Sasha is a staple in german popmusic. And while I never listened to his music, it is so hard to dislike him. Unlike lots of popsingers he is ... just damn nice, has lots of humour and self irony galore. Not going to buy his CDs, but glad we have him
yeah, for a long time he was called der Traum jeder Schwiegermutter - "the dream of every mother in law", because he is such a nice guy.
We have one of those singers over here in the Netherlands aswell. A dutch folk singer named "frans Bauer", although i kinda want to hate it there is something about his music specially with a few drinks is just fun. And the guy himself is simply amazing, he is probably one of the most normal over the top friendly good guy celebirtys. His face should be in dictionary under "friendly good guy" and he makes fun of himself. (specially love a commerical he did, of him dreaming of USA succes with his most famous song translated in english which makes it even worse)
Yeah, he's simply fun and not arrogant whatsoever. Another great thing to check out from him would be "Kaufmann und Maid", a medieval folk-rock song that started as a joke and ended up being a really great German all-star project. :-D

yeah, many German bands teamed up during the pandemic.
There was a TV show gag including Sascha about (or against) the medival rock scene..
In the end, many German medival bands completed the gag song and got Sascha as lead singer of that song parodying themselves with Saltatio Mortis involved too.
It was thought as a joke but the outcome was awesome. They all took themselfes not to serious and the production of the song was amazing in the end.

I'm not really into Pop music but I really like Sasha. He's a very good rock singer, too and very nice and funny.
Check out his song with Saltatio Mortis and other great medieval german bands. The song came up in a Late Night Show as a gag, but everybody loved it, so they did a whole song out of it. It's very entertaining. It's called "Kaufmann und Maid"! 👌

I don't know if there are some with english translation 🤷♀️ in this show Klaas (the host) and Sasha pretend to test new music styles of sasha to some people from market research (I hope that's the right word for it 😅). All songs from all styles are really silly with funny lyrics!

Your German gets better every time. As always, I just have to laugh with you when I see your videos. I never thought that this whole Hypa cover thing would be so incredibly good. I can't remember anything similar from another band and I don't think that EC just do it for the money, it's just a lot of fun and experimentation. And for the cover artists there is certainly a chance to find new fans. Hypa Hypa is slowly becoming a really big and famous thing. And every version immediately puts me in a good mood, the question remains, is there a life after Hypa Hypa.

You are right, Sascha is a german Popsinger. But he also had a Rockabilly project named: Dick Brave and the Backbeats, a couple of years ago 😉
During lockdown, the Eskimos uploaded Tik-Toks with versions of Hypa Hypa. People begged them in the comments to do it full versions and they came up with MMXX -Hyppa Hyppa Edition-
Sasha is genuinely national treasure, at least in my eyes. And he's a perfect fit for EC. He's experimented so much, and despite his success it never felt like he was being hyped or just kept in the hype just for his fame. He's one of the coolest and in my eyes most talented German artists, yet so incredibly humble. I'd say he's the German Rick Astley.
The only issue I have with this song is the snare being too quiet. but that's about it.

This version is so chill. The original gets you fired up within seconds, the Saltatio Mortis one keeps you energized, and this one relaxes you. Can't wait to ask the DJ for one of these versions at the next corporate parties (if we have any in the future).

Sasha loves to do "stupid" stuff (pranks, sketches, etc.). I saw that somebody else already suggested "Kaufmann & Maid" he did with Saltatio Mortis and a bunch of others. It's in German, but I think you would enjoy it. 😁
Again: first time I've heard this version. Sasha is maybe the only pop singer I like. Mostly he seems to have a lot of humor. His Dick Brave project, was hilarious, because people actually weren't 100% sure for some time if this country singer with the American accent was Sasha or not. He never broke character in interviews, etc.😂

Sasha is a funny fucking dude. For his Band "Dick Brave and the backbeats" he pretented to be a Canadian (I think) Rockabilly artist, decent music aswell. Great fun.
I loved his moment on "the bully parade" where he and Winitouch try to sing a song and they keep messing it up.
Yeah, saw them live years ago. Before he played his version of Complicated he told the story of how Avril Lavigne came to cover his song. „She came to me and said Song, I like your Dick, erm, Dick, I like your Song…“. And he explained how as a Canadian he was amazed by the German „schunkeling“ (swaying) so he wrote a „schunkeling song“ (I don‘t remember what song the covered, though). Amazing live band and all around nice guy :-)

Sasha was singer of a doo wop Band called "Dick Brave and the Backbeats". He had a fictional background there pretending to be from Canada. They even sang at Pink's first Wedding.
Powerwolf also has a full album with covers of their songs by other bands on the "Demons are a girls best friend" Album
And those are great covers as well. Bands like Epica, Saltatio Mortis, Heaven Shall Burn, Eluveitie, Amaranthe and even Mille from Kreator contributed to it. I saw them live with Kissin' Dynamite (who did a cover for Let there be Night) opening for them and their vocalist Hannes returned in full body paint to sing that song with them. Still have goosebumps just thinking about it.
This is going to be a fun journey, already looking forward to next version with a smile on my face! 😅🤘🏻

Again man, so great to see you checking this stuff out and obviously enjoy it :D Eskimo Callboy always sood for fun, and since i know them since there early beginnings, i can honestly say, they are really having so much fun since Nico joined them, Hypa Hypa put them on another international level, and to me they are one more time the absolute proofe, that metal is fun, metal bands and fans are very humorfull people and man, its just awesome.
