- Range report, 600 yard competition pictures and setup details of my HMR Pro.....and a bit of Murph
Congrats on being 2nd place your first time around. I have the same rifle in 300prc and the same scope. And like you, I’m 100% happy with it.
I ordered the same rifle and should have it any day now. I ordered the Vortex Razor HD LHT 4.5-22x50 to go on it and an Atlas bipod. Unfortunately we have a winter storm now that's delaying the delivery time. This is worse than a little kid waiting for Christmas morning...
Good stuff. Just ordered mine in 6.5 Creedmoor and get to pick it up next week. Topping it with a Leupold Mark5 HD 5-25x56, Area 419 Hellfire, and MDT Elite rings. Hopefully will start load development first week of Feb. Nice set up.
Excellent story and report.......nice how you did so well on your first match.....congrats!!!
I just bought the HMR in 6.5 Cm yesterday....going to shoot it tomorrow. Very excited.
AirGunner Bob_O thank you 😊 Let me know how you like your HMR! I’m saving my pennies for an HMR in 300 Win mag. Happy shootin!
Aim Pull Bang The rifle is great!! I just put the Hellfire brake on it last week.....now I can see my shots hit steel without backing off the magnification.
The furthest I've grouped it was at 200.....3 shots in 1". I can hit the 6" steel plate at 600 yds 4 shots in a row is my best.
The rifle is super nice!!! I just picked up 200 rnds of American Gunner 140gr to try out. Maybe I'll try a match like you did.
Same, that Hellfire eliminates the muzzle rise it’s awesome! Nice shooting! I hope to take mine out for another 600 yard competition and try for 1000 yards next weekend. Let me know how she likes the American gunner. If it groups close or similar to the ELD I’ll definitely be checking it out
I’m waiting for this follow up video. Nice set up, congratulations.
iscozky thanks for watching! I’ll be sure to take some shooting videos once I get the hang of the video thing
Nice! Just got the BMP model and absolutely love it!
Nice video. My pro also likes the 140 eldm. Amazing rifles!
scott smith thanks! I definitely agree with you. The 140’s were the first round I tried in her and I shot the best groups I’ve ever shot at 100. Can’t complain one bit. Happy shooting!
I like your style and manner. Good video. In case anyone like me with a new Bergara HMR in 308 tunes in my guns favorite ammo is Federal Gold Medal Sierra Matchking 168 grn. Second best for mine is Fusion 150 grn. It didn’t like any Nosler or Hornady types as much.
Thanks Gary, hmm interesting on the ammo. The gun likes what it likes! What glass are you running on your HMR? I’m saving my pennies for a .300 win mag HMR for my next rifle
Aim Pull Bang: I’m using a Vortex Viper HST 4-16x44. It zeroed on 3 shots after removing bolt and bore sighting. Hasn’t moved a hair since then (150 rounds with Vortex precision rings) no regrets. Big difference in ammo. Good Hornady and Nosler get 1.25-1.75 MOA while the Fed and Fusion tighten to .625 consistantly. And I’m a 74 year old with age related macular degeneration.
Nice, I am a big fan of Vortex scopes especially the Viper line! I have an HS 4-15x44 on my Browning and I love it. I wish you good health and happy shooting sir.
Dude thats awesome, thinking about grabbing this gun. Thx.
I feel the urge. I have shot skeet for 40 years. A shoulder injury ended that. I have ordered Browning XBolt Target 6.5CM with the same scope you have. I have joined a local range also. I am about to blow a gasket to do target shooting.
Hell yea! 6.5 is super nice to shoot. Very minimal recoil. Hope you get some enjoyment out of your new setup. No complaints at all on the PST. Happy shootin!
Excellent for factory ammo for sure!
I can’t complain!
murph is awesome
Thanks he’s gotta be in every vid 😆
Nice work
Thanks buddy
We are literally walking in the same footprints a year and a half apart. Both PNW shooters, my first precision rifle sighting-in at Renton, 600 yard match at TSC 12/15/19 .95 MOA group. I like to pick your brain about the journey and maybe shoot together. Keep in touch..
That’s awesome and definitely! I’ve put a new optic on this rifle since I took the vid and haven’t stretched its legs yet.
PNW Sportsman - Merry Christmas!
I’m running a SWFA 3x15 that I already had on hand but I’m in the market for a upgrade. I’ve narrowed it down to about 5 scopes ranging between the Vortex Razor 4.5x27 to IOR Valdada or S&B. I’m on a budget and good scopes are pricey so I want to make the right decision the first time, that’s why learning of your journey and decision making will be valuable. Text (253)381-8003
I see the Seahawks sweats as well as pnw. You out of Washington as well?
Should do 5 shot groups! That will show what it can do.
I’ll do some 5 shot groups thanks for watching
agreed
Nice videos, I sub’d, and Murf is cool
Thanks for watching glad you like them! Murph says thanks 👊
what Height rings did you use.
Thank you
What height of Seekins rings did you use?? I'm hoping to pick up a used HMR Pro with the Area 419 rail and didn't know if medium or tall rings were needed. Thanks!
Caleb Melton these are Seekins- Low - I believe they are .82 and they’re perfect for the setup with the Area 419 20 MOA rail. Thanks for watching!
Aim Pull Bang Awesome Thanks!
Just order one but is a Bergara ridge sp 6.5 creedmoor 18" barrel. I hope it shoots as good as yours did.
Congrats! Definitely try the ELD-M and ELD-X from Hornady. Mine loves them
I just picked up one of these rifles in .308 and they are really nice. Curious what height rings you went with? I've got a 20moa rail on order right now but haven't got any rings. I've got the same scope for mine as well.
Bradney Chitwood I went with the Seekins Low- .82- They seat the scope just a mm or 2 above the barrel. Perfect. Congrats on the new freedom spewer!
What made you go with the 20MOA rail? Did this scope give you enough moa turns to be dead on at 100 yds with the 20MOA rail?
Always good to have that extra 20 MOA when shooting distance. Yes, I zeroed this rifle at 100 yards with no issues. Thanks for watching!
How’s it going man! Did you install the area 419 bipod rail yourself? If so did you have to use those tee nuts to install it? Or is it as simple as removing the factory stock swivels and using those hole locations??? I have that exact rifle hence the question. Thanks.
Yes it is a super easy install! Just remove the swivel studs and screw in the included screws- I put a bit of lock tire on it as well.
Hey alright that helps me out big time man! Thank you for the info.
Are you 9er that look like Crabtree in the picture?
Wondering if you noticed any drift once the barrel warmed up. I have been hearing the bergara’s get temperamental it warmed up aka couple rapid shots. Some competitions do crazy shots per time like 5 in 1 min.
I haven’t noticed any change more or less than any other rifles in mine. In my 600 yard comp I didn’t shoot slow either.
What is the group-size in elevation at 600yards? The left-right dispersion is usually just wind-gusts...
Not sure I’ll have to measure it. I’m doing another 600 yard shoot this month so will update
Do they tell you what factory ammo they use on the test target that comes with it
shawn bingham yes they do. All the “premier” models come with a card!
Excellent 👍! I'm seriously considering this same rifle or a Tikka for hunting and playing on the range. How many rounds would you say that you had through the rifle before your competition? Had you practiced at 600 ? I would be ecstatic to get 2 place in my first competition. I have not completed since I was a kid. I used to shoot NRA with my father. Mostly 22 rifle and pistol silhouettes and so 12 gauge skeet shooting. I'd love to get back into it. Thanks
Thanks man- I practiced a little before the competition- not with that rifle though. Furthest I shot it prior to the competition was 200 yards. It’s a tack driver! Probably put a couple hundred rounds through it just target shooting before the competition as well. Hope that answered your question!
@@pnwsportsman4036 Very nice 👍. I hope mine is a " Tack Driver" to.
Is the trigger-weight adjustable?
Hey John, yes it is adjustable
Hey what ht rings do you have on this outfit. Thanks
Seekins Low .82
Seekins .82 low
Did you use a 0 moa rail or 20 moa rail? Thanks!
I use an Area 419 20 MOA rail
Thank you!
What 20 Moa rail was that?
Area 419
I see that this video is about a year old. Any regrets or recommendations?
I needed up putting a Vortex Razor gen 2 5-25 on her. No regrets at all I love this rifle! I’ll do a follow up vid here soon
What height rings are you using? Just got mine and I want to put a 5-50x56 scope on it.
3 shot groups don’t tell enough.
Still have the rifle? About to order one. On the fence
Yessir I do- it sports a Razor 4-27 these days and she still shoots amazing. I say go for it!
Not very good group my 6.5 shoots 1nch at 500
Lol Good shootin, Tex! Thanks for watching!
@@pnwsportsman4036 congrats on your mactch I'm going to do milk jugs challenge in Utah next year 1000..1200...1760...2000
James sammann thanks I hope to do some more! What rifle/scope are you running?
Prove it. I highly doubt your claims. I would love a link for proof.
