Regarding the comparison to the Revv: the one thing you don't get with the CAB M vs. the Revv D20 is the MIDI control to switch the CAB presets that are loaded into the Two Notes section of the D20 (power amp, eq,. And it has its own built-in loadbox as well, I think.
I really like your videos but sometimes it would be much better if there were time codes to different parts of a video. That would make the content perfect! Anyway, thanks for the honesty and thorough reviews!
I would love to see at least a short video on using the CABM with a Synergy module but I guess the Le Clean was basically the same thing (but not exactly?).
the best part of the video is when you're sticking the cabm on the back of mini 800 😂 I have Cab m and it's a really good device! but I sticked to the pedaltrain 😅
Great Demo Henning I use the Laney Iron heart studio in the studio which as a XLR balanced out could I just plug it straight into the cab m and then into my interface ????
I´m thinking: you should be able to (with a plug adaper) use the XLR ouput of a Hughes&Kettner to plug it into the line input. You wouldn´t need a Cab.
You said the old torpedo cab model can't work with an amplifier and that's not true, it works the same only when it connects to a load box , I use it with suhr reactive load and it’s sound amazing
I wonder if with all this line level capable guitar gear coming out and with you just doing that whole synth thing, if you can look at using synths (either hardware of software) with guitar pedals and amps and such!
Hello sir Love your videos. I ended up buying the joyo cab box which is kinda like the two notes cab m in this video you are using. I'm wanting to do what you did and mount the cab box on the back of the amp, I'm not sure it will work.it looks like the two notes can handle speaker level but not sure if the joyo cab box cam.hoping you or someone could help.thank you
if i plug it between the amp and the cab ... does it change the sound that is coming out of the cab? or is the change in der DAW or FOH hearable? Thanks! nice videos btw :D
I have a Orange Micro Dark. It's the only tube amp I have, anymore. I also have a Tube Pac Preamp. I'm not sure which one I should plug the Orange into first. The CAB M into the Pre, or the other way around? Anyway, I'm assuming you can still use the Amp Simulation, regardless, of what amp you're plugging into the CAB M? Thanks for this series..This has really helped me decide to get one of these cool magic boxes.
Do you think it would make a big difference if the load box behind the C.A.B. M wasn’t reactive but resistive, like the harley benton load box thingy? That would make the whole situation a lot cheaper...
I don't think so, because you're going to use the cabsim anyway and grab the signal between the amp and the loadbox but you might want to take a look at the captor X or the new darkglass pedal in combination with the "old" captor
Amazing videos as always, what if the guitar head amp has an speaker off switch. Like a mesa boogie triple crown or mark V 25/35. Can i use the cab M only without a LOADBOX?
Michael Fox hey Carlos Alvarez, I just bought the cab m and have the mark v25. It works flawlessly with the speaker switch in the back of the amp. Removed all the signal going to the actual cab but left the signal going to the cab m. Sounds killer
I wont do that...the heat will damage the cab m and the psu, also the ties will overheat and will break...just my overprotected think...but its an awesome job
Hey guys, Can you please help me. I have the torpedo m cab and a fender hot rod deluxe. I'd like to know how to use my fender tube preamps through the torpedo without damaging anything. I am aware the fender's speaker has to take the load and i DO NOT HAVE A LOAD BOX, so that's fine with me if the speaker is connected. Would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you.
Dear Henning, thank you for your interesting videos! I do not understand this: The Mission Engineering 529 delivers 9 Volts DC, but the Two Notes Torpedo Cab requires 12 Volts DC. And the Two Notes company insists on this requirement. So, how did you make your configuration work? Cheers!
I have a similar setup with the same CAB M pedal and the pedal seems to be overriding the amp, I can't get a clean sound on my amp and I have no idea why. This never used to be the case. Any help?
You definitely make some great videos with a lot of depth and detailed information. I would love to pick your brain about a Hughes & Kettner grandmeister on 0 watts with a cab m+. I have a few questions. But you’re probably too busy for a single human, existing on the same fucking planet as you. Anyways. Salve!
@@EytschPi42 : I asked myself the same question... So what's the point of this speaker out connection ? To be clear : it means that you could send a different sound to the XLR and a P.A. with the simulation but still hearing the sound of your 'real' cab (without any simulation ) ?
Is it me or did this really sound bad a lot of the time? Far too much hiss - maybe that was just the Single coil hum but also poorly EQ'd - far too much treble that a lot of this was actually 'painful' to listen to... Henning usually has such impeccable audio as well as well as video quality, rarely do I hear so much hiss and poor EQ. Not saying EVERY sound was bad but a lot was and maybe better to use the volume control or a Humbucker guitar...
with all the options in the software, you cab dial in bad sounds.. and I dialed in a few bad ones... the possibilities are endless.... but you can get great sounds.... however, I don’t do demos, but reviews... I show you real experiences with the gear... so if it souded bad at times, that means it can sound bad. These sounds need to be tweaked and adjusted to the amp as well... once you found your sound though, it delivers!
EytschPi42 .... totally agree. Been using my Cab M with different amps and configurations of load box ( amp to load box or amp to Cab M then speaker out to load box) , also different load boxes (Captor, Weber Micro Mass and Fryette PS). Different adjustments needed for each and a bit of a learning curve but once you find the right setting your good to go. Great piece of kit. More importantly, great review that shows how things work in the real world. The fact that you are playing with the gear for the first time in many cases is far more informative than reviews where people have been finding the right settings and overly processing, Great work as always. 😊
I dont get it.. You said it needed a load box... OK, so why is it that you didn't use a load box when you wire tied the boxes to the back of the head? ...and what the hell were you talking about with the Mission Engineering power box? Why convert a 5v signal to a 9v signal when you can just wire in a pedal power box instead and have no need to convert? ...also, where did the 5v come from to power the Mission Engineering box? ...All very confusing indeed! Thanks
the load will come from the speaker that you would use behind the cab M. Using a 529 means you can use a power bank which I also attached. that is the benefit of using a 5V to 9V device.... no power cables necessary.
So, I have a Katana Artist. Would it make sense to go out from the katana->into the cab m-> then into the Audio interface? Would they give me a great micd sound but without all the mics? Thanks!

that noise is off the hook and you can hear it cut through everything whilst it lurks in the background. It is sucking of all the balls and kinda ruined it for me.
i currently have a quilter 101R head which i play without a cab through headphones only (can't play loudly at all). the h-phone out is not an emulated output so it sounds like crap; in which case i think the CAB M would be my solution. if so, should the CAB M be connected to the amp input and into my pedalboard or to the h-phone out only?

You don’t have to use the app at all, you can make all changes directly on the Cab M screen. The app just has a nicer interface.
I would love to see at least a short video on using the CABM with a Synergy module but I guess the Le Clean was basically the same thing (but not exactly?).

Hi Henning, can use the quilter interblock 45 with cab m. Because then you don't have use the speaker out connection of the cab m l think. 🙄❔
Great video an great sounds but where is the noise coming from?
Yes, I agree the background noise and the persistent buzz from either the guitar or amp was distracting.
Great review 👍🏾🙏🏾✌🏾🎸🔊

not with the balanced out, but Inak sure you can wire it up effectively to be used with the Cab M

What kind of cable to go from amp to C.a.b. And from c.a.b. To load box? Regular unshielded speaker cable?
Will the signal be fed through the cab m (Amp in --> Speaker out) if it's turned off / has no power supply?
Yes.

you can just go out of the fender's FX loop out... then use the Torpedo's power amp simulation.
Can't you put it in the effects loop ?
I would also like to know if that noise was single coils or the cab m?
Single coils, before he starts fiddling with the app you can see he's on the neck position.

Good review Henning! Would it make sense using this with just a combo so no XLR out to a front of desk?
if you don't use it as a speaker sim, then what's the point?
Orr, instead of mounting a battery powered power supply to your amp. Just use a Dreierverteiler!
Yeah that whole powerbank think was silly. Not the powerbank itself, but the converter costing well above 100 bucks?!
