FUN FACT: if u have a old minecraft disc that still has "Minecraft: (console name) edition" like PS4 edition then it will let u use a older version of minecraft, but it has to be way before the aqautic update
bedrock is still good it just has a lot of bugs. its still playable though, I’ve played it for over 6 years and haven’t seen any of those “gamebreaking” bugs
@@boomblok_ Nah Legacy Console was just built different, so well optimized, so simple, and just nostalgic. Minecraft Bedrock doesn't feel smooth, doesn't look smooth, laggy movement of other players, it's just not as good.
@@tristanlyman Similar story, my mom used to say that I could only have one world on minecraft java to save space. Well, I had a world that was created, maybe in 2015, and I did SO MUCH in it. I deleted it in 2019, partially on accident, partially because I thought to generate a mansion I had to make a new world. But I'm so thankful for me being on java edition specifically, because in 2022, when I was cleaning stuff off of that computer, I checked the backups folder and found one. Turns out, the game updated to version 1.14 the last week I played on it, and it made a backup of the world! Sorry that you didn't have the same luck.

If you download specifically the "Re-Console" modpack (which includes Legacy4J as a mod among many other things), it'll include all the older tutorial worlds as well - plus you can change the worldgen back to the "Console Beta" style for normal world generation, which is a feature I absolutely love.
Its literally the most perfect mod ever made. I only wish they added a search for creative, and more mod compatibility with stuff like Cobblemon sophisticated backpacks iron chests. But it has so much quality of life stuff that console had that java doesnt, that it should It changes so many little things that make it perfect though i couldnt begin to describe
This mod really just puts a huge smile on my face lol I can't wait to see the skin menu to be added, its hard to explain but that was such a cool feature that I find really nostalgic lol 🤷

I play this modpack on my Steam Deck a lot with a custom menu title and panorama so it's as if 4J kept making legacy editions and made an official Steam Deck edition. It feels legit on controller. It's a perfect mix of nostalgia while also playing with the new features. For me it's the ideal way to play Minecraft now. The nostalgia reels me in and keeps me engaged in the new features of the game, which in turn makes me engaged in said new features. Hell, there's an add on to the mod, part of the modpack that adds the skin menu and there's a resource pack which adds nearly every legacy skin pack in, including things like the star wars ones, simpsons, battle and beasts and even the xbox and playstation exclusive variants of the birthday packs
I remember how in the tutorial world on the actual console you could weirdly bug the chests out if you did not complete the tutorial for them, so you could take the stuff out and then they would respawn inside of the chest :D
I have the legacy copy, I’m able to go back to the older version but am scared that I would not be able to go back, so I haven’t gone back to the legacy version. I used to play mini games with my cousin all the time when he came over, and we would play for hours on end before he had to leave. So glad that this mod exists so I can relive those memories.
I would love to see a split version of this mod that has each bit of the Legacy Console feel (worldgen, UI, sounds, etc) I would LOVE to use the Legacy Console UI, especially if it was possible to make it compatible with other crafting interfaces

remember playing on my ps3 with a friend, i built a emerald house and tried to play it off as it was real, built a working printer on it. so much fun stuff! this is nostalgia

Bro the glide mini game brought back memories I never owned an Xbox or PlayStation but my neighbor did we were 5-7 and during winter break me and my brother would go over and play multiplayer on his Xbox one this is back in 2015-2017 and playing the online game of people in a circle chest in the middle and once it’s starts we would jump down and try getting loot and then dipping cause we were to scared to fight. It just hits hard dude and it was the original version of Minecraft console like Xbox one Minecraft not bedrock
Me and my little brother when the this new tutorial world came out, We made sure to try and find every mob statue. Years later I think we were missing like 2 but this mod will let us explore again on our pcs, thanks for showcasing this! The nostalgia is crazy
It’s been seven years since I’ve played Legacy Edition at all, I have my PS3 but I still have YLoD, I’m going to bring it in early November to finally after so long fix it. I missed Legacy edition so much and especially playing the Battle mode or any mini game there was. Thanks man I got my hopes up I put an extra few hours of work in to get the extra cash to pay towards fixing it and maybe more storage.
Oh also something useful, the gamma on old consoles is way higher than Java, so if you turn gamma up to like 90 in the settings it completely sells the legacy console feel.
i love this, i remember playing xbox 360 mc with my dad, the tutorial world was so much fun, i remember hunting for the portal, and all the musics discs. i even remember a faint easter egg "your princess is in another castle" i also remember telling him to punch a wolve with a stick as it will drop tons of loot! ( he got mauled)

I wish times were still that simple. i think I need this mod for my current online world with my boys right now, currently in highschool. This does have some of the missing aspects, but the majority is there. I wish I could go back to that ps3.

This is the best Mod i have ever played and one of the best ever made.(May be a hottake but i can explain) This Mod Combines the Legacy Style aswell as its Mechanics (old crafting recipes and Worldgeneration) and mixes those with the new stuff of minecraft such as Ancient City, Nether Update and so on(they even made new Legacy looking textures for new Blocks and Items). And there is also the fact that you play it on Java and there for having smooth gameplay aswell. Its truly the PERFECT Mix of Legacy and Modern Minecraft. Edit: Its always amazing that the Minecraft Moding Community can create such Work of Art!

Playing on java edition, I didn't exactly have a tutorial world there, but I did have Inspiration Island on pocket edition in 2019, and it taught me a lot about the game. Revisiting it on bedrock (please someone make a java port) was really nostalgic.

There’s an addon called console aspect that adds basically most of the things in legacy to bedrock, actually good addon that you could use. To play it on console just get realms and add the mod from your phone or desktop

If Legacy 4J was as optimised as Console Edition was then "Bedrock if it was good" would be the perfect description for it!
This mod is actually very accurate. The graphics are accurate as well, with the fog and the gamma being to the point. Very cool.

if you go to video settings and go to gamma and turn it al the way up, you can fully experience the console edition

Downloaded the mod right after watching the vid, and have been playing for about 2.5 hours, dont think Ive had that much fun playing MC in a while.
