- This is an in-depth care guide with the beautiful Philodendron brandtianum with its gorgeous silver foliage. This is a very easy and fast growing philodendron to care for so long as you let them acclimatize to your space. In this video I propagate them many ways (in water and soil), and show you an update on the propagates at the end!

I’m in Michigan, USA. I keep my Brandtianum outdoors in the summer on a covered porch where it thrives, growing roughly 7 large leaves per month. It really slows down during the winter when I have to bring it inside. My suggestion to anyone who has humid summers...put this plant outside. It does best in humid outdoor conditions and this will help it limp along throughout the winter.
Great share! Thank youu
I came to this video because I'm in FL and I have a tiny Brandi that I saved from one leaf. She now has several but it's small. The other plants I put outside do amazing so I was wondering if I should put her out and then I read your comment, she is outside now. Wish me luck! They loooove the humidity here, not me so much but well LOL
The way you care about plants is so beautiful. 🥺❤️ It makes me wish I was one of your plants! People, get you a lover that talks to you like Sean talks to his plants 😆
The information in your videos are timeless and I can gain as much information as I can every time I re-watch it! So precious to have your knowledge and experience sharing on UA-cam!
What a compliment, thank you ❤️
I bought myself one for Valentine’s Day so I’m back to learn about her. Thanks Sean!
Wooo happy valentines day!
You are by far the best informational planter. I am so grateful i met u
🙏🏽🙏🏽
Just got 2 of these yesterday. It wasn't labeled so I was really glad to get home and see that it was what I thought it was. I will be keeping it outside so thanks for the tips. ♥️🌼♥️
I'm inspired to propagate my brandtianum now. A single leaf is so expensive here in the Philippines that i'm afraid to propagate mine thinking it might not survive and just waste my cuttings. 😆 Hoping it will be successful. Thank you for sharing this video. ❤
They are easier to propagate than to acclimatize to the home 😀
Just put my young brandtianum on a pole last week. My first use of a pole ever. I was inspired by your large-leaved outdoor climbing specimen.
Thank you Sean, for always giving such good and easy plantation knowledge. As a greeny lovers it's help a lot
These are my favorites - I love seeing the long term updates!
Your channel is my favorite, so much commitment to make a video of 9 months growth! I also love it when I can see how much a plant grow and how the leaves change its stage from baby plant to a beautiful one
😀
I just recently bought a philodendron brandtianum but I have not received it yet, so this will help me a lot 🙂 all yours are so pretty, you have a really good hand for plants 🌿🪴🌿🪴
You're really spoiling us... such a beautiful plant and now I feel I can tackle it ;) Thanks a lot!
Your P. Brandtianums are looking beautiful Sean, I loved seeing the propagation. 🙌🌿
thanks for sharing this.
Please keep safe wishing the best for you and your people 🙏 May health come fast to all 💚
i enjoy watching..thanks for sharing...God bless..
I love this plant. Have one in Pon and one in soil. Growing well for me
So glad I found your video, the info in this video will be useful for me since I just got my brandtianum 2 days ago.
I just got one for $15 last week. It was in pretty awful soil and it only has maybe 7 nodes. I've been so afraid to propagate. I've been actually using a LOT of your propagation videos.
Please ALWAYS do propagation videos
The next 4 videos are all about propagations. Interesting species 😀
Explaining all dimensions we ❤️ to learn from you.
Recently I got my phil.brandianum a single vine with 6 leaves. I just cut it in 3 single leaf cuttings put in spagnum moss in a propagation box, the top with two leaves l put in water and left the original vain with one leaf in its original pot. Fingers crossed 🤞 after watching your amazing video about the Brandianum care mine will also take on soon .
They are far easier to propagare than to acclimatize
Love your prop an update videos 💚😀
Thank you for the tips. I bought 2 top cuttings last week, and have chopped them to make 4. When I finally pot it up, it'll go right next to my humidifier, and if needed, I'll put it in a small greenhouse cabinet. It's been a wishlist plant of mine for so long, and I'm determined to make it happy...which in turn will probably make me unhappy, but #plantparentlife 🤣
😀😀 good luck. Its easy to propagate actually
@@onlyplants the wee roots have already started to sprout, so you're absolutely right 😁
Wow its a gud propagate an stunning
I really like your channel and I found this video informative. Keep up the great work.
😀
This plant is so beautiful! I wish they are more easily avaliable in Australia. Love your content ❤
LOVE THIS PLANT! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! YAY
I'm new here, worth finding your channel. 🇮🇳 (from Eastern most part of India)
It's been a while, Gia!! Great guide as usual, Sean! Been eyeing to visit Indonesia to get more plants because of you haha
Thank you so much for the information ❤️❤️
❤️❤️
Beautiful!! 👍🌿
Very informative. Thanks.
Just in case anyone was wondering, from personal experience, my brandtianum went months without getting water over the winter. Like the first time I watered them in 2022 was in the beginning of march and the last time they were watered was before Christmas. They looked the same as they did in the fall. Even a few new leaves popped up. The humidity wasn’t great either so there’s that
Whoaaaaaa
Healthy plant🌱
I love your knowledge
Thank you 😀
I have a little one but I ordered a full plant so I can not wait.
one of my wish list plant
Nice information bro.👍👌👌👌
Beautiful...
Every time after watching your video I have this urge to cut some plants 🌱 😀😀
Do itttt 😀
I find it easy to root in water other than any of my philo plants even without aerial roots and within a month it gave me a new shoot already , beginners luck maybe ..now i have 2 plants i just wish i don't kill it .. haha
I just saw one of your fern videos and I brought me one. Your fern plants come out so good. Hope mines do too. Ferns need a lot water I notice 🌱🌱
Yep and they need a lot of light too
You're the best! Move to the USA. ❤
I wishh ahha
So, I repot my Brandi last week & now she's throwing a tantrum & yellowing leaves (2 are turning coppery-brown now), first time I've repot since I got it last year. It's outside now, under the shade canopy along with it's other philo cousins, hoping in a couple of weeks she decides she's done being dramatic. Thank you for sharing!
They hate sudden change. Excessive Yellowing leaves is sign of not enough light or overwatering though.
Good timing🙏😎🥰
Masih wishlist sy ini kak Sean...
Nice video....
Gia is so cute.. love you Gia 😊
I just love your videos. I think you are such a nice person and so thorough in how you cover the plant care. Question - at the 6:30… time what is the (i think) climbing vine with the distinct white striping down the middle that is behind your right arm on the wall?
Thats an episcia 😀
hey Sean, I need to know what the green on green variegated plant is that is at 20:37 on this video if you could please let me know. Your videos are truly awesome and I have learned alot from you. Happy holidays my plant friend. I look forward to hearing from you in the U.S. in Massachussetts. thank you for doing what you do.
I believe that is a Philodendron Paraiso Verde. One of my fave plants. I have an episode on it 😀
Wow 😍😍😍 it's so pricy here in the Phillippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭
They grow so fast, price will fall soon 😀
Another great video, makes me want to do the same.
9months! Kudos!
Good video - so the best way was to put into water for faster? How did the moss ones come up?
They propagate very well into potting medium directly, or into moss. The moss ones should 100% take if Im not wrong
nice~
Earlybird hereeee 💚💚💚
Can you make a Philodendron 'Ring Of Fire' care and propagation video. I would love that very much. Thanks Sean!
Still waiting for mine to get big enough to cut up 😅 halfway there though
I would also suggest using a Terra cotta pot.
😀😀
Thank you for sharing beautiful and amazing plants are you selling any plant anytime soon please let me know have a blessed day
Hello, I have my philodendron brandtianum in soil but it does not advance, can I place it in water with some fertilizer? This plant has been very difficult for me. thanks for your help.
If you have enough nodes I recommend propagating single nodes in water and starting over rather than moving soil roots into water.
@@onlyplants Thank you very much for your help...no sir, the plant is very small.
💚
🥰
Hey Sean! With your moss poll made out of coconut fiber, how do you keep it damp? Do you rely on the ambient humidity, or do you water it regularly?
Ambient humidity and I aim at it when Im hosing down my plants. Since they live outdoors. Frequent misting is recommended in low humidity but careful to avoid the leaves
I love your channel.
Please tell me the name of the plant with white veins on the right at 6:24 minutes,
Do you have a video about him?
I believe thats an episcia. Yepp if you type in “onlyplants episcia” in the search bar you will see it! Its fun to propagate, super easy and fast growing plant
@@onlyplants thank you, it was a very nice idea to come up with a vertical landing
thank you champ
😀😀
I love your boulder/rock background. Is it hypertufa or natural rock?
Whoaaa only my dad might know that 😅 but its a huge rock that was flown in.
Hey there, how about a video on all the tools you use and how you take care of them? Macramé mouse poles do you make those two or do you just purchase them?
Hello I have a video titled “moss poles” on the channel do check it out if you haven’t yet. I buy everything online but from local online marketplace 😅 its very disconnected with the international market
@@onlyplants yes, but how about you go over your tools, show us what you use and why. 😎 I ask because now and again you come out with something I’ve never done or seen and I think, I’m gonna get/try that 😎
I know this video is two years old but I'm holding out hope. I've got a Brandi in ICU right now for root rot. I've removed all affected roots (which is all of them) but the root base looks healthy and it has several nodes and aerial roots. I've got it in a small shot glass with some water hoping for water prop. Would water or spaghnum be better here do you think?
I would do water if I were you. But for me I go straight to moss because I have hundreds of these 😅 i wish I could gift some to you
hey sean please make a florida beauty propagation video🤩👍
😀
I bought mine as 1 leaf rooted for 250 Philippines peso ($5) set with 6 leaves philo brasil. Hope my brandi will soon be like yours, maybe in 2 years 😂
❤️ hi Sean, I am just curious why you have so many plants, when you don’t have any videos of plant unboxing.
I unbox everyday 😅 would make it kinda hard to film on a daily basis. I also prefer film useful contents that can help along others in their care and propagation 🙊
@@onlyplants ❤️👍
💌
❤️❤️
I need this
Hi Sean, How does one incorporate these kind of "indoor" plants in an outside garden to make the garden have that jungle-like feel?
If you live in winter-free zones, its quite easy actually 😀
Do you recommend letting the cuttings calcify before putting them in water or should they go straight in?
I always go straight into water 😅
@@onlyplants alright, thank you! If it worked for you im hoping it’ll work for me
Hi Sean. Love you videos. How can i buy a plant from you?
Only if you live in Indonesia. I cannot export at this time.
Could we get an update on mother plant?
Ive posted some massive specimens of this on my instagram @bo.tan.ist . Cant really identify which ones the mother plant anymore because they got so big so fast 😅
I have a epipremnum skeloton key. It's climbing but the new leaves are coming out tiny
Give it good light, some fertilizing, and some time 😀
Thank God I did not cut mine before seeing this video 🥰 By the way,is Jia moving out with you?
Yeah Gia is with me now 😀
Someone gave me a cutting of this for free with a purchase.
It lived in a fishtank with no cover on a heat mat. Leaves got huge, but I just think they're funny looking. Like it wanted to be a Scindapsus exotica, but the Philo club claimed dibs first
I had it for a year before I traded it for an agleonema cutlass. 😂. Had like 8 leaves
I bought one of these because of you! I can’t wait for it to arrive!
- Hello from the Philippines! 🇵🇭 #YaCult
Hello! I want to know the philodendron caramel mable vari. propohation and care.there is not much informations. Can you help me? Thank you!!
I dont have that species unfortunately
For whatever reason I got a cutting with long stem and the stem Keeps rotting even when I cut them down. Any suggestions?
This depends on the condition of the aerial roots. Send me a pic on DM 😀
Wish you where in the usa
Does philodendron brazil also need chunky potting mix?
I personally recommend a chunky soil for ALL aroids 😊✌️
Yepp
This. 😀
Man I wish we were neighbours
They are all Philodendron hederaceum. The strain names are „scandens“ or „brasil“ and more..
so should you water once a day or alternate days?
I water my plants lightly every day. But everyones environment is different… i would make sure it is completely dry between watering
Auto cek tokped 😅
Can you do micans next ")
Ooo they are so easy. Haha will try to do ine soon
@@onlyplants Thanks ko Sean!! im a fan :)
Lol. You should keep a log book.
What no clip of you struggling to cut the plant? why skip it?????? lol
Looks like micans...
Your plants must hold their breath whenever you walk by hoping you won't chop them down yet again. 😏
Lol or maybe they are throwing their hands out and saying “pick meeee pick meee” 🙌🏻
One day you should propagate.. I mean Multiply if you are Gay ore not!
