    What rail did you go with for mounting the bipod? I’m about to purchase the HMR Pro in .308 and want to put my Atlas BT10 on it but every swivel mount I’ve seen is rounded and the bottom of the rifle is more or less flat.

    A quick question, if I may. This may seem obvious, but I cannot find any confirmation anywhere. Do you just unscrew the 2 swivel mounts? Is the stock already tapped for the swivel mounts, screws? Look forward to more videos!

      Unscrew the swivel screws and I installed a bipod rail in the screw slots. I used an Area 419 rail for it. Mount the bipod to the rail. Thanks for watching!

      Steve Jennings I went with the HMR Pro because I wanted a quality rifle for both target shooting as well as hunting. It’s not light by any means but it’s a hell of a lot easier to carry this then a metal chassis rifle. Will you be hunting as well or dedicated target shooting?

    I debated getting the pro, and kinda wish I would have waited for one. I really like the color of the pro stock and the bolt. I can't complain about the regular HMR though, I'm getting similar results = half to 3/4 MOA. I got the area 419 Bergara upgrade kit that came with that 20MOA rail you got, a bolt knob, Pic rail for the bipod, and the hellfire muzzle brake. Great gun for the money. Highly recommend that muzzle brake if you are wanting one.

      btw, you can get a fluted hmr pro bolt from bergara for 300$ and it drops right in! I for one don't want the stainless barrel nor the gray cerakote. So I opted for the b14 HMR and ordered the bolt. I prefer the steel barrel for the 300 wm for its longer life.

    what is the best accuracy you have squeezed out of the HMR pro to date and what ammo?

    • @pnwsportsman4036
      @pnwsportsman4036  6 років тому

      Halfdollar 86 I get consistent 0.5 MOA and at least 1 or 2 groups at .25 every range trip with Hornady match 140gr! My Bergara loves them

    • @halfdollar86
      @halfdollar86 6 років тому

      Aim Pull Bang nice I have the B14 HMR and going to either sell my HMR or trade it fo the pro. My B14 HMR gets close to that accuracy. Right now I would say it averages .7-.5 Moa and the occasional bughole. I’m torn between either upgrade my scope on my RPR, upgrade to HMR Pro, re stock or chassis for my Savage. All will be done eventually. I’m totally pleased with my Tikka Tac Al.

      I'm still arguing w/bergara /what to do now w/ hmr , that won't group nothing !!! I got a savage grs model 10 ! It drills holes/ 5 shots look like one 1/4 " hole ! Bergara i dont know ??? The more you shoot at one time / the more flyers you start seeing! 2 shots / sometimes not bad/ next 3 for 5 / watch closely ? GRS SAVAGE model 10 , 6.5 !!!

    • @halfdollar86
      @halfdollar86 5 років тому

      Randal Kidd I have had the same experience. I have 2 HMRs, rpr, Tikka Tac a1, Savage 12 and owned all kinds of savages. Out of all of these the the Bergaras are the worst shooters. Seem to have a harmonic issue. This new one is better than the older one. I want the Bergara to be the rifle everyone says it is. The stock is amazing. But the accuracy is not as consistent as my other rifles. It seems you either get one that is great or you get one that sucks.

    • @halfdollar86
      @halfdollar86 5 років тому

      Randal Kidd I think of you took 100 rifles of major manufacturers in the same price range and averaged the results I think savage wins that every time. I have NEVER had a bad shooting Savage. Most a dime sized groups or less. If not I sell it and Savages sell fast. I have never lost money selling a Savage because I buy them when on sell and on rebate.

    What's the comparison to the browning 6.5 hells canyon?

    • @pnwsportsman4036
      @pnwsportsman4036  5 років тому +1

      I’d definitely prefer the hells Canyon for hunting in the mountains. It’s way lighter, shorter barrel, etc but for long range shooting it’s the Bergara for me. I get sub MOA groups from both but sub .5 with the HMR Pro.
      I love both so it depends on the application which one I would grab. The HMR is a heavy beast to lug up a mountain.

    • @fvasque1
      @fvasque1 5 років тому

      Thanks, one last question, is there really a difference from the browning speed to the long range?

    • @pnwsportsman4036
      @pnwsportsman4036  5 років тому

      I believe the hells canyon long range has a 26 inch bull barrel compared to the 20 inch pencil barrel on the hells canyon speed. Is that what you’re asking about or asking about the speed in relation to the HMR pro?

    • @fvasque1
      @fvasque1 5 років тому +1

      Speed in relation to the hmr pro. Im caught between the bergara and browning

    • @pnwsportsman4036
      @pnwsportsman4036  5 років тому +1

      Oh gotcha. Are you going to be doing a lot of hunting or more for Target? They are both very accurate but the HMR Pro is a sub .5 MOA rifle. Definitely noticeable. And it is noticeably heavier.
