I love your video Can you please tell me: 1)Your barrel length? 2)What powder you use and what is the weight of the powder for Berger Hybrid 184 grains?
7mm prc isn't no joke i can shoot 1.5 inch groups at 300 yrds with a factory rifle most accurate cartridge i have ever shot and they are not picky they will shoot almost anything
I have four 7PRCs - love them. I considered a 300PRC but chose to get a modified reamer made by JGS in 300WSM. I followed the Alex Wheeler concept and how he improved the PRCs with a larger body by 0.002 and a bit more freebore. My 300WSMs will need long actions but that's what I wanted. the 300WSM is well known for its accuracy. I've got 180, 190, 210 grain bullets with the heavier bullets being Berger VLDs.
@@onerahtokonmc7703 In my tikka 300WSM I've got loads for 150 TSX over Superformance, 168 TTSX with Staball 6.5, and 180 Accubonds but can't remember what powder. I'd have to check
You should try a 300 WSM with the 230 Atip. I ran H1000 with a full case with an SD-3fps and 2748fps….routinely shot (in no wind) 10 inch groups or better at 1000. Most of the time we just shot clay pigeons with it at that distance.
I picked up a 7 PRC a couple months ago. I’ve only shot it a few times but it’s a sweet cartridge. I’m wondering if I should have gone with the 300 PRC but I’m not sure. I also have a 338 Lapua that I shoot long distance.
Man berger bullets are just good. They seem to be quite a bit more accurate than the hornady or smks etc. Are you able to load up any bergers in the 300 prc and shoot a group?
I have the vortex SE on an rpr 6.5 with a proof barrel, the scope is super viable at 1k. Really like ebr7c reticle. I'm starting a christchensen 300prc build. Do you have any feedback good or bad regarding that action.
Their actions are decent, they have some slack but overall not bad id say. CA barrels are totally different story, the one that came with my MPR fell apart after only 250rds!
How is recoil? I kinda had my heart set on a 7prc to use in a carbon fiber stock for hinting, suppressed, and switch into a chassis for the off-season for long range. I currently shoot a 6.5 creedmoor bolt and 308 gas gun. People have said the 300 prc is more but a softer recoil impulse than the harsher 7prc. Like 45 to 40 or so. What do you think side by side
300prc has definitely way more recoil, i would compare 7prc to shooting a 308 without any muzzle device its very manageable and quite honest its very pleasant unlike the 300. I also shoot both 308 and 6.5cm but they just dont have enough at longer ranges, 66-78gr of powder is obvious compared to 40gr.
My 300 prc I can not notice anymore recoil than my older 300 win mag. It did have pretty good muzzle rise. I put a suppressor on it an it's a baby to shoot. Maybe like a 243 or less now. I shot my 7 prc 6.5lb gun with nothing on it an was harsher than I thought it'd me. It was just bare gun to chrono before shortening the barrel. If your shooting suppressed their both gonna be good guns.
I have not had any luck with the 230gr stops across 4 rifles. I would have loved to see 190gr berger in the 300prc close to what you used in the 7mm. I can't even get the 225 eldm to shoot but they are better in my trials. 200gr hammers
Hi, you are getting velocity of 2950 fp/s with 28" barrel, 184 grains bullet and 66.5 grains of H1000 powder. Can you please tell me: 1) what is the pressure in psi that you are getting? 2)do you think that in 7mm PRC with 26" barrel, Berger 180 grains, 67.5 grains of H1000 powder I would get velocity of 3000 fp/s and would the pressure be to high and what would be the amount? Best regards!
Yep that's my load there, not sure about the exact pressure numbers but looking at some data with similar powder charges it would be around 66k psi. You should be very close to 3k ft/s with 67.5gr.
Useless comparison. 2 different bullet designs, totally 52 gr difference in weight, 2 different velocities, 2 different rifles. Kudos to you for good shooting, that's about the best I can say about wasting my time on this video.
The weight and velocity differences are understandable. They are different calibers and cases. But the bullet difference is what throws off the results. If he had used a 180 ELDM and a 225 ELDM, we’d be looking at a more apples to apples comparison
Amazing video
Wow. 7mm prc is so darn perfect
300prc 1.33 moa group and 0.7 moa for the 7 prc. Nice shooting man !!
Very nice...about to build out a 7mm PRC bench/hunting rig myself...trying to decide what action but loving Bartlein for barrels.
Impact Precision actions = 👌🏻
Nice rigs
I love your video

Thanks 👍

Same experience with my HMR and ridge wilderness rifles in 300prc. One for long range shooting, one for hunting

Ive seen his interview on Cortinas channel he has some good knowledge.
@@Syxtus_outdoors Yes, he's done a great job of improving chambers - something SAAMI should look at and standardize the AW modification.

You should reach out to Texas Plinker with that second grouping! His 1 MOA at 1000 would be attainable with that grouping!
Quite possibly but im in Canada so too far away 👍

I just won my first 7 prc at a sportsman expo here in Utah. Can’t wait to buy a scope for it, any suggestions for scopes
What are you wanting to spend? The Leopold MK5 HD and Nightforce NX8 line of scopes are great!
The 250 gn a tips is more consistent at longer ranges than the 230 a tips in vertical spreadding

I know everyone has there opinions but I run a 300 prc and my grouping at 1000 yrds is constantly at 2.5 inch spread absolutely love this round
There's a reason the released the 7 AFTER the 300. Lol
