0/10 out of ten they removed the elytra roll and I can’t change the biome scale or how many caves and structures can spawn in a superflat world and they don’t have the mashup pack maps.
I'm so happy this is a project. Bedrock to this day feels so clunky, cluttered and slow, and Console Edition will always be the definitive Minecraft experience to me 🙏
This just made my day. Console edition was my childhood, I played it ever since it existed on PS3 and have been there the whole way since. Bedrock replacing console really hurt my motivation to play the game, on top of playtime limits and kinda getting bored of the game. But after taking such a long break (like three years since I last played), I'm ready to get back into it. And this is just what I need. Just give it the mashup pack worlds and finish all the little details and we'll be golden! I'll definitely be using this whenever I get around to playing the game again. Would really be something to transfer all my old console edition worlds over to java with this mod (though I don't know if that's possible), and then just run around in them again. Also would be cool to play the minigame maps. I never played them in their heyday because I had serious rage issues back in the day and couldn't stand losing. I'd love the chance to return to them and truly experience it, even if I'm not great at combat XD
I just found this and I am so close to crying ive missed this and I missed all these mini games on console i used to play at its peak and this brings so many memories back
Adding other mods with it enhances the nostalgia too because it shows what the og could have been with mod support. Seeing a tab for the mutant creatures mod looker so sick and the people that made this should be proud
i don't have any particular nostalgia for the legacy console editions, *but* this would make a perfect excuse to play this on my CRT TV, since this GUI was designed with CRTs in mind back then. i might just download this mod for that explicit reason.
Its amazing how the community of this edition still flourishes so much that talented people have created a mod that completely transforms java to legacy Minecraft. They did such a good job it pretty much looks identical the the console versions!
Minecraft Xbox 360 edition will always hold a special place in my heart I started my world after the creative update on October 27, 2012 a week before black ops 2 was released to this day. My world is 11 years old And I’m still building on it I finish building Natch der untoten last year and I’m now working on zombie verruct in my world
It's so wholesome to see that something like this exists. I'm currently not playing on pc but it's comforting to know that if I ever loose access to my Xbox One version I can hop on there and keep enjoying the classic 4J Minecraft experience.
Bedrock edition in concept is great. Cross platform multiplayer is perfect in Minecraft. But in execution not only does it suck in terms of performance, things like cross platform multiplayer barely working and the monetization, but it also just lost what made legacy console special. That definitely is just nostalgia talking, though. I just much prefer the look of the legacy console edition, the darker and “grittier” textures and the lighting system. Those control tips in the bottom left corner and the translucent hotbar that’s made huge to be seen on a tv. The slow movement of the camera because of the lost precision on a controller. The muted colors in things like animals and wool. The lack of animation when things like shears are used or animals are fed. The skin packs, and the few skins that were free in each of the paid ones. Searching the activity board and club pages for the game on Xbox to find people to play with. Bugging the hell out of the friends that I made to get up and play with me before 7:00. The green glow of the Xbox startup screen in my dark bedroom. I long for those times again.
tbh, if you REALLY want the old feel, download and emulator of your console that you played on, find a rom of mc legacy for [insert console here] they're everywhere, and loader it up. TRUE NOSTALGIA. Not hating on these amazing devs that devoted years on these projects. They are infinitely talented. I hope them the best.
when i was a kid, i remember when 1.13 first came out, i was absolutely hyped for the next update.. which never came, i found out that 1.14 was never coming to the xbox 360 edition and i was bummed out. in 2018, i eventually got an in-date xbox one and even now i play java on a laptop (boo-womp). whoever thought of legacy 4j and reconsole sincerely get my love and thanks for them.
I had Minecraft Xbox 360, but since we never had Internet back in the day, we basically had the day one build. Then the disk broke, but I do have the Xbox one edition disc, and it still works
Kinda glad this exists because I was never allowed to get the 360 edition which means I can’t download it on the new gen consoles but this is close enough
I wish Mojang gave a gamma setting, bcuz console edition's high gamma made the game look so good. Let's all be honest, both Java and Bedrock edition nowadays looks very unpleasing to look at. Modern day minecraft looks so colorless, feels like nothing pops out to me, unlike console edition and Java alpha/beta which had a lot more color to. I feel like this color issue is one of the big reasons I find it hard to stay engaged with Minecraft. Some ppl will say liking older minecraft is just nostalgia but I genuinely think older minecraft is just prettier to look at and is one of the major reasons ppl love it so much, whether they realize or not. But what confuses me is that modern Minecraft has had this bland look issue for a while and for some reason Mojang hasn't tried fixing. Do they not notice it or does not concern them? I feel like I'm a lot of times less impressed with my builds when they have that console edition or old Java look to them. Modern Minecraft just really dampens the mood with its look. When I was young I wanted to play with shaders to make the game super immersive, now I just want Minecraft to look like Minecraft again. Glad this mod exists, it's gives gamma option and allows Minecraft look like Minecraft again, it also adds some other great 4JStudios Minecraft features like the Tutorial worlds. When I was stuck with Bedrock, I was upset they didn't keep making the Tutorial worlds, but I guess when I think about it now, the only reason why we got the Tutorial worlds was bcuz 4JStudios was making the console edition and not Mojang; and 4JStudios always wanted to go the extra mile for the playerbase. I absolutely love 4JStudios and to be completely honest, I think 4JStudios was the best company for Minecraft. Even though I don't play Bedrock edition anymore, I wish Bedrock was being developed by 4JStudios instead of Mojang, bcuz I feel 4JStudios would actually respect the playerbase more and give them an actual respectable game. Getting Minecraft updates from Mojang feels alright, but getting Minecraft updates from 4JStudios feels like Christmas, bcuz you get a major update and amazing Tutorial worlds that everyone loves. Love 4JStudios, bless their souls, and good to them making their new game and thanking modders for reviving this amazing Minecraft edition (P.S. I'm also glad they put the old Netherrack back into the Nether, I love that ugly ass looking block ❤ :> )
These mods were definitely made to be played with a controller It's quite amazing the love and detail that went to the mod. It brings me back haha, and I bet you guys are also feeling nostalgic ;')
Just want to note something, (probably has been said), but only on console, you can revisit legacy mode. When you open up minecraft, there's an option saying enter older version (i forgot what it said exactly) which takes you into legacy mode. Though not all tutorial worlds are there, but the mini games are fun to revisit.
i loved the minecraft minigames, i used to be super good at the combat minigames like spleef, but my sister would always kick my ass in the elytra games
