I want to fix the adressing things. 1. Splash screen text (52), "this text is hard to read..." can be found on more recent versions of Java and bedrock, I'd just assume since I never saw it on either version. 2. Obtain Water Block (10), is 1.13 and up only. 3. Dupe chest glitch (31), works for every version. 4. Stand on Cactus without taking damage (6) only works on ps4. If there's more to fix, please let me know.
the splash screen text mentioned isn't even exclusive to newer versions of java/bedrock, it has been there since alpha versions of java edition and one CTRL+F on the minecraft wiki page for splashes will tell you this
You can duplicate items inside of the chests in the tutorial world if you don't complete the corresponding tutorial. Just go into a designated area, like enchanting, get the items out, walk away until the box to the top right disappears, and walk back in, and you'll find the items are there again.
Bonus Fact #1: (PS4 only) If you change to the old textures, the cod item will get the old fish textures before 1.13, and the Nautilus shell will get a different texture, probably from Bedrock 1.13 beta
Bonus Fact #2: Petrified Oak Slabs exist in Legacy, but only in Xbox 360, and probably Xbox One if you passed the worlds, you could obtain Petrified Oak Slabs since Xbox 360 had some TUs where Oak slabs were considered stone slabs, and the water transmutation glitch too, it even works in recent TUs
Bonus Fact #2.2: Water transmutation glitch could also help you get unobtainable smooth stone slabs that would later be actually added to PS4 in the 1.14 update, but only the full block, not the individual glitched slabs, and those slabs would be replaced by Quartz slabs
Bonus Fact #2.3: Water transmutation glitch in some later TUs before the patch made six-sided logs (I think), sideways logs, and some weird glitched blocks in the PS3 edition obtainable, but it’s a bit weird, since some could be obtainable, and others couldn’t
Bonus Fact #3: Legacy is the only edition to still contain Shrubs, a removed and unobtainable block in Java edition that was removed in 1.13, but in Legacy it was kept, and even got a texture change in PS4, it has some interesting things like not being able to be placed on flower pots
Bonus Fact #4: On the early versions of Xbox 360, the crafting menu icons for different sections, like blocks, tools, redstone, etc, had a different texture, which I think changed in TU1 or TU2
PS3 demo fact: you can have unlimited time by playing split screen. once the timer runs out it will ask to buy the full game, from there just back out and in the first player screen it will be in the pause menu, but the second player will be able to continue playing. I did this bug back in 2015 to play with my cousin for countless hours.

If I recall correctly, it's a proper port of the Java version to C (whereas Bedrock is essentially a bad remake of the game). The extended version of cat(or dog) is actually a scrapped separate music disk, if you've ever looked at the Volume Alpha songs, Cat and Dog are always separated
I’ve had my PS4 Minecraft disc for as long as I can remember. I love going back to the old version (Because there is a special button) and getting a HUGE wave of nostalgia.
That legal reason was correct, Sony aren’t big on Crossplay (especially when one of the first AAA games to push for it is owned by their main competitor) that’s also why it’s taken the Minecraft devs this long to make an updated version to run natively on the PS5. (The main rumour was that Sony were refusing to send the Minecraft devs PS5 dev kits)
However it was confirmed that the PS5 native version is currently coming. 3 months ago back in preview 1.21.10 .24 or June 20th of 2024. It is currently in beta if you have PS5 preview version let me know 😁
28:48 I actually remember at the time what was happening. The marketplace was basically a MUST for Microsoft. And when PlayStation wasn’t on board with the idea that someone could purchase mine coins on a different device like an Xbox, and then use them on the PlayStation, Microsoft decided not to port bedrock edition there until they could have the marketplace. PlayStation essentially told them they wouldn’t allow it. The reason the ps4 legacy edition got the 1.14 update was because the bedrock version wasn’t able to happen due to this fact. In the end they negotiated on ps4 exclusive tokens so that bedrock edition could join PS4.
Dude, the production value of ALL of your videos feel like someone who has hundreds of thousands, not just hundreds. INSANE quality bro, amazing content, and you absolutely have a new subscriber from me!
I was basically raised by the PS3 Edition. I really miss the ability to limit the size of my world in PC Minecraft. It was so nice to really be "finished" with a world and move on to the next adventure. If I could wish for a single feature in Java or Bedrock, it would be this 100%.
I'm very surprised by the number of glitches that haven't made it into this video - I've tested these on WiiU; Certain nametags crash the game. (Older versions only) A piston pushing a button into a door crashes the game. (Works on WiiU, not switch) By killing a named pet by squishing it to death, it's death message will ONLY include it's name. Under certain conditions, you may be launched upwards upon waking up from a bed, nearly high enough to kill. You can glitch out the side of the nether by pushing a boat just right If you swim into a 1 block gap, save and quit. Upon loading, you will be upwarped to the first space with air. 14:13 Using this glitch with a sword and a food item will allow you to break blocks client side, but not server side. This results in other players seeing you phase through blocks you've broke with this method. If you're in survival, you will suffocate inside these blocks. Non-solid blocks do not work, and will be broken on the server side aswell. There's a separate way to clip outside of the minigame area by flicking a lever many times, erasing pistons and blocks. Using an elytra will let you clip down. On older versions only, you used to be able to clip one block down by jumping into the corner of another block just right. There was a spot you could do this in on the old minigame map. (I'm not sure if this was patched in later versions,) You can clip one block down by running under a shulker box and opening it at the same time. And at least 2 facts; you used to be able to type the special § sign and a letter or color to format text. It was removed from the WiiU version as part of patching the nametag crashing glitch. In the Super Mario world, there's a very large area cleared out near spawn underground.
@@ToaderTheToad even if you could get that character back in, the name itself no longer crashes the game, as far as i can remember. This is an interesting idea though!
Thank you for acknowledging the wiiu edition. It was the version i grew up on and in my opinion its the most immersive and the best legacy edition because it came with the mario textures and a built in mic
It also had free online, and while it's offline now Pretendo's trying to revive it The fact that it has an easy-to-find physical copy compared to the 1.12-stuck Switch LCE version that's locked to Switch owners who bought it in the short time before Bedrock arrived on the Switch is very nice too
Man, I'm sure most of us first discovered the game on Legacy Edtition, and I'm glad we did. My most fondest video game memories are on the Wii U edition, and i still play it on a regular basis!
16:25 i am so glad to find out that the minecarts are actaully faster on legacy edition. When I rebuilt the same roller coaster designs I would make on xbox 360 edition on bedrock I thought I was just imagining things when I noticed the speed difference
The audio had some issues/inconsistencies and could use some work in some places, despite that, great video! It was really entertaining and I enjoyed how nostalgic it got me :D
if you play any minigame and you're currently on a round of it, you CAN switch skins during a round first; log in with another controller while you're on the lobby. this will make it easier and faster to do this then; wait until the game starts. press the menu button (OPTIONS, START, or ≡) on player 1 and go to where the "Change Skin" button should be (go to settings) after that, make player 2 leave the game and the button will be there for player 1. i don't know if you can get player 2 to change skins, reply to this comment if you know
one fun glitch was that if you aimed towards the ground with the elytra in creative and pressed the jump button to fly upward, you would hit the upper world limit if you double tapped the button to go into creative mode flying, it would clip you through the barrier and let you fly infinitely up wherever you want items would also freeze in place if dropped
As I watch this video, I think about the good times I spent with my brother but as life goes on things change, he plays GTA, but I still love to play Java and XB1 Legacy edition. I will always have a spot for these games in my heart. Also, I am playing this version right now on my 4 year old world and I'm going to try to make it 5.
Aye I remember when I was a little and played on ps3 edition and when I switched to java I didn't understand why the cat music was shorter than it used to be xD
0:10 By the way: The statistics only show how often the word “Minecraft” is googled, not the actual number of active players. That number is currently over 4 times as high as it was in 2016 :D So nothing with “Minecraft is dying” like you see in clickbait videos everywhere
HE HAS THE GLITCH SKIN(the bugged skin in the skin selector in the Xbox 360 legacy console edition version 13.1, I only tested it on the Xbox 360 though)
15:49 this splash is, in fact, not exclusive to legacy console edition, and has existed since alpha v1.0.13 of java edition according to the minecraft wiki.
I love the fact that you can enchant anything in LCE! I always "used to" enchant a diamond block with sharpness 😂. I don't know how I can implement that feature in "recontinued console edition" as it has more bugrock features than Java and normal Console edition (note: If you are confused about what I'm talking about, this is a project that I am making [not to the public] of LCE. I have posted a video of me playing it on my Console with the ported files from Tack's computer.)
This may have been changed, but when PvP was first a thing on 360, the lava / Nether map whose name I've long forgotten could be cheesed by using the starting invincibility to swim across the lava onto the outer bedrock ring. You could just chill there behind falling lava and probably get at least second place if not win.
Minecraft PS4 edition actually got updated to 1.14 and no one believes me PROOF: stonecutter, cartography table, fletching table, grindstone, smithing table, blast furnace, smoker, new village structures, new villager textures, and pillagers.
One of the goofiest bugs I found in legacy was when random blocks like pressure plates would occasionally turn to granite in the minigame hub, so I couldn't actually get in the buildings.
not sure if this works for ps4 but works on 1.13 updates if you get the water block and put in the nether right next to the portal and you swim while entering the portal you will get the swim animation glitch. How you know you did it is after doing the steps i just said every time you sprint you get for a second the swim animation you can use this to troll your friends because in their screen it will have the freeze swim animation from when you entered the portal in the nether. Hope this helps
I remember when I was a kid on multiplayer on ps3 there was this corner or place in the lobby where you could get outside the map and everyone would surround it and try to glitch out the lobby, I think it was just empty void outside it or it was just us smushed inside blocked but it was cool. I miss it sm
Other fact: you can obtain barrier blocks going into creative mode in the newest tutorial (from 1.13) and going into the magma cube statue, when you get there you have to use the copy item button into the barrier blocks that protects the lava from going out.
I remember back in 2011-12 when a friend of a friend showed me the furnace dupe glitch on the 360, and I did exactly what you’d think a 10-11 year old would do with infinite gold and diamonds (build giant square houses with them)
Fun fact on Minecraft Wii U Edition (idk if it works on the on the others) but in one of the older updates (2018ish) if you looked in 3rd person with ur POV going through a sign that was on a wall, then you'd be able to look through it and see everything through the walls. I used this for my hide and seek maps before it was patched :)
I remember on the 360, zombie pigmen would go after you when you punch them even in creative mode, so I’d spawn a ton of pigmen, anger them, give them all invisibility (their swords were still visible), set the gamemode to survival and hand the controller to a sibling.
Still remember a glitch i did in ps3 minecraft where you would drop a oak log right as you opened the crafting table. And the game would still let you make planks before you picked up the log.
I miss the good old days. I will always miss playing with my cousins, building dirt houses, getting full diamond armor in creative mode and avoiding "giant walking squids" that were actually endermen, but we were too afraid to find out. Everything was so new and unknown, the adrenaline of discovering new features, glitches, structures, and monsters is something that will never come back. I only feared Herobrine back then. Now all I fear is never being able to turn my old Xbox on, grab a controller, and get back to that world filled with memories I made with my friends just one more time.
There's a glitch in the ps4 version that lets you get creative items in survival. Basically you turn on auto save in a survival world, look at a chest and leave. Then load the world in creative and, without moving, put any creative items you want into the chest (you've got about 30 seconds or it doesn't work properly). Then hold the ps button and click the close application button. When you load the game back up, the world will still be in survival, but the items you put in the chest will still be there. Sometimes it doesn't work, not sure why, but it's an easy way to get some of the harder trophies!
A cool and funny glitch to bypass the villager number limit is pretty easy, just constantly cure zombie villagers and you will have more villagers than the limit would usually allow. It gets very laggy after a while lol.
9:35 This is an awesome fact and I love this glitch, but you don't actually have to save the game, you just have to bring up the save confirmation prompt, decline, and repeat (at least on the two 1.13 versions I've tested, Vita and Wii U)
Bonus fact: in PS3 version In the game files there are the textures of the command blocks, block structure and block barrier, and it is possible to see the textures in a corrupted world, I only managed to do it once, but imagine a giant fresco and glitcher containing all the textures of the game, that's how I discovered it. therefore implying that all the block textures are present in a single file
Cat was my favorite disc playing as a kid on xbox 350. my worlds on xbox 360 are still there and i wish people woould analyze them lol. i build so much and never had more fun then there.
You can glitch through the tutorial worlds border in the ps4 (i think) and the Xbox one version by walking up to the border, and spamming the inventory button
Dude its crazy how i played this game's minigames for so long i know the hub like the palm of my hand... turn out i dont, i didnt know about the water secion in that side of the pillar, 6 years later i just found out
dinnerbone used to work on players iirc. i remember doing it on the disc version of 360. it made your hitbox a little broken which is probably why they removed it
I actually never got to update past the disc update because my Xbox 360 never connected to Xbox Live (it's a slim though so it still has the Metro dashboard) My first experience with 1.13 LCE Minecraft was the Wii U Edition
In my and my friend's ps3 creative world we were building our town and had a school in there. We would call it haunted because the doors would randomly open up in classrooms. We also blew up one building one time and a enchanting table broke leaving it's book levitating in air without animation closed up.
12:02 I was once messing with a mod that allowed me to fly in survival mode, and apparently that just happened as well So maybe it’s not just a Legacy Console version thing, but also something fundamental with flying in survival mode Edit: didn’t watch the full clip before commenting lmao
theres a xbox 360 glich you missed with boats if they are dropped from one block on to path blocks the longer you go forword the faster it will go untill your chunks stop loading
My Xbox 360 died time ago, i played a lot of games there but minecraft was my favorite, i played so much times, even played whit friends and go to survival just to die and make a creative mode, those were beutiful memories, this minecraft version was part of my childhood and will never be forgotten. Press F to pay respects.
I actually had no clue they the legacy console editions ended on different updates, I just kind of figured they all stopped on 1.13 since I've only played the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions. Maybe I'll try and find a physical copy of the PS4 version someday.

Not only that, at the time Sony wasn't a fan of cross play in general
Dude, the production value of ALL of your videos feel like someone who has hundreds of thousands, not just hundreds. INSANE quality bro, amazing content, and you absolutely have a new subscriber from me!
my right ear sure enjoys your voice

It's a good thing I have my headphones always set to Mono, then, I guess
I was basically raised by the PS3 Edition. I really miss the ability to limit the size of my world in PC Minecraft. It was so nice to really be "finished" with a world and move on to the next adventure. If I could wish for a single feature in Java or Bedrock, it would be this 100%.
How do small channels like this make such long videos - especially with little to no recognition?
Great video, I enjoyed the nostalgia
I'm very surprised by the number of glitches that haven't made it into this video - I've tested these on WiiU;
Certain nametags crash the game. (Older versions only)
A piston pushing a button into a door crashes the game. (Works on WiiU, not switch)
By killing a named pet by squishing it to death, it's death message will ONLY include it's name.
Under certain conditions, you may be launched upwards upon waking up from a bed, nearly high enough to kill.
You can glitch out the side of the nether by pushing a boat just right
If you swim into a 1 block gap, save and quit.
I wonder if the § glitch still works if you plug in a compatible USB keyboard?
@@ToaderTheToad even if you could get that character back in, the name itself no longer crashes the game, as far as i can remember. This is an interesting idea though!
@@MelloBoo44 Does the formatting part of the § sign still function in later versions?
@@ToaderTheToad I believe it does, but I have no way to test, I tried Cemu but it doesnt let you paste the symbol
i may be late but what is squishing in this context, like anvils or crowding?
I'm so glad people are still making content on this masterpiece.
Ignore the pfp
That’s impossible
Thank you for acknowledging the wiiu edition. It was the version i grew up on and in my opinion its the most immersive and the best legacy edition because it came with the mario textures and a built in mic
It also had free online, and while it's offline now Pretendo's trying to revive it
The fact that it has an easy-to-find physical copy compared to the 1.12-stuck Switch LCE version that's locked to Switch owners who bought it in the short time before Bedrock arrived on the Switch is very nice too
ToaderTheToad I have physical Wii U edition
I think you're the best UA-camr who's under 1K subscribers!
Man, I'm sure most of us first discovered the game on Legacy Edtition, and I'm glad we did. My most fondest video game memories are on the Wii U edition, and i still play it on a regular basis!
16:25 i am so glad to find out that the minecarts are actaully faster on legacy edition.
When I rebuilt the same roller coaster designs I would make on xbox 360 edition on bedrock I thought I was just imagining things when I noticed the speed difference
amazing video! i miss the legacy edition so much, so this brings me back, with glitches and facts i didnt know about!!
I remember that you could make a weakness potion so strong that whoever got hit by it could do literally no damage.
The audio had some issues/inconsistencies and could use some work in some places, despite that, great video! It was really entertaining and I enjoyed how nostalgic it got me :D
in #37, you can hold the touchpad on the controller to dupe faster, as it works like the X button
that's pratically 2 X buttons
if you play any minigame and you're currently on a round of it, you CAN switch skins during a round
first; log in with another controller while you're on the lobby. this will make it easier and faster to do this
then; wait until the game starts. press the menu button (OPTIONS, START, or ≡) on player 1 and go to where the "Change Skin" button should be (go to settings)
after that, make player 2 leave the game and the button will be there for player 1.
i don't know if you can get player 2 to change skins, reply to this comment if you know
nice video! thanks for making the chapters, it helps a lot.
one fun glitch was that if you aimed towards the ground with the elytra in creative and pressed the jump button to fly upward, you would hit the upper world limit
if you double tapped the button to go into creative mode flying, it would clip you through the barrier and let you fly infinitely up wherever you want
items would also freeze in place if dropped
As I watch this video, I think about the good times I spent with my brother but as life goes on things change, he plays GTA, but I still love to play Java and XB1 Legacy edition. I will always have a spot for these games in my heart. Also, I am playing this version right now on my 4 year old world and I'm going to try to make it 5.
Aye I remember when I was a little and played on ps3 edition and when I switched to java I didn't understand why the cat music was shorter than it used to be xD
15:49 - not entirely true, this text can also be found in version 1.12.2 on java
I was about to say that-
0:10 By the way: The statistics only show how often the word “Minecraft” is googled, not the actual number of active players. That number is currently over 4 times as high as it was in 2016 :D
So nothing with “Minecraft is dying” like you see in clickbait videos everywhere
Very nostalgic! Underrated UA-camr!
Definitely an underrated channel, noice video
Yea bro
I love the fact that you can enchant anything in LCE! I always "used to" enchant a diamond block with sharpness 😂. I don't know how I can implement that feature in "recontinued console edition" as it has more bugrock features than Java and normal Console edition (note: If you are confused about what I'm talking about, this is a project that I am making [not to the public] of LCE. I have posted a video of me playing it on my Console with the ported files from Tack's computer.)
Not sorry Tack 🙂
@@Bluetic_>:(
This may have been changed, but when PvP was first a thing on 360, the lava / Nether map whose name I've long forgotten could be cheesed by using the starting invincibility to swim across the lava onto the outer bedrock ring. You could just chill there behind falling lava and probably get at least second place if not win.
I think you didn't know about this, but due to it using java pvp (1.8.9), w tapping still exists, and increases the kb by a ton
Crazy to see all this update aquatic stuff on legacy, i played on Xbox One Edition and the last update i got was 1.12, lucky bastards
THE OLD CRAFTING!!! I WANT THEM TO MAKE IT AN OPTION TO BRING IT BACKKKK 😭😭😭
Minecraft PS4 edition actually got updated to 1.14 and no one believes me
PROOF: stonecutter, cartography table, fletching table, grindstone, smithing table, blast furnace, smoker, new village structures, new villager textures, and pillagers.
Love the dedication to your YT channel, keep it up man!
you reminded me that i have this version on xbox 1 and i played some of the minigames and explored old worlds.
18:03 bro it's so weird like the physics just feel floaty for a few seconds lol
People always forget about Minecraft 3ds edition, I still play it all the time. Great video ^^
Dude this video was great, you kept my attention the entire time, even at the mob render distance part😭 Keep the videos coming bro
This is a great video ! I knew some of these but didn’t realise just how many there were
Other fact: you can obtain barrier blocks going into creative mode in the newest tutorial (from 1.13) and going into the magma cube statue, when you get there you have to use the copy item button into the barrier blocks that protects the lava from going out.
1:13 I think it was added in 1.15 not in 1.14. Minecraft PS4 Edition does NOT have 1.15 update
Great job with making chapters and the video in genenral!
I remember back in 2011-12 when a friend of a friend showed me the furnace dupe glitch on the 360, and I did exactly what you’d think a 10-11 year old would do with infinite gold and diamonds (build giant square houses with them)
I remember i discovered a dupe glitch in legacy edition where it involved saves, a ender portal and chests. Miss the good ol times
Truly a nostalgic and beautiful video
I missed console editions.... I really wish if tutorial worlds are back....
I wish there was a way we could choose between the different update tutorial worlds, they were all great
A cool and funny glitch to bypass the villager number limit is pretty easy, just constantly cure zombie villagers and you will have more villagers than the limit would usually allow. It gets very laggy after a while lol.
great video, made me very nostalgic for playing Minecraft mini games on PS4 with my cousins
You deserve a sub and like, god i miss 2013 minecraft 360 days
Furnace Minecraft was added before powered rails in Java I think. So they had a real use for a little bit
glad I found this video, thanks to the youtube algorithm, nostalgia hits
Cat was my favorite disc playing as a kid on xbox 350. my worlds on xbox 360 are still there and i wish people woould analyze them lol. i build so much and never had more fun then there.
12:02 it's like this on java too. if u enable creative flight hacks or have a plugin enable flight you can sprint under or at 3 hunger too
I remember trying to find shortcuts in glide and also escape the lobby. Was a lot of fun
the fact that cat is "extended" is wild because thats what i thought the song just was
You can glitch through the tutorial worlds border in the ps4 (i think) and the Xbox one version by walking up to the border, and spamming the inventory button
Dude its crazy how i played this game's minigames for so long i know the hub like the palm of my hand... turn out i dont, i didnt know about the water secion in that side of the pillar, 6 years later i just found out
dinnerbone used to work on players iirc. i remember doing it on the disc version of 360.
it made your hitbox a little broken which is probably why they removed it
I actually never got to update past the disc update because my Xbox 360 never connected to Xbox Live (it's a slim though so it still has the Metro dashboard)
My first experience with 1.13 LCE Minecraft was the Wii U Edition
In my and my friend's ps3 creative world we were building our town and had a school in there. We would call it haunted because the doors would randomly open up in classrooms. We also blew up one building one time and a enchanting table broke leaving it's book levitating in air without animation closed up.
12:02 I was once messing with a mod that allowed me to fly in survival mode, and apparently that just happened as well
So maybe it’s not just a Legacy Console version thing, but also something fundamental with flying in survival mode
Edit: didn’t watch the full clip before commenting lmao
Mods that enable survival flight in 1.12.2 Java Edition also share this behavior, so it seems it's a directly ported line of logic.
@@Something_Disgusting I think it’s mainly to allow the player to always be able to fly fast
theres a xbox 360 glich you missed with boats if they are dropped from one block on to path blocks the longer you go forword the faster it will go untill your chunks stop loading
The 41st fact works for every version if you jumped and glided with an elytra while going under a block. I remember doing it often back in the day
Camman would be happy to know that minecarts are fast on legacy console
My Xbox 360 died time ago, i played a lot of games there but minecraft was my favorite, i played so much times, even played whit friends and go to survival just to die and make a creative mode, those were beutiful memories, this minecraft version was part of my childhood and will never be forgotten. Press F to pay respects.
The loot chest duplication glitch actually also works on Xbox One Edition, which is still on 1.12
This is actually the best version of Minecraft
I used to use that X-ray glitch with the water so much and was devastated when they removed it with bedrock
I actually had no clue they the legacy console editions ended on different updates, I just kind of figured they all stopped on 1.13 since I've only played the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions. Maybe I'll try and find a physical copy of the PS4 version someday.
