and trying different things... The one thing to take away from this is that it is just as easy to dial in a 'bad' tone or rather a tone you don't want as it is to dial in a great one. Work it one part at the time and you'll find many awesome tones.
mate everytime i stumbled upon a video of yours in the last few years, i just got baffled by your great chops. man your playing is just awesome. especially your sense of making a tune work with the sound is just on point. i remember your video in which you compared all the different types of strat pickups. you just got a delicate touch on all that stuff. thanks for sharing!
Great video and GREAT playing! The Cab M+ is truly an awesome piece of gear especially in the hands of a pro like you! Really love mine and I've only scratched the surface.
Mate. Amazing video. I’ve just bought the Captor X because I already have a Victory V40 amp, but I have to say, if the sounds on this video are all direct from the pedal I’m blown away. I’ve watched other videos on the Cab M and it sometimes sounded a bit off. Also, love how joyful you are with your playing. It’s refreshing. Subscribed.
I’ve got a CabM+ and a Captor. Arguably the more versatile duo. But even using good headphones I just can’t find the sweet spot where it sounds like a cab in a room. I’ll use some of your advice for further tests.
Hope the vid helps :) Try one of the big condenser mics: backing if off and putting it off axis a lot. Might give you a little more of a room quality :)
What helped me to get an excellent amp-in-a-roomish sound is to use WOS instead. There you can use two Cabs simultaneously. Both of the cabs are set in a studio (reverb) room. One cabs get mic’ed far away(to get a roomy sound). The other is mic’ed very close. The one cab is then panned to 10 o’clock, the other one to 2 o’clock. Try it yourself. 👌
If I remember correctly, if you put your second mic to BYPASS, it let's direct guitar signal through. So, if not using second mic, put it on MUTE, not BYPASS.
@@JayLeonardJ so, basically, rewatching the video, I see that most of the time you had your DI tone on, blended with the processed :) And this is interesting aspect, because you got very lovely tones, and DI part of the tone seem to play important role in it! :) Actually, DI tone was one of the secret on 80s crystal clean tones on many popular records. So blending it in can be one of the secret tools for tone shaping. You should now make a video about it!
I’ve got a cab m coming I’m planning on running it through my other new toy the Powercab 212 plus Also just got the new revolt pedal now and a stomp xl Now the madness begins but I agree this was a good vid Helped me feel better about getting the Cab M, Although I have to dodge the jail warden now… Wish me luck!
U make everything sound good 😀 I am going to have a pretty similar set-up, using the cab m+ as pedal platform. I hope it will sound good with my LP too 🤞
Jay, just came across this video. Awesome tutorial (and awesome licks!) Question: whenever I turn on the PreAmp, I get an awful buzz/hiss that I can’t get to go away. It’s a little present with the power amp, but not too bad. Have you (or anyone else here) experienced that? I don’t hear any of that hiss in your video…
Hi Jay. Thanks for your awesome help in dialing in tones and vibes on the Torpedo C.A.B. M plus! Two Notes is now selling at least 3 amp speaker sims of the MUSIC MAN style amps. If I am not mistaken, both the MM 112 & MM115 can be purchased as seperate sims, but the MM412 may only be included in a bundled package. I hope you do not mind, but I included a link to your vid here on my recent Music Man Two Notes Sims comparison video ua-cam.com/video/_xszWqgoqvo/v-deo.html. God bless!

Best cabM video we've seen yet. Very well done good sir.
Also, your playing is remarkable!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Now I have to go deep dive mine. Great video brother
No prob!! Great to hear from you :)
Thanks Jay!! 🤩
Definitely! Great work on the gear :)
As someone who has just purchased the Torpedo Captor X and really enjoys your playing I would love to know what your top 10 Two Notes cabinets are…
I love the Revv 2x12, the Fender Princton (Dark Prinz) and Twin Reverb. But man there are tons of good ones.
I have REALLY been enjoying the "Fundamental" series of cabs my Mirador Studios. Really awesome sounds in there :)

You are 100% correct. Great catch.

Entertaining - what a good way to learn how to use Le Cab - best video out you Tube - I pre order le revolt - hope to have a video that great!
Glad it was helpful!

Helped me feel better about getting the Cab M,
Although I have to dodge the jail warden now…
Wish me luck!
is it possible to use a pedal switcher to switch between presets on the cab m?

it definitely will :)

When I’ve used it to play live without an amp direct to soundboard, the audio techs there complain about too much noise…
Very strange. Mine is clean as a whistle. I would definitely connect with Two Note customer service to help you with that one.
Can it be used just by plugging in headphones, without plugging any outputs to the outside, and listening to the different cabinets?
Yip
Nice video. I was wondering if there is no phase issues when you use two mics. How two notes deals with that. They automatically align the signals?
I believe it automatically keeps everything in phase. That being said, you do have the option to flip the phase on the mic strip
You’re awesome! : )
Thanks!!
Nice video, very helpful
Thanks! Hope it helps :)
@@JayLeonardJ Do you think the Cab M would work well with a Boss GT1000 Core?
Is it really not possible to use two cabs simultaneously as in WOS?
Not for this one unfortunately.

Is this better than an Amp simulator?
I like to use a separate amp simulator and use the Two Notes for the Cab Sim :)
@@JayLeonardJ Awesome pedal for sure. Good speakers are a a must with a DAW. Great playing & demonstration
