Sasha did a song together with Saltatio Mortis and other great medieval Bands. It's actually a fun song which came up as a gag in a german Late Night Show. But everybody loved it so they did a whole song. It's called "Kaufmann und Maid" and it's super entertaining 😁👌

Loved it! lets call it a guilty pleasure. And Sasha's voice is amazing.
There will be even more different versions, as part of an EP. Not sure how many of them will get music videos, but there will be versions by "We Butter The Bread With Butter", "BossHoss" & "257ers" which have potential to be pretty good.
We’ll watch them all!
Fun Fact: There's also a Collab with Sasha & Saltatio Mortis called "Kaufmann & Maid". Just FYI ;)
(And of course there are more Bands in the Kaufmann & Maid but I just wanted to mention those 2 since they're currently know due to Hypa Hypa)
These mullets were kind of popular in the 80s in Germany and Netherlands. Esp. popular within the Opel Manta drivers communities. These Drivers called "Mantafahrer" were widely seen as highly unsocial and rude (both - driving and communication/behavior). But also popular German Natinal Soccer (We call that football) Player Rudi Völler wore this. Google "Rudi Völler bei der WM 1990" and tell me he doesn't look exactly like Nico XD Also popular within these car communities was Rave Music like the Band Scooter which had a huge Hit with "Hyper Hyper". So you know where the reference is coming from. The comedy format/group "New Kids" makes fun of this scene. Scooter even has a "remake"/Remix of one of their song with New Kids.
Mullets are called Vokuhila in Germany. It is short for " VOrne KUrz HInten LAng " (Front short Back long)
i have to say the Sasha version is the version i was the least "hyped" for. it is not that it is a bad song, but pop music is just not my cup of tea. Im just and old metalhead. But they did an awesome job and it is astonishing what escimo callboy is capable off. They are just great musicans and can do anything. and thats something i highly respect. So i enjoyed the song, enjoyed your video, keep up your good and entertaining work! hope i see the both of you soon reactiong to all the hypa hypa verisons! :)

just some Information about "Sasha"
Sasha is a German Pop singer he was very popular in the 90's BUT(T)
also beside his pop career he has Rockabilly Project as "Dick Brave and the Backbeats"
so he is very famous here in Germany ^^
That project included him acting like he was a Canadian all the time without ever acknowledging he was Sasha in character.
Did it basically for one album because he had burnout from working in the music industry and wanted to do something he loved.
He had a comeback some years ago for a second album that involved a famous German TV host shooting a "documentary" about looking for him after a plane crash when everyone considered him dead and found him basically in a "Misery" situation held hostage by a fan.
The music they did was awesome, btw! Their version of "No One Knows" by Queens of the Stone Age was amazing. The name is a play on Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds btw.
I like there sence of Humor. Can t wait for the other ver. of Hypa Hypa. Gz from Ger ;)
Sasha is a german pop singer who runs a rockabilly side project as well, it is called Dick Brave and the Backbeats. His ex girlfriend is the lead singer of the german alternativmetal band Die Happy, he appeared in at least one of their videos, it was Texas Chainsaw Massacre themed video and he played the role of Leatherface-ish character

Not as powerful as the original but it's a great listen. Fun video, catchy tune and awesome voices. If the original is a 8/10 for me, this is a solid 7/10

Sasha been a known artist in Germany for like 30 years now. Very poppy. But under the name Dick Brave & The Backbeats he did some Rockabilly song covers which are worth a listen.
I love all versions of the song. Cause Kevin and Niko are not afraid to fool around in them. And this classical rollerblades disco fits the style perfectly
Allthough it's not my kind of music I have to say that Sasha is an awesome good musician.

I appriciate the honesty, and though I did like it better than the Saltatio Mortis version to me it still isn't something I need to re-listen to. The idea behind this might be somewhat great, but so far I'm underwhelmed when it comes to execution of the two new versions I've heard. Maybe the upcoming versions will catch my more.

I agree with mat. Fun video, sasha is a good singer, but it's a boring song.
Well, boring is a rather subjective thing, isn't it? For others it might be a coming radio hit. But I agree to a certain degree - it's a little too pleasant to Average Joes and thus lacking surprises the original and the Saltatio Mortis version somehow both had going for them.
