I love listening to your videos at work man. I need more lore
The thing I find most intriguing about plasma guns in Fallout is they have a chance to gooify enemies & that's btw not a thing which would happen irl. Certainly not in the way it happens in say Fallout 4 where people disintegrate on a molecular level into cold green goo from being hit by a single bolt of plasma.
It'd make better sense if the plasma rifle gooification was because of strange matter but that would turn other things into strange matter as well
I think you missed the whole part about getting plasma weapon technology from aliens?? If I’m not wrong mothership zeta has the first plasma pistol made on it I believe
That way merely speculation by a conspiracy theorist. That was not confirmed from actual in-universe sources behind their creation. Especially considering the multiple differences between alien weapons and plasma
@@tinaherr3856 weird. Odd that I remember reading computer logs stating the US had stolen alien tech and made the plasma pistol to which on mothership zeta you can find the safe that pistol was in. I’d have to go back and look into it.
The Reppcon Q-35 model may be, seeing as their whole thing is Space. The Winchester model could be totally invented on their own.
There is two plasma guns you forgot to mention first one is the Gatling Plasma and also the Enclave Plasma rifle both of these are from Fallout 76.
To recall Harkness's memories in The Replicated Man you say, "Activate A3-21 Recall Violet." Zimmer also calls Harkness A3-21 before saying, "A3-21 Initialize factory reset authorization code: Beta, 5, 3, Alpha." The rifle is called A3-21's Plasma Rifle in reference to Harkness's serial number, not out of any reference to the gun itself. We know Harkness was an early synth corsair and, as such, likely had access to specialized and modified equipment, thus the atypical weapon for a synth and improved stats.
the scientific inaccuracies r irritating me a bit… plasma is the most common phase of matter in the universe, u can make plasma by putting a fork in a microwave. plasma is the least dense phase of matter where a gas is so energetic that the electrons in an atom cannot hold onto the nucleus that they came from. it’s very mundane, every fluorescent light bulb u have ever been near is lit up by mercury plasma. every lightning strike is 78% nitrogen and 14% oxygen plasma plasma. every doorknob that shocked u, plasma. every single fire or flame creates carbon plasma. it’s not mysterious at all.
Indeed - my take is that the big breakthrough is somehow containing it in something like a magnetic field so it can remain dense and hot enough to actually inflict meaningful damage at a usable range, once it leaves the weapon...
I never realized plasma was that common tbh
And 99% of fans or players really don’t care……we want funny cool sci-fi
🤓👆
But where’s my colorful heat blob-throwing weapon then? If not plasma?
I thought "bolt" was just a generic term for a roughly linear segment of matter OR energy, a la a "laser bolt" or a "bolt of lightning"...
Great video! I thought A3-21 was his designation by the institute.
Was the Plasma Defender pistol from New Vegas mentioned? I may have gotten distracted and missed it during this video, but I remember really liking that sidearm.
Thanks for your content brother
I think it’s interesting the plasma weapons in fallout one we’re very overpowered to the point where they are competitive mid to the late game but in fallout three and the other ones Other energy weapons are way more competitive in late game and in fallout three there is just no competition between plasma and laser because laser has more automatic options
Magnetic bottling, in a torroidal form, we have done this IRL.
I was gonna comment this myself. It was called the marauder system and the us did it successfully in the 80s I think then blacklisted everything about it. We haven't gotten any new info on it in like over 30 years.
Id say the plasma thrower is probably the most realistic pladma weapon
All i know the Plasma Flamethrower attachment is perfect.
What do you mean whats the deal with them? They shoot green, thats it.
Particle accelerators can move hydrogen to near the speed of light. A guy got hit by such a beam of plasma.
As a Fallout 76 player,
I really love my Enclave plasma flamer.
bolt like lightning bolt not a bolt like in frankenstein's monster's neck. like the one that brought frankenstein's monster to life.
Plasma weapons are high damage low velocity. Makes loud vats builds viable.
i love my plasma rifle in 76. named her debbie the world ender
Respect the use of rdr2 content in this video!
Asides from wildly excessive recoil, the biggest problem I have with Plasma weapons in F4 is just how incredibly fragile they look. Way too many sharp corners, exposed wiring, snag points, the ergonomics are outright nonexistent, but to be fair this isn’t exclusive to Plasma weapons, as Fallout 4 has vast majority catastrophic weapon design that makes me want to gouge my eyes out from how badly designed they all are.
I always assumed that the plasma weapons were intentionally made to look like that since they were more experimental compared to other energy weapons, so their designs would be a lot rougher with more exposed parts
Sorry but plasma weapons in fallout do not fire mass only bolts of energy. Similar to bolts of lightning not nuts and bolts kind of bolts.

Now i dont wanna claim anything, *but* something doesn't seem right here.
I assume you're either insinuating that the views are fake or the video isn't very good so people aren't engaging?
Say what you mean. Paying for fake views is a terrible idea. It confuses the algorithm and could get my channel banned. It's also expensive and doesn't help get actual views.
So maybe people just didn't like it enough to engage? Maybe there's something I need to improve on? Or maybe I just need to ask people to like and subscribe more, even though I find that annoying.
I'm a real person who has worked for over 5 years doing this as an audio podcast and trying to expand into youtube more. The audio versions of my shows do very well, and I've been a full time creator for years now. I'm not risking my career to bad decisions like buying views, so if you have constructive criticism, don't hold back.
I just don't appreciate insinuating that I'm a fake. I've worked too hard for that.
Yeah dude more people should like this video it’s really well made and explains a lot
you have mentioned TWICE that Fallout Tactics "is not considered cannon by somebody" but do you really consider that Fallout 76 garbage a cannon and a good reference?
Me when I’m corny and obnoxious:
Canon is defined by those who currently own the IP. It's not about feelings or what you or I wish were true. Also, it's canon with one n.
