INFO: Josh Homme has for a long time been one of the most influential front-men in the international hard rock scene. But has it always been this way? In this video we'll take a closer look at how Mario "Boomer" Lalli and Iggy Pop influenced Homme to create his very own sound and style in music.
What other Qotsa related topics should i talk about next?
Eagles of death metal
Kahless Lie don’t listen to this guy! More Homme lol
josh kicking that photographer in the face lmao
I think it would be great talking about the other band members, past and present, and explaining their backgrounds and their influences. I know that some of the members have little or no background info available like Victor Indrizzo or Alfredo Hernandez, but I’d love to see their influences and how they may have contributed to Qotsa’s sound.
@@thisperson6708 Oh yessss
Remember kids, it’s only falling in love because you hit the ground
To be so civilized, one must tell civil lies
Clooooooose your eyes!!!
His lyrical approach has been eternally fun to follow. The play on words are ingenious & often hilarious.
Lie Likes Music:
Music = Queens of the Stone Age
Hehe basically
Music = Kyuss
I hope to have Iggy's body when I, too, am 97.
Lmao, if you're going for a smack-ravaged, rotisserie chicken-lookin' body then more power to you bro!
Kyuss when Brant Bjork left and QOTSA after Oliveri's departure were significant changes in his music.
That Epiphone Jack Casady Bass sounds so f***ing nice!
It's ok, you can say "fucking". You're not in church.
You should totally do an all encompassing John Frusciante video next
THANK YOU for mentioning his radio show ! It's incredible and everyone should give it a listen.
Eheh i didn't actually talk about it in this video. I think this is my first real attempt at click-bait with the title. Just honest.
Another quality video. Always great to get a deeper perspective on Homme
Thanks for thinking that.
that was such an amazing video! Thank you so much for making this video
I learned a lot about Josh Homme's backgrounds. I love his music and I would dare to say he's the greatest rockstar of our time.
Cheers from Venezuela! Keep it comming dude
great video as always, love your content!
Love this stuff. Keep up the great work mang
Amazing video. Quality content, great visuals, keep it up!!
Brilliant video! Interesting facts, in depth analysis and intelligent conclusions. Keep up the good work!
Love your videos dude! Keep em coming!
Thanks Matteo. I sure will. Plenty more to make.
Damn! You really don't know how I'm enjoying all these videos about QOTSA, TCV and Josh homme. Please do not stop doing them, they are magnificent!
Thanks a lot for saying that! I won't ever stop because they're some of my favorite bands.
Wonderful video as always
I dropped my phone when I got this notification I was so excited for this video!
Whats with those Marc Maron podcast segments? They are just a musical bed for me, no talking...
Actually, it's ok on my PC, but when I played it on a phone SPEAKER it produced only very faint hissing (the Marc Maron sections), almost unhearable. With earbuds it worked fine... What a weird thing.
@@piggy201 Huh that's strange. I usually always edit with my headphones on. But i'd never expect that there would be that much of a difference. Hope you understood what they said. It's one of the better segments of the video imo.
@@LieLikesMusic Well, I replayed in on PC. From what I tried, those segments are for some reason unhearable on a phone speaker (at least on my phone). It's just the talking, too, not the music underneath. I guess it must be some technical issue with audio and speakers.
@@piggy201 Wow i just checked this on my phone. It's the same! The BG music is still going but no interview audio. I guess there's a reason they called it WTF with Mark Maron...
My UNEDUCATED guess is that the talking segments are only in the side audio channels and the music is playing in the middle. So when it gets played by a mono speaker like a phone (or my bluetooth speaker) its only producing the middle channel frequencies.
What a wonderful presentation, I have learned so much from this. Thank you very much for doing this and sharing it with us.
Was great to see living room gear demos in the video! I know he is a huge QOSTA fan!
Really good video, your channel has been amazing.
This is incredible! I’ve learnt the most about him from this video and I know a lot about Homme and QOTSA! You broke it all down perfectly, loved this documentary style video :) only thing I’d say you missed is Trent sang on the track Era Vulgaris which always blows my mind when I hear them singing together
Yeah he also sang on Kalopsia from Like Clockwork. Love that song. Thanks a lot for watching and for supporting what i do. More Queens related videos are on the way.
Marvelous, just a very deep insight. keep it up
Today I did my frist tattoo and it's the lamp from era volgra. Thanks for the video
Beautiful work here. Excellent even
Beautiful work man!! All them witches please!!!!
YES!!! THANK YOU!!!
No problem dude.
Very beautiful, very passionate made summary of my favourite musician. Thanks a lot. God bless you, him and all of his friends and mentors.
Loved the vid lie! I was wondering if there was a technical difficulty because when the interviews where shown all I could hear was a faint hiss
Phil 6669 noticed it too when watching it from my phone. But worked with headphones nonetheless.
It should work with headphones. For some reason the audio is only rendered in mono. It's really strange. Never had that problem before. So headphones it is
Podcast's parts are muted. Is this a copyright issue? :C
Really Nice one !!!!
great stuff
Really would like to see something about Homme's connection and friendship with the monkeys and Alex Turner himself. Thanks for sharing!
Great video.
There's some points in the video where we can't hear the words during interviews .. The files didnt transfer
Living room gear demos!!
I needed this as I was just starting a report for school on josh this week
Ah that's so cool. Glad to help.
He’s an innovator. He and Maynard are my two biggest inspirations.

Didn't you do a video on the Generator Parties from the Palm Desert scene? I can't seem to find it
Please can you please do a video of The Brian Jonestown Massacre at some point.

Hey guys this channel is absolutely fantastic! Its weird to know other people are as interested in this guy Baby Duck as I am. You guys have to check out The Desert Age doc it’s beautiful!
OK I think we can all agree that Josh hommee is the coolest person to ever live, it's just a fact at this stage, I mean the man has made some of the best music of the 21st century and started my favourite band of all time ( Queens of the stone age) I have much respect for him
Ufff man thanks for this intersting video you mentioned "Hawkwind" please do a video talking about this band
Can you tell us what living room gear demos video that is? Can’t find it on his site.
Oh and QOTSA 1st album best song is If Only. Hands down one of my favorite bands.
Oh damn.. I love that Post Pop Depression album..
Iggy and Josh's Post Pop Depression was best album of 2016. Great, great album.
Post Pop Depression is one of my favourite albums of all time.
***Podcast segments with no sound are fine with headphones!!
I still want that black Ovation GP Ultra guitar. Hell I will even take the Applause model, if I could find it.

Hey thanks man. Always good to have you here.
Thanks for the video kiddo! I can see passion for music pushing you through this. Nice choice of topic. you heard of "Samantha Fish? Blow your mind.......
Great band live. I've seen em twice. I find a similarities between QOTSA & The YYY'S
Great video, do one like this on vulfpeck
whatever josh homme's doing i'm doing. just something about his thoughts and behavior accidentally molded me.
i kind of love every word he's ever said and every choice he ever made
Does it include stabbing your best friends in the back over and over, and kicking women in the head?
@@kommissar.murphy Oh wow so original. I swear you guys are made in a Josh hating factory somewhere.
@@kommissar.murphy i dont do that
same, partially. every1 makes mistakes that they don't love. i do, a lot. you can't love everything you do because we get mislead & thrown off track by lies & desires that yea can teach us lessons but a lot of the time if we're paying attention to our intuition/plans/heart etc. we already know what we're supposed to b doing/where we're supposed to b going/what's "right/wrong" etc. that's why you get in touch with yourself & yer gut feelings because it'll usually lead you in the direction of what will make you most happy or away from what will harm you. there r a lot of lies & distractions too that ppl push in front of you to keep you away from things for 1 reason or another. it's up to us to figure out what's what & a lot of ppl fail, myself included.
Can you a video on Van Morrison?
Still waiting for an Homme solo album.
He'll never do it. Why would he? He knows excellent musicians and just like was said in the video,he likes fusions, he wants to do something different everytime, and its easier with more people
Yeaaaah 🔥
Indeed ;)
Do Baroness, High on Fire and/or All Them Witches please!
High on fire*
Thank you, my german keyboard autocorrected it
yoo baroness would be dope
I've gone however far needed out of my way to buy every album Homme's ever put out under his various bands since seeing QOTSA as a kid when they were touring Rated R. The show was seen as a huge bust to them assuredly, as most ppl there were talking and milling about like so many loose assholes. But it made me pick up a guitar & I'm eternally grateful. (can't find a few desert sessions albums)
A,axing vid!
Do Alice in Chains and or layne staley
I've been begging for a while now buddy lol. I got my fix from Rock N Roll True Stories he has tons of vids on them and Layne
@@Randy-lb6sn this guy did a brilliant job with QOTSA so really would like to see him do one on AIC
Do Alice in chains and or Jerry cantrell.
Why are the podcast parts muted?
Another person commented that it might have something to do with the audio being rendered as a mono signal. Apparently you can hear the interview with headphones
More Josh Homme
Can we get an "Understanding The Drums"?
Lie can I ask where your accent is from?
I'm from Norway
Do a vídeo with Ministry and NIN.
LLM and LGD emerge... more of this please
What's LGD? Thanks for watching
@@LieLikesMusic there's an R missing... Living room gear demos (;
If you are into swans, then I would be interested in seeing a video about them.
21:39 PAUSE Awww look at em, just adorable.
That can't be a real human voice.
Please can you talk about Apetite for Destruction in the next video please?
Brazil
Do Highly suspect
Tame impala, all them witches, sleep.

audio is off on the interview sections
Understanding mgmt
However I don't ever will be good like home, this video just makes me want to create something new.
Great video but podcast parts are muted.
Thanks. You can hear them if you use headphones. For some reason they're muted with computer speakers
Understanding Silverchair!
17:14 his fucking what? Wanna try that one a second time there dudelinger?
Edit: them copy strikeS

Dat copy strike from Marc Maron. Unfortunate.
Let's face it, Kyuss was Josh's best output, but the first 3 QOTSA albums weren't that different the classic Kyuss records.
Brown.

Everyone likes my videos. Even before they've seen it ;)
You are misspronouncing Homme, its actually annoying
I still want that black Ovation GP Ultra guitar. Hell I will even take the Applause model, if I could find it.
