Slinging bull was at one point a slang term for telling lies to continue a conversation. Thematically, the perk effects line up with this, since you'll be known as a talkative liar. Although it is much funnier to RP throwing actual bull.
One of the "nice touches" for the show is how they worked some of the perks, like bloody mess and cannibal into it, and pulled no punches about what this would look like in real life.
A new channel for long form lore and trivia videos? Yes please!! Great voice, perfect level of energy to keep me engaged, and you seem to be well informed and enjoying yourself. Keep up the great work, and I hope to see more from you
For number 2 it’s not weird that cannibalism exist in the wasteland it is weird that a vault dweller from 101 or someone who lived pre-war like in vault 111 and 76 would ever indulge in it
Aqua Boy. Did I suddenly grow gills? I mean I won't complain since no rads in water and infinite breath, but what are the implications? Am I just an offbrand aquaman? Am I actual aquaman but the mutated fish hate me? And why do I still get rads drinking the same water I'm bathing in? Seems odd. But I won't complain
But, if you didn't kill said Uncle, and then when you show up he's just lying there and nobody else has claimed it or anything, then you're doing the villagers A FAVOR by eating the corpse. Now, they don't have to bury it or deal with it rotting and smelling bad, and you're not going to be snooping around and trying to eat french fries off of people's plates.
Tame one here but I've always found it funny how in Fallout 4 the crit system basically makes you will your bullet into doing extra damage and not missing
IRL people have been shot in the head and survived. I see critical shots as extra accurate. Especially as I cannot "hold my breath" with the Xbox controller. It supposedly can be done, but not by me. My aimpoint is swinging in an inconsistent lopsided figure 8 and I have to wait and try to time it and fire when my sights are crossing the aimpoint. OR, I can try for a critical shot in VATS because a 32% for a VATS headshot ain't gonna cut it.
One I find weird is 'Wasteland Whisperer', found in Fallout 4 and 76. "In one easy step, you too can speak Scorpion, Crab, Lizard, Mosquito AND MORE!" Also for reasons, you need THIS to pacify Gen 1 and 2 Synths and not Robotics Expert!
Robotics expert is for hacking more traditional robots, Wasteland Whisperer can affect Gen 1 and 2 Synths because they are codes as monster types. On the other hand, why don't the terrifying presence like perks also affect Synths?
the best time in a fallout game for me is in fallout one. I got the trait jinxed and used all my points in luck. Made for a lot of funny scenerios, and luck gave me the special encounters. A personal tradition is every fallout character I start with I put everything in luck first. I did it in fallout 2 and 76. There have been several situations in 76 that were weird encounters, and weird scenerios that scream "that was really lucky"

So the dog food one isn't too out there. In the usmc we were taught as a pow you ask for dog food as it's the most nutritionally complete thing you can eat as far as protein fat and carb contents plus the iron and minerals we need.
Dude who says "Cannibal makes no sense" Sure man, no human or culture has ever done that before or at worse in a survival situation. It certainly doesn't make for good lore or role playing. 🤦 smh
“Bloody mess” mixed with “Far Flung Fireworks” is the epitome of “I shot you to ded with a tiny gun and not only will you explode into a gory mess but said gore has been turned into a meat grenade”
Several of the less practical seem tailor made for niche role playing. Gun Fu seems the opposite of weird. It’s trying to give a reason for higher damage. You’d hardly bat an eye at all the generic gun perks that increase damage with every rank. That’s a staple in games. Gun Fu uses martial arts as a reference to explain that increase. And the game itself performs in a way that makes it make sense. You get into a flow state, finally slowing the world down with each critical hit (the camera slows during criticals.) Your shots grow more deadly as you become more Zen. Just my 2 cents.
Re: Gun Fu quibble Given the lore function of VATS as "Vault-tec Assisted Targeting System" as creating firing solutions for you to use, presumably Gun Fu functions by increasing optimization of those firing solutions, resulting in increasing damage, a hypothesis further supported by the fact it turns shots at all targets after the third into automatic criticals (which can't miss unless they're physically blocked and you don't have the perk to shoot through cover) on top of the doubled damage.
Nuclear Anomaly is one: Your health got low so now you explode like a mini nuke and it heals you up to 20 HP and removes your radiation in the process while also damaging anyone around you. Bloody Mess in fallout 4 and 76 if I remember correctly gets really weird at max level, because when you kill someone and they explode into meat bits, there's a chance some of the individuals around them will also explode into meaty bit, so you can literally punch a guy so hard that not only does he explode into meaty bits but so does the guy next to him.
In the show I need them to lean into Bloody Mess. By that I mean I want to see the Ghoul shoot a guy with a small pistol and they explode into gore, to the confusion of everyone else around.
Only time I took the Cannibal perk was the first time playing Survival. But the Dark Craving addiction was WAY too obnoxious. Especially when you accidentally eat a corpse by hitting the wrong button, and boom. Dark Craving. No way to cancel the action. Even when I hit level 286 or whatever and have enough perk points to raise all the SPECIAL attributes to 10 and get every perk too, I will deliberately leave that one alone.
far flung fireworks is more like an extension of meltdown from New Vegas, which is energy weapon kills may cause enemies to explode (and possibly chain react)!
Actally hanatophage is more nuanced The family are canibles (via mutation) who suffer uncontrollable urges. Vance teaches them control and to sait the hunger with blood. So that’s what he’s teaching you
I kind of get gun fix it is an intimidation thing if your buddy just got shot you might look over to check on him dropping your guard in a way but it should be if they die in combat every one else has lower armor or has a chance to flee and it goes up if you pop each guy after. Like you ambush a guy with like 6 guys and boom 1.5 seconds later half your squad is dead. Yeah might be good ideal to run.
Your comment reminds me of UA-cam videos of 3 or 4 armed guys breaking into someone's home. A gunshot comes from the homeowners bedroom and the "armed baddies" almost break their necks getting out of that home.
@@biostemm No that's your pip boy making the noise. The bobbleheads have a chip in them that resonate with your pip boys radio. (This is all head canon not lore accuracy or true but it helps make it less weird)

You are playing a solo game unless you are playing the bastard child of Fallout (76). You don't have to put points in a perk you don't like. That is a perk I never consider. I don't want something like that popping up in my dreams.

The dogfood, cannibalism, as blood things actually does make sense if you consider how oddly adaptable the creatures and people of fallout are. With the dogfood you have to remember that the reason dogfood isn't all that good for you but is edible has to do with amino acids and other nutrient requirements. That perk is the result of you adapting to eating dogfood. The exact same thing is happening for the cannibalism and blood. In this case it's actually more reasonable if you consider that at some point early after the bombs dropped, the survivers would have likely had to resort to eating each other. It's the genes they inherited to let them thrive on that waking back up. (you know... What Vance more or less explains)
